Mitogen-activated protein kinase （MAPK） cascades are universal signal transduction modules present in all eukaryotes. In plants, MAPK cascades were shown to regulate cell division, developmental processes, stress responses, and hormone pathways. The subgroup A of Arabidopsis MAPKs consists of AtMPK3, AtMPK6, and AtMPK10. AtMPK3 and AtMPK6 are activated by their upstream MAP kinase kinases （MKKs） AtMKK4 and AtMKK5 in response to biotic and abiotic stress. In addition, they were identified as key regulators of stomatal development and patterning. AtMPKIO has long been considered as a pseudo-gene, derived from a gene duplication of AtMPK6. Here we show that AtMPKIO is expressed highly but very transiently in seedlings and at sites of local auxin maxima leaves. MPK10 encodes a functional kinase and interacts with the upstream MAP kinase kinase （MAPKK） AtMKK2. mpklO mutants are delayed in flowering in long-day conditions and in continuous light. Moreover, cotyledons of mpk10 and mkk2 mutants have reduced vein complexity, which can be reversed by inhibiting polar auxin transport （PAT）. Auxin does not affect AtMPKIO expression while treatment with the PAT inhibitor HFCA extends the expression in leaves and reverses the mpklO mutant phenotype. These results suggest that the AtMKK2-AtMPK10 MAPK module regulates venation complexity by altering PAT efficiency.

A New Approach for Solving Nonlinear Equations by Using of Integer Nonlinear Programming

One of the most important issues in numerical calculations is finding simple roots of nonlinear equations. This topic is one of the oldest challenges in science and engineering. Many important problems in engineering, to achieve the result need to solve a nonlinear equation. Thus, the formulation of a recursive relationship with high order of convergence and low time complexity is very important. This paper provides a modification to the Weerakoon-Fernando and Parhi-Gupta methods. It is shown that, in each iterate, the improved method requires three evaluations of the function and two evaluations of the first derivatives of function. The proposed with the Kou et al., Neta, Parhi-Gupta, Thukral and Mir et al. methods have been applied to a collection of 12 test problem. The results show that proposed approach significantly reduces the number of function calls when compared to the above methods. The numerical examples show that the proposed method is more efficiency than other methods in this class, such as sixth-order method of Parhi-Gupta or eighth-order method of Mir et al. and Thukral. We show that the order of convergence the proposed method is 9 and also, the modified method has the efficiency of .

Tunneling in submicron CMOS single-photon avalanche diodes

Tunneling is studied in two main single-photon avalanche diode （SPAD） topologies, which are r^-tub guard ring （NTGR） and p-tub guard ring （PTGR）. Device sinmlation, I - V measurements, and dark count calculations and measurements demonstrate that tunneling is the main source of noise in NTGR, but it is less dominant in PTGR SPADs. All structures are characterized with respect to dark noise, photon detection probability, tinting jitter, afterpulsing probability, and breakdown voltage. Noise performmme is disturbed because of tunneling, whereas jitter performance is disturbed because of the short diffusion time of photo-generated minority carriers in NTGR SPADs. The maximum photon detection probability is enhanced because of an improvement in absorption thickness.

Frequency Domain Approach for Face Recognition Using Optical Vanderlugt Filters

In this paper human face machine identification is experienced using optical correlation techniques in spatial frequency domain. This approach is tested on ORL dataset of faces which includes face images of 40 subjects, each in 10 different positions. The examined optical setup relies on optical correlation based on developing optical Vanderlugt filters and its basics are described in this article. With the limitation of face database of 40 persons, the recognition is examined successfully with nearly 100% of accuracy in matching the input images with their respective Vanderlugt synthesized filters. Software simulation is implemented by using MATLAB for face identification.

A Novel Model of Intelligent Electrical Load Management by Goal Programming for Smart Houses, Respecting Consumer Preferences

Energy management is being highly regarded throughout the world. High-energy consumption in residential buildings is one of the dominant reasons of excessive energy consumption. There are many recent works on the demand-side management (DSM) and smart homes to keep control on electricity consumption. The paper is an intelligence to modify patterns, by proposing a time scheduling consumers, such that they can maintain their welfare while saving benefits from time varying tariffs;a model of household loads is proposed;constraints, including daily energy requirements and consumer preferences are considered in the framework, and the model is solved using mixed integer linear programming. The model is developed for three scenarios, and the results are compared: the 1st scenario aims Peak Shaving;the 2nd minimizes Electricity Cost, and the 3rd one, which distinguishes this study from the other related works, is a combination of the 1st and 2nd Scenarios. Goal programming is applied to solve the 3rd scenario. Finally, the best schedules for household loads are presented by analyzing power distribution curves and comparing results obtained by these scenarios. It is shown that for the case study of this paper with the implementation of 3rd scenario, it is possible to gain 7% saving in the electricity cost without any increasing in the lowest peak power consumption.
