Surface bioactivation of PEEK by neutral atom beam technology

Polyetheretherketone(PEEK)is an alternative to metallic implants and a material of choice in many applications,including orthopedic,spinal,trauma,and *** titanium(Ti)and Ti-alloys are widely used in many intraosseous implants due to its biocompatibility and ability to osseointegrate,negatives include stiffness which contributes to shear stress,radio-opacity,and *** surgeons prefer to use PEEK due to its biocompatibility,similar elasticity to bone,and radiolucency,however,due to its inert properties,it fails to fully integrate with *** Neutral Atom Beam(ANAB)technology has been successfully employed to demonstrate enhanced bioactivity of PEEK both in vitro and in *** this study,we further characterize surfaces of PEEK modified by ANAB as well as elucidate attachment and genetic effects of dental pulp stem cells(DPSC)exposed to these *** modification resulted in decreased contact angle at 72.9±4.5°as compared to 92.4±8.5°for control(p<0.01)and a decreased average surface roughness,however with a nano-textured surface *** treatment also increased the ability of DPSC attachment and proliferation with considerable genetic differences showing earlier progression towards osteogenic *** surface modification is achieved without adding a coating or changing the chemical composition of the PEEK *** together,we show that ANAB processing of PEEK surface enhances the bioactivity of implantable medical devices without an additive or a coating.

对于任何国家而言,电力产业都是一项关乎国计民生的重支柱性性产业,无论是对社会、经济,或者人民的生活都影响甚大。目前,俄罗斯已经初步完成了市场经济体制的构建,更多的电力企业向着高度自主经营权的方向发展,成为独立运营主体。然而,由于其本身带有的垄断性特点的影响,因此无可避免的需要政府对其进行合理的规制。在此情形下,怎样进一步推动俄罗斯的电力体制改革,构建新的市场经济发展关系,实现电力企业和政府有效连接,同时激发出政府对电力企业的规制作用,这一课题具有非常巨大的研究价值。整体来看,本文研究可分为五个部分:第一部分为绪论,在该部分阐述本文研究背景、研究理论、研究意义,分析电力规制背景下国内外对电力产业发展的研究现状,解析本文研究思路和研究框架;第二部分是介绍与本文研究相关的电力规制理论内容;第三部分探究俄罗斯电力产业规制的发展现状以及发展趋势;第四部分分析当前阶段俄罗斯电力产业规制的不足之处。第五部分是优化和改善电力产业规制的对策设计。在有效电力规制标准的指导下,提出建立现代电力规制体制的具体对策。通过本文的研究主要得出以下发现:(1)西方国家对政府规制的起步较早,研究成果较为丰富,俄罗斯对政府规制的起步相对较晚,研究主要是在借鉴西方规制理论的基础之上,结合俄罗斯发展现状,提出适合俄罗斯道路的政府规制体系。无论是国外和国内研究,对电力产业的政府规制研究文献相对较少,通过政府规制的视角研究俄罗斯电力产业的文献并不多,且研究大部分仅停留在表面,并没有从系统的制度层面对俄罗斯电力产业规制作出深入分析。(2)俄罗斯政府规制效果的增强,需要从以下几方面下工夫。俄罗斯要明确电力产业规制的总体规制思路,保持规制的连续性,特别是要突出俄罗斯电力产业的问题导向,切实解决俄罗斯电力产业发展过程当中影响产业发展和人民生活水平的突出问题。在有效电力规制标准的指导下,提出建立现代电力规制体制的具体对策,为俄罗斯电力产业的发展和对其规制法律法规的研究提供指导意义。

Evolution of Physical and Chemical Properties of Phenolic Resin-Based Carbon/Carbon Composites Reinforced with Short Discrete Fibers during Pyrolysis

In the present work, novolac phenolic resin-based composites reinforced with short discrete carbon fibers were pyrolized at different temperatures from 400℃ to 900℃. Their physical and chemical properties were studied, linterfacial bonding between the matrix and carbon fiber and its influence on mechanical properties of analyzed composites were analyzed. Experimental results demonstrated strengthening of interfacial bonding with increase of pyrolysis temperature. Evolution of failure behavior was observed.

Reproduction technologies(RTs)can provide for the reliable reproduction of amphibians,as well as perpetuation of species genetic variation with the use of *** 1982,in anticipation of the biodiversity conservation crisis,major Russian institutions collaborated in a dynamic program to develop and implement RTs for the sustainable management of amphibian *** initial primary focus was the captive breeding of threatened Russian endemic anuran and caudate species,using RTs that varied from environmental manipulation to the use of exogenous gonadotropic hormones to stimulate *** species were mostly from Palearctic or cool mountain regions,but also included a wide range of species from warm *** early achievements included the successful cryopreservation of anuran spermatozoa and anuran diploid pluripotent cell nuclei,in order to store both the matrilineal and patrilineal genomes in biobanks,with their subsequent development to the blastula stage after implantation into enucleated *** the turn of the 21st Century,in support of the priorities of the Amphibian Conservation Action Plan(2007),we developed RTs for the refrigerated storage of testicular or urinary spermatozoa for days to weeks at 4℃,the cryopreservation of urinary spermatozoa using anovel cryoprotectant,the in vitro fertilisation of hormonally induced oocytes either fresh or after refrigerated ex situ or in situ storage,and the artificial insemination of salamanders with fresh *** this article,we describe previously unpublished techniques and techniques from obscure Russian sources.

Deep learning analysis of defect and phase evolution during electron beam-induced transformations in WS_(2)

Recent advances in scanning transmission electron microscopy(STEM)allow the real-time visualization of solid-state transformations in materials,including those induced by an electron beam and temperature,with atomic ***,despite the ever-expanding capabilities for high-resolution data acquisition,the inferred information about kinetics and thermodynamics of the process,and single defect dynamics and interactions is *** is due to the inherent limitations of manual ex situ analysis of the collected volumes of *** circumvent this problem,we developed a deep-learning framework for dynamic STEM imaging that is trained to find the lattice defects and apply it for mapping solid state reactions and transformations in layered WS_(2).The trained deep-learning model allows extracting thousands of lattice defects from raw STEM data in a matter of seconds,which are then classified into different categories using unsupervised clustering *** further expanded our framework to extract parameters of diffusion for sulfur vacancies and analyzed transition probabilities associated with switching between different configurations of defect complexes consisting of Mo dopant and sulfur vacancy,providing insight into pointdefect dynamics and *** approach is universal and its application to beam-induced reactions allows mapping chemical transformation pathways in solids at the atomic level.

The chemical and mineral compositions of bauxite recovered from the Severoonezhsk Bauxite Mine(Arkhangelsk region,Russia)were studied by XRD,ICP-OES,TG/DSC,SEM,TEM,and Mössbauer *** iron-containing minerals of the bauxites were found to comprise alumogoethite(α-Fe_(1−x)Al_(x)OOH),alumohematite(α-(Fe_(1−x)Al_(x))_(2)O_(3)),alumoakaganeite(β-Fe_(1−x)Al_(x)O(OH,Cl)),and chromite(FeCr_(2)O_(4)).The efficiency of Fe extraction from the bauxite by HCl leaching was 82.5%at 100℃,HCl concentration of 10%,solid/liquid ratio of 1:10,and the process duration of 60 min,with aluminum loss from the bauxites below 4.5%of the total Al contents in the *** of the kinetics of the iron leaching process proved diffusion to be the limiting stage of the process at 90−100℃.Bauxite residue after leaching presented traces of α-Fe_(1−x)Al_(x)OOH and β-Fe_(1−x)Al_(x)O(OH,Cl),and most of the iron content was in the FeCr_(2)O_(4).In bauxite residue after HCl leaching,in addition to iron oxide,the contents of chromium and calcium oxides significantly *** iron chloride liquor after leaching contained the rare earth elements(REE)of 6.8 mg/L Sc,4.1 mg/L Ce and 2.3 mg/L Ga.

Na,K-ATPase as a target for endogenous cardiotonic steroids:What’s the evidence?

The article introduces the results of a study exploring the connection of individual characteristics with the ability to recognize hidden information. The study involves 80 psychology students. The subjects of the experiment tried to separate the lies from the truth in specially recorded videos imitating recruitment interviews. The results show that subjects who successfully recognize falsehood, compared to others, demonstrate a low level of neuroticism(F equals 5.488, p is less than 0.05) and high level of intrapersonal emotional quotient(F equals 3.581, p is less than 0.05). The data obtained suggest that the ability to recognize hidden information is associated with a low level of anxiety and high level of selfawareness.

Transformation of Characteristic Function in Dynamic Games

The problem of transformation of characteristic function, using a transformation matrix and connected with associated consistency of a solution concept, was investigated for the class of socalled “one-shot” games. The same problem also arises in dynamic games when players move step by step along the cooperative trajectory. In this case the evolution of characteristic function is, in general,unpredictable and may lead to time-inconsistency of a fixed cooperative solution concept. There are different approaches to overcome this problem based on transformation of characteristic function. In this paper, the step-wise transformation is used, which is a generalization of similar transformation of characteristic function for dynamic games with perfect information, and it leads to the time-consistent solution. The general form of such transformation is proposed.
