Background: In sub Saharan Africa, small size surveys have demonstrated early high mortality among infected patients on antiretroviral therapies (ART). Few studies have been conducted in large cohorts of HIV-patients in public health care system in West Africa. Objectives: Our study aims to determine mortality rate and its predictors in a cohort of patients on ART in a public daycare hospital in Burkina Faso. Methods: We have carried out a retrospective cohort study. All HIV-infected patients on ART between January 1st 2008 and December 31st 2011 were included in the study. Survival probability was estimated by the Kaplan-Meier method. Cox regression analysis was used to identify associated factors to mortality. Results: A total of 2243 HIV-infected patients were included in the study. During the follow-up, 218 patients representing 9.7% were lost. About 104 patients representing 4.6% were transferred and 1691 representing 75.4% were still in the therapeutic cohort. There were 230 death cases for a total of 4282 persons-years, (5.4 deaths for 100 persons-years;95% CI: 4.8 -6.3). The survival probabilities after 6 months, 1 year and 2 years were 92.6%, 91% and 88.9% respectively. For the multivariate analysis, the following factors were independently associated to death: male gender, BMI .5 kg/m2, WHO stage 3 and 4, HIV-2, T-CD4 lymphocytes ne clearance 2. Conclusions: Our study provides for the first time mortality rates and its predictors among HIV-patients on antiretroviral treatment in a large cohort in public health sector in Burkina Faso. It highlights the importance of early HIV screening to limit ART initiation at advanced HIV infection stages.

Multiple sclerosis(MS)is the most common chronic disease of the central nervous system(CNS)in young adults and represents the first cause of severe handicap,originally non-traumatic(Oh et al.,2018).MS is chara cterized by the infiltration of auto reactive lymphocytes specific to myelin through the blood-brain barrier,which results in the appearance of inflammatory demyelinating lesions caused by the death of the central nervous system myelinating cells,oligodendrocytes(Oh et al.,2018).There is a prevalence sexual with a ratio of three times more affected women than men.

Physical Analysis of Atmospheric Phenomena Associated with Climatic Storms: Approach Study Related to Climate Change on Earth

Atmospheric phenomena are physical phenomena resulting from the correlation of atmospheric parameters of natural origin. They are associated with climatic storms and include lightning, thunder, global warming, wind, evaporation, rain, clouds, and snow. The formation and evolution of these phenomena remain complex according to their natural reference parameters. The numerical models defined in this study are equations based on models of atmospheric parameters. Applied in the atmosphere, they yield the equation of the key atmospheric phenomena. The distribution of these phenomena across the entire planet is the origin of the formation of climatic regions. Indeed, the constants obtained are 275.16 km/s for the speed of lightning, 3.99 GJ for the discharge energy of a thunderbolt, 276.15˚K for the temperature of global warming, 3.993 Km/h for the formation speed of winds and cyclones, 2.9963 Km/h for the speed of evaporation, 278.16˚K for the formation of rain, 274.1596˚K for the formation of clouds, and 274.1632˚K for snow formation. Moreover, this research conducts an analytical study approach to the phenomenon of climate change in the current era of industrialization, specifically analyzing the direct effects of global warming on atmospheric phenomena. Thus, with a temperature of 53.45˚C, global warming is considered maximal and will lead to very abundant rain and snow precipitations with maximum PW at 12.5 and 11.1 g/cm2 of water, surface water evaporation fluxes significantly above normal at a speed of 6.55 Km/h, increasingly violent winds at speeds far exceeding 5.43 Km/h, and catastrophic climatic effects. In summary, the aim of this research is to define the main natural phenomena associated with global climatic storms and to study the real impact of climate change on Earth.

Reconstructing Missing Hourly Real-Time Precipitation Data Using a Novel Intermittent Sliding Window Period Technique for Automatic Weather Station Data

Precipitation is the most discontinuous atmospheric parameter because of its temporal and spatial variability. Precipitation observations at automatic weather stations（AWSs） show different patterns over different time periods. This paper aims to reconstruct missing data by finding the time periods when precipitation patterns are similar, with a method called the intermittent sliding window period（ISWP） technique—a novel approach to reconstructing the majority of non-continuous missing real-time precipitation data. The ISWP technique is applied to a 1-yr precipitation dataset（January 2015 to January 2016）, with a temporal resolution of 1 h, collected at 11 AWSs run by the Indian Meteorological Department in the capital region of Delhi. The acquired dataset has missing precipitation data amounting to 13.66%, of which 90.6% are reconstructed successfully. Furthermore, some traditional estimation algorithms are applied to the reconstructed dataset to estimate the remaining missing values on an hourly basis. The results show that the interpolation of the reconstructed dataset using the ISWP technique exhibits high quality compared with interpolation of the raw dataset. By adopting the ISWP technique, the root-mean-square errors（RMSEs）in the estimation of missing rainfall data—based on the arithmetic mean, multiple linear regression, linear regression,and moving average methods—are reduced by 4.2%, 55.47%, 19.44%, and 9.64%, respectively. However, adopting the ISWP technique with the inverse distance weighted method increases the RMSE by 0.07%, due to the fact that the reconstructed data add a more diverse relation to its neighboring AWSs.

Molecular Simulation of Hydrogen Adsorption Density in Single-Walled Carbon Nanotubes and Multilayer Adsorption Mechanism

The adsorption of hydrogen onto single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs) was studied by molecular dynamics (MD) sim'lation. It was found that the hydrogen molecules distribute regularly inside and outside of the tube. Density distribution was computed for H2 molecule. Theoretical analysis of the result showed the multilayer adsorption mechanism of SWCNTs. The storage of H2 in SWCNTs is computed, which provides essential theoretical reference for further study of hydrogen adsorption in SWCNTs.

Deep learning approach for microarray cancer data classification

Analysis of microarray data is a highly challenging problem due to the inherent complexity in the nature of the data associated with higher dimensionality,smaller sample size,imbalanced number of classes,noisy data-structure,and higher variance of feature *** has led to lesser classification accuracy and over-fitting *** this work,the authors aimed to develop a deep feedforward method to classify the given microarray cancer data into a set of classes for subsequent diagnosis *** have used a 7-layer deep neural network architecture having various parameters for each *** small sample size and dimensionality problems are addressed by considering a well-known dimensionality reduction technique namely principal component *** feature values are scaled using the Min-Max approach and the proposed approach is validated on eight standard microarray cancer *** measure the loss,a binary cross-entropy is used and adaptive moment estimation is considered for *** performance of the proposed approach is evaluated using classification accuracy,precision,recall,f-measure,log-loss,receiver operating characteristic curve,and confusion matrix.A comparative analysis with state-of-the-art methods is carried out and the performance of the proposed approach exhibit better performance than many of the existing methods.

Methane dehydroaromatization–A study on hydrogen use for catalyst reduction, role of molybdenum, the nature of catalyst support and significance of Bronsted acid sites

Methane dehydroaromatization was studied over Mo/SiO2 and Mo/HZSM-5 with different Mo loadings(2, 5, 10 wt%) at 973 K and 1023 K in a recirculating batch reactor. H2 pretreatment at 1023 K prior to methane activation has significantly improved the catalyst activity with increase in Mo loading and reduced the induction time on benzene formation in both Mo/SiO2 and Mo/HZSM-5. 10 wt% Mo/HZSM-5 gave a maximum methane conversion of 19% and ~67% benzene selectivity at 1023 K. The XRD analysis of used catalysts revealed that the Mo O3 species were converted to β-Mo2C phase. Studies on Mo/SiO2 catalysts showed that benzene was formed even in the absence of acidic zeolite sites. Reactions of ethylene in the presence of pure silica, HZSM-5 and in a blank reactor revealed that conversion of ethylene to aromatics was similar in case of the blank reactor and silica. Thus, it is believed that molybdenum carbide sites act as active sites only for C–H bond activation of methane and ethylene formation. Even though, ethylene can undergo subsequent oligomerization without any catalytic aid to form benzene at973 K and above addition of acidic zeolites improved the selectivity of benzene.

ASTER Data Processing by Discrete Wavelets Transform and Band Ratio Techniques for the Identification of Lineaments and Hydrothermal Alteration Zones in Poli, North Cameroon

The aim of this study is to carry out hydrothermal alteration mapping and structural mapping using ASTER images in order to identify indices that could guide mining exploration work in the Poli area and its surroundings. To achieve this, the ASTER images were first preprocessed to correct atmospheric effects and remove vegetation influence. Secondly, a lineament mapping was conducted by applying Discrete Wavelet Transform (DWT) algorithms to the First Principal Component Analysis (PCA1) of Visible near-Infrared (VNIR) and Shortwave Infrared (SWIR) bands. Lastly, band ratio methods were applied to the VNIR, SWIR, and Thermal Infrared (TIR) bands to determine indices of iron oxides/hydroxides (hematite and limonite), hydroxyl-bearing minerals (chlorite, epidote, and muscovite), and the quartz index. The results obtained showed that the lineaments were mainly oriented ne-SW, Ene-WSW, and E-W, with ne-SW being the most predominant direction. Concerning hydrothermal alteration, the identified indices covered almost the entire study area and showed a strong correlation with lithological data. Overlaying the obtained lineaments with the hydrothermal alteration indices revealed a significant correlation between existing mining indices and those observed in the field. Mineralized zones generally coincided with areas of high lineament density exhibiting significant hydrothermal alteration. Based on the correlation between existing mining indices and the results of hydrothermal and structural mapping, the results obtained can then be used as a reference document for any mining exploration in the study area.

arsenic trioxide(As2O3)is recently found to have therapeutic potential in systemic sclerosis(SSc),a life-threatening multi-system fibrosing autoimmune disease with type I interferon(IFN-I)*** activated plasmacytoid dendritic cells(pDCs)are responsible for IFN-I secretion and are closely related with fibrosis establishment in *** this study,we showed that high concentrations of As2O3 induced apoptosis of pDCs via mitochondrial pathway with increased BAX/BCL-2 ratio,while independent of reactive oxygen species ***,at clinical relevant concentrations,As2O3 preferentially inhibited IFN-αsecretion as compared to other cytokines such as TNF-α,probably due to potent down-regulation of the total protein and mRNA expression,as well as phosphorylation of the interferon regulatory factor7(IRF7).In addition,As2O3 induced a suppressive phenotype,and in combination with cytokine inhibition,it down-regulated pDCs’capacity to induce CD4+T cell proliferation,Thl/Th22 polarization,and B cell differentiation towards ***,chronically activated pDCs from SSc patients were not resistant to the selective IFN-αinhibition,and regulatory phenotype induced by ***,our data suggest that As2O3 could target pDCs and exert its treatment efficacy in SSc,and more autoimmune disorders with IFN-I signature.
