Septic arthritis of the hand is a serious disease that often results in dysfunction of the joint or even the need to perform amputation of the *** rank second in the frequency of occurrence after lesions of the knee *** points concerning the etiology,the timing of the development of cartilage destruction and the development of osteomyelitis,approaches to surgical treatment,the duration of antibiotic therapy,and the start of rehabilitation measures remain the subject of numerous *** on a search in the PubMed,Web of Science and Google Scholar databases down to 1990-2021,publications on septic arthritis of the hand were found and *** following inclusion criteria were used in our review:(1) Septic arthritis of the hand;(2) Published in a peer review journal;(3) Written in English;and(4) Full text version *** were excluded if they met any of the following criteria:(1) Letters;(2) Articles published in abstract form only;and(3) Cadaveric *** arthritis of the hand was characterized by the most frequent damage to the joints of the index and middle fingers(> 50% of cases).Up to 90% of cases,the infection enters the joint as a result of penetrating trauma,animal bites,*** aureus became the most frequently isolated microorganism(30%-55%),and its polyantibiotic-resistant form Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus was found,according to various sources,from 0% to 73% among all isolated Staphylococcus *** arthritis,Pasteurella multocida(6%-11%) is often isolated as a result of animal *** cartilage destruction in the experiment developed within 24-48 h after *** clinical studies,the development of osteomyelitis was noted when treatment was delayed by more than 10 d.X-ray data during the first two weeks were *** of surgical treatment of septic *** and surgical treatment,and with the development of osteomyelitis,the implementation of arthro

This paper presents a new method for modelling and simulation of the dynamic behaviour of the wheel-rail contact. The proposed dynamic wheel-rail contact model comprises wheel-rail contact geometry, normal contact problem, tangential contact problem and wheelset dynamic behaviour on the track. This two-degree of freedom model takes into account the lateral displacement of the wheelset and the yaw angle. Single wheel tread rail contact is considered for all simulations and Kalker’s linear theory and heuristic non-linear creep models are employed. The second order differential equations are reduced to first order and the forward velocity of the wheelset is increased until the wheelset critical velocity is reached. This approach does not require solving mathematical equations in order to estimate the critical velocity of the dynamic wheel-rail contact model. The mathematical model is implemented in Matlab using numerical differentiation method. The simulated results compare well with the estimated results based on classical theory related to the dynamic behaviour of rail-wheel contact so the model is validated.

Chinese medicine practitioners apply the differentiation reasoning for decision-making. The wide scope of Chinese medicine intervention provides coverage of methods and techniques with applications to primary, secondary and tertiary levels of prevention. The rapid evolution of mathematical and computational techniques allowed the implementation of several models for pattern differentiation that were tested for several physiologic systems. Concurrently, it is argued that pattern differentiation might improve the efficacy of either traditional or conventional medical interventions. This article reviewed the influence of pattern differentiation into clinical practice organized by medical field： general pattern differentiation; genitourinary （recurrent cystitis）; cardiovascular （coronary heart disease; arterial hypertension; angina pectoris）; neurology （stroke）; surgery; metabolic （diabetes mellitus）; hepatic （cirrhosis）; gastrointestinal （chronic superficial gastritis）; orthopedic （low back pain; rheumatoid arthritis; cervical spondylosis; elbow arthritis）; oncology （gastric mucosal dysplasia; lung cancer）; gynecologic and obstetric manifestations （nausea and vomiting）. The reviewed studies presented achievements that have contributed to the integration of Chinese medicine and evidence-based medicine in the treatment of many mild and severe diseases. Target diseases considered as major public health problems were also investigated and the results are promising regarding the possibility to treat guided by pattern differentiation.

There is growing international concern about the effects of human-generated sound on fish and other aquatic ***,because of a striking paucity of well-designed and controlled experimental data,very little is actually known about the effects of these sounds on *** suggest that human-generated sounds,even from very high intensity sources,might have no effect in some cases or might result in effects that range from small and temporary shifts in behavior all the way to immediate *** this point,however,it is nearly impossible to ex-trapolate from results with one sound source,one fish species,or even fish of one size to other sources,species,or fish *** present paper briefly discusses the potential effects of sound on fish,describes some of the more recent well-controlled experimental studies,and points out areas for future study that will be needed before a real understanding of the effects of sound on fish can be developed.

Four luminescent cyclometalated iridium(Ⅲ) dipyridoquinoxaline complexes appended with an indole moiety [Ir(N^C)2(N^N)] (PF6) (HN^C = 2-phenylpyridine, Hppy; N^N = 2-(N-(2-(indole-3-acetamido)ethyl)aminocarbonyl)dipyrido[3,2-f:2′,3′-h]quinox- aline, dpqC2indole (1a), N^N = 2-(N-(6-(indole-3-acetamido)hexyl)aminocarbonyl)dipyrido[3,2-f:2′,3′-h]quinoxaline, dpqC6indole (1b); HN^C = 7,8-benzoquinoline, Hbzq, N^N = dpqC2indole (2a), N^N = dpqC6indole (2b)) have been synthesized and characterized. Upon irradiation, all the complexes displayed moderately intense and long-lived luminescence under ambient condi-tions and in 77 K glass. On the basis of the photophysical data, the emission of the complexes has been assigned to an excited state of triplet metal-to-ligand charge-transfer (3MLCT) ((dπ(Ir)→π*(N^N)) character. Cyclic voltammetric studies revealed indole-based and iridium-based oxidations at ca. +1.10 V and +1.24 V vs. SCE, respectively, and ligand-based reductions at ca. -1.07 to-2.29 V vs. SCE. The interactions of the complexes with an indole-binding protein, bovine serum albumin (BSA), have been examined by emission titrations.

A novel nanocomposite of rigid polyurethane foam was prepared by the polymerization of a sucrose-based polyol, a glycerol-based polyol and polymeric methylene diphenyl diisocyanate in the presence of cellulose whiskers. The cell morphology of the resulting foams was examined by scanning electron microscopy which showed both the pure foam and the nanocomposite foam had homogeneous cell dispersion and uniform cell size of approximately 200 μm. Analysis of the foams by Fourier transform infrared(FT-IR) spectroscopy indicated that both samples exhibited signals attributed to the polyurethane including the NH stretching and bending vibrations at 3320 cm^(-1) and 1530 cm^(-1), the OC=O vibration at 1730 cm^(-1) and the CO-NH vibration at 1600 cm^(-1). FT-IR analysis of the nanocomposite indicated that cellulose whiskers were crosslinked with the polyurethane matrix as the signal intensity of the OH stretch at 3500 cm^(-1) was significantly reduced in comparison to the spectral data acquired for a control sample prepared from the pure polyurethane foam mixed with cellulose whiskers. According to ASTM standard testing procedures, the tensile modulus, tensile strength and yield strength of the nanocomposite foam were found to be improved by 36.8%, 13.8% and 15.2%, and the compressive modulus and strength were enhanced by 179.9% and 143.4%, respectively. Dynamic mechanical analysis results testified the improvements of mechanical properties and showed a better thermal stability of the nanocomposite foam.

In the last twenty years, in the United States and other Western countries, dry needling （DN） became a hot and debatable topic, not only in academic but also in legal fields. This White Paper is to provide the authoritative information of DN versus acupuncture to academic scholars, healthcare professional administrators, lawmakers, and the general public through providing the authoritative evidence and experts＇ opinions regarding critical issues of DN versus acupuncture, and then reach consensus. DN is the use of dry needles alone, either solid filiform acupuncture needles or hollow-core hypodermic needles, to insert into the body for the treatment of muscle pain and related myofascial pain syndrome. DN is sometimes also known as intramuscular stimulation, trigger points （TrP） acupuncture, TrP DN, myofascial TrP DN, or biomedical acupuncture. InWestern countries, DN is a form of simplified acupuncture using biomedical language in treating myofascial pain, a contemporary development of a portion of Ashi point acupuncture from Chinese acupuncture. It seeks to redefine acupuncture by reframing its theoretical principles in a Western manner. DN-like needling with filiform needles have been widely used in Chinese acupuncture practice over the past 2,000 years, and with hypodermic needles has been used in China in acupuncture practice for at least 72 years. In Eastern countries, such as China, since late of 1800s or earlier, DN is a common name of acupuncture among acupuncturists and the general public, which has a broader scope of indications, not limited to treating the myofascial pain.

The experimental performance evaluation of geothermal egg incubator was conducted with the aim of improving the capacity and efficiency. The study determines the accuracy of the measuring instruments in an incubator, test control parameters (temperature and relative humidity) and evaluates the overall performance of the incubator by examining the number of hatched and unhatched eggs. The data analysis was done and the results show that the measuring instruments, tilting mechanism and ventilation fan performed well. The relative humidity showed to be in proper range while the temperature found to have fluctuations of more than 2?C from set value and took longer time to restore which led defecting eggs. The improvement will enhance more productions and increase income to individual farmers and Government at large.
