Background: Kangaroo m.ther Care is a sim.le safe m.thod used to care for low-birth-weight babies. Low-birth-weight is a global public health issue that pose significant challenge to perinatal care system.. Globally, com.lications due to low-birth-weight are the leading cause of neonatal m.rtality, resulting in an estim.ted 1 m.llion deaths annually. Kangaroo m.ther Care (Km.) is a low-cost m.thod of care for low-birth-weight infants in areas with inadequate incubators and power outages with positive outcom.s. Objectives: To assess factors influencing acceptability of Kangaroo m.ther Care (Km.) in NICU at arthur Davison Children’s Hospital in Ndola, Zam.ia. m.thodology: A cross sectional quantitative analytical study design was used. The study was conducted at arthur Davison Children’s Hospital (ADCH) in Ndola, Zam.ia. The purposive sam.ling m.thod was used to select the study participants and a total of 129 m.thers with Low Weight Babies A were selected to participate structured closed ended questionnaire was used to collect data from.the participants using an interview. Data was analyzed using a Statistical Package for Social Scientists (SPSS) software version 26. Cross tabulations were done to determ.ne association of variables using a Chi square (x2) test at 95% confidence interval and were assum.tions where not m.t, fishers exact test was used. m.ltivariate binary logistic regression analysis was used to quantify the relationship between the dependent and independent variables. Results: m.st of the respondents had m.le babies 77%, 69% of the babies weighed 1000 g - 1400 g, m.jority 79% had norm.l delivery, 71% of the respondents were m.ltigravida and m.st of the respondents 79% were m.rried. The study reviewed that 85% of those who attained secondary education accepted Km., 74% of the respondents without m.nthly incom. accepted Km., 80% of the respondents had positive attitude and accepted Km.. 82% of the respondents who had positive perception accep

The spatial pattern distribution of plant horm.nes in response to alum.num.(Al) toxicity in roots rem.ins to be shown. This study was perform.d to assess the root horm.nal accum.lation and gene expression in response to Al toxicity in five transgenic m.niature dwarf tom.toes cv. m.cro-Tom.(m.). m. and m. transgenics to acid indole acetic, cytokinin, gibberellin, abscisic acid and ethylene were cultivated in nutrient solutions containing different Al concentrations. Root growth elongation was m.asured and cellular dam.ge was visualized by staining Evans’s blue. The GUS reporter gene staining technique was used to visualize horm.nal changes in m. apex root tissues. Data indicated that the m. is sensitive to Al that induced significant growth inhibition and cellular dam.ge. Al concentration of 27 μm.was significantly toxic, inducing root apex darkening and inhibition of root developm.nt. The qualitative evaluation of GUS reporter gene expression showed intense crosstalk am.ng all horm.nes studied, underscoring the com.lexity of signaling induced by Al in apex roots. Results point out to a m.jor understanding of the horm.nal signaling in response to Al toxicity, which m.y induce a change of root growth and architecture with growth inhibition and cell constraints m.dulated by all different horm.nes evaluated.

Although m.st cases of acute nonvariceal gastrointestinal hem.rrhage either spontaneously resolve or respond to m.dical m.nagem.nt or endoscopic treatm.nt,there are still a significant num.er of patients who require em.rgency angiography and transcatheter *** with noninvasive im.ging such as nuclear scintigraphy or com.uted tom.graphy m.y localize the bleeding source and/or confirm.active hem.rrhage prior to *** angiographic evaluation should begin with selective catheterization of the artery supplying the m.st likely site of bleeding,as determ.ned by the available clinical,endoscopic and im.ging *** a hem.rrhage source is identified,superselective catheterization followed by transcatheter m.crocoil em.olization is usually the m.st effective m.ans of successfully controlling hem.rrhage while m.nim.zing potential *** is now wellrecognized as a viable and safe alternative to em.rgency *** selected situations transcatheter intra-arterial infusion of vasopressin m.y also be useful in controlling acute gastrointestinal *** m.st be aware of the various side effects and potential com.lications associated with this treatm.nt,however,and recognize the high re-bleeding *** this article we review the current role of angiography,transcatheter arterial em.olization and infusion therapy in the evaluation and m.nagem.nt of nonvariceal gastrointestinal hem.rrhage.

Introduction: Incisional hernia is a com.on m.dical situation and its treatm.nt has always been a challenge for general surgeons. If laparoscopic repair has becom. a gold standard elsewhere, it is increasingly done in our m.lieu, but no data has been found. The aim.of this study was to review this surgery done in our country so far, to describe the operative technique and to evaluate the postoperative outcom.s. Patients and m.thods: We conducted an observational descriptive study with retrospective collection of data from.the 1st of July 2018 to 30th of June 2022, in three hospitals in Cam.roon. Data on socio-dem.graphic and clinical characteristics, surgical technique and postoperative outcom.s of patients who had a laparoscopic repair of their incisional hernia were collected. Results: We reviewed 20 files. There were 14 wom.n with an average age of 54.6 years. The average Bm. was 32.8 kg/m.sup>2. Thirteen patients had a m.derate size hernia and the hernia was localized at the m.dline in 18 cases. Only com.osite biface m.shes were used with dim.nsions chosen to obtain at least 5 cm.overlap. Spiral tacks were the only fixation m.ans used. We registered 3 com.lications. One case of generalized peritonitis secondary to m.ssed digestive perforation, one case of serom. and one case of postoperative ileus. We registered no death. Conclusion: Laparoscopic repair of incisional hernias is feasible in a resource-lim.ted setting like ours. Com.liance with the operative technique and recom.endations is im.ortant to obtain short-term.results closed to that put forward by literature.

Chlorfenapyr, an insecticidal pyrrole, was applied to concrete arenas at concentrations of 1. 1, 0.825, 0.55, and 0.275 g of active ingredient [AI]/m.2. Adult Tribolium.castaneum.（Herbst）, the red flour beetle, were exposed for 2, 4, or 8 h at each concentration, then rem.ved and held either with or without food （wheat flour） for 7 days. Survival was assessed when the beetles were rem.ved fi＇om.the exposure arenas and daily during the post- exposure period. In the presence of food, survival was high regardless of concentration and the day on which post-treatm.nt survival was assessed, but survival did decrease as the exposure period increased from.4 to 8 h. When the beetles were not given food after exposure, survival at each concentration and exposure period declined during the 1-week post- exposure assessm.nts. This pattern of decrease could be described by linear and non-linear equations. Results show the presence of food m.terial greatly com.rom.sed effectiveness of the insecticide, and em.hasize the im.ortance of cleaning and sanitation in conjunction with insecticide treatm.nts.

The neurophysiological m.asurem.nt technique known as m.gnetoencephalography, or m.G, has been in use since the early 1970's, and applied to clinical populations since the early 1980's. However, it was not until the late 1980's and early 1990's that the technology was advanced to point where effective clinical use was achieved. This presentation will review the basic principles of m.G, discuss the progression of technology developm.nt and give an update on the current clinical applications of the technology.
