The styrene-maleic anhydride copolymer was chemically modi?ed, in the presence of formaldehyde, with 4-amino-2-hydroxybenzoic acid or 4-aminobenzoic acid giving sorbents S1 and S2, respectively. The specific sorption behaviour of S1 and S2 towards germanium(IV) was examined and optimized, the preconcentrated germanium(IV) after desorption being spectrophotometrically quantified with bis(2,3,4-trihydroxyphenylazo)benzidine in the presence of hexamethylenetetramine, phenanthroline and 2,2’-bipyridine. The dynamic sorption capacity and detection limits (3σ, n = 17) of germanium were found to be 152.2 and 127.1 mg·g–1, and 0.9 and 1.1 ng·mL–1, for S1 and S2, accordingly. The application of S1 and S2 was demonstrated for the selective preconcentration/determination of germanium in seawater and water obtained after oil pumping.

IPM-PMASR电机的设计实质上是磁体材料用量和转子结构各向异性之间的折中。各向异性设计的越好,需要的磁体材料就越少。磁体材料的增加总是有利于功率因数和电机转矩性能。不过,当需要大范围恒功率调速时,较少的磁体材料也能保证高速区的安全运行,只是逆变器发生故障时会出现短时过电压。因此,应该使转子各向异性达到最大。

Nitrogen （N） is the element with the greatest influence on the growth of vegetables and ornamentals, however, form of delivery, either as nitrate （NO3） or ammonium （NH4＋） has different effects on plant development. The NO3 is the main form of N that plants absorb, but when it is the only source of N that has slight effects on root growth, no effects over enzymatic activities, and stimulates the absorption and translocation of cations within the plant. The NH4＋ is the easiest way of assimilation but is highly toxic when the only source or with respect to the concentration of NO3 is too high. To avoid toxicity, the NH4＋ must not exceed 20% of the total N amount in the formulation, however, it is important to consider the species, variety and environmental conditions. The N as supplied also affects the resistance or susceptibility of plants to diseases, but depends on the species and the type of pathogen.

Mental Functioning of Workers with Cancer Diagnosis by Brazilian Version of the Work Role Functioning Questionnaire—WRFQ-Br

目的多巴胺D2受体基因(Drd2)的常见单核苷酸多态性(SNPs;rs 6276,6277,and 1800497)可导致多巴胺D2受体(D2R)表达与功能下降,且携带上述Drd2 SNPs的人近端肾小管上皮细胞(hRPTCs)中TGFβ1/Smad3/Snail1通路上调,细胞表达FN-1,Col 1a,vimentin等增强。本研究拟进一步研究其调控通路。方法 miRNA array比较携带Drd2 SNPs的hRPTCs(SNP hRPTCs)与野生型hRPTCs(wt hRPTCs)的表达差别;并通过基因转染、RNA干扰等确证;生物信息学分析差异miRNA的靶基因,明确其下游通路。结果 miRNA array发现SNP hRPTCs中,4个miRNAs(miR-217,miR-224,miR-335,miR-1265)表达显著下调(-10.3 to-6.0 fold),1个miRNA(miR-1290;5.3 fold)表达上调;通过在hRPTCs中上调或下调D2R表达后检测发现,miR-217、miR-224可被D2R直接调控。在hRPTCs中,通过转染靶miRNA拟似物(mimic)或抑制物(inhibitor)以上调或下调表达后发现,上调miR-217可抑制SNP hRPTCs表达TGFβ1,MMP3,Col 1a,FN-1等,而miR-224不具有该作用。序列分析发现Wnt5a是miR-217的靶基因之一,且在SNP hRPTCs中表达上调;干预miR-217表达后,Wnt5a表达存在相应显著变化。抑制Wnt5a的受体Ror2后,SNP hRPTCs表达TGFβ1,MMP3,Col 1a,FN-1等下调。结论 miR-217可通过调控其下游Wnt5a/Ror2通路的活化,介导D2R对hRPTCs上皮间充质转分化过程的抑制作用。

Aim: To evaluate data related to mental work functioning of workers with cancer diagnosis in radiotherapy in a private service in the city of Campinas, State of São Paulo, Brazil. Method: It consists in a cross-sectional, observational and analytical study with comparison between cancer patients and healthy people, using the Brazilian version of the Work Role Functioning Questionnaire (WRFQ-Br). Descriptive and statistical analysis is performed by the Mann-Whitney test. Results: There was a significant difference between the groups in the evaluation of mental demand;however, the population diagnosed with malignant neoplasm submitted to radiotherapy had unexpected higher scores, reflecting lower mental exigency. Conclusions: The observed context may occur due to extensive support of family, government and interdisciplinary team of health care for individuals diagnosed with cancer. This data provide support for new research studies related to the importance of the work to promote mental health, considering aspects related to social interaction and productivity as the support system members. The importance of disseminating these results and limitation is based in the necessity of investments to improve research and actions to promote the permanence and early return to work for cancer survivors in Brazil and Latin America.

Heat conductive properties of materials can be described by mathematical statement as direct and inverse heat transfer problem for linear parabolic equations. New General Ray (GR) method for solution of this problem is proposed. The method is based on reduction of Partial Differential Equation to assemblage of Ordinary Differential Equations using local traces for considered functions and operators. GR-method presents the solution of this type of equations by explicit analytical formulas that use the direct and inverse Radon transforms. Proposed version of GR-method is realized as algorithms and computer software faster than all known ones, based on traditional approaches. This is very important for a lot of applications, particularly at mathematical simulation in creation of nano-composite materials with special heat-conductive properties.

AIM: To investigate the frequency and severity of depression and/or anxiety in isotretinoin(ITT)-treated subjects and in a non-ITT control group. METHODS: Sixty consecutively-admitted non-psychiatric outpatients with acne were assigned to either ITT at a fixed dose of 30 mg/d(n = 36) or "other treatment" group(OT; n = 24). The Zung depression or anxiety scales(with cut-off points), two locally developed scales for depression(Ge Depr) and anxiety(Ansilet)(without cut-off points) and clinical global impression scales of acne severity were administered at baseline and at weeks 6 and 12 of treatment. Data was analyzed with the chi-squared test and covariance analysis. RESULTS: Gender distribution, age, marital status and education level did not differ between both treatment groups. The frequency of depression, as defined by the Zung scale cut-off points was similar in the ITT and in the non-ITT groups: Weeks 6 and 12: 8.3% in both groups, P = 0.9. The frequency of anxiety was similar in the groups as well: Week 6: ITT = 8.3%; OT = 0.0%, P > 0.05; week 12: ITT = 11.1%, OT = 4.2%, P > 0.05. The scores in both scales' sets did not differ between the treatment groups at any evaluation time point(P> 0.05). Five ITT-treated subjects(13.8%) and two from the OT-treated group(8.3%) developed clinically significant anxiety and/or depression during treatment(P > 0.05). CONCLUSION: Our study confirms the safety of ITT regarding psychological side effects in regular dermatological patients. Susceptible subjects may exist but their identification requires additional strategies.

To assess the impact of the key non-synonymous amino acid substitutions in the RBD of the spike protein of SARS-CoV-2 variant B.1.617.1(dominant variant identified in the current India outbreak)on the infectivity and neutralization activities of the immune sera,L452R and E484Q(L452R-E484Q variant),pseudotyped virus was constructed(with the D614G background).The impact on binding with the neutralizing antibodies was also assessed with an ELISA *** virus carrying a L452R-E484Q variant showed a comparable infectivity compared with ***,there was a significant reduction in the neutralization activity of the immune sera from non-human primates vaccinated with a recombinant receptor binding domain(RBD)protein,convalescent patients,and healthy vaccinees vaccinated with anmRNA *** addition,there was a reduction in binding of L452R-E484Q-D614G protein to the antibodies of theimmune sera fromvaccinated nonhuman *** results highlight the interplay between infectivity and other biologic factors involved in the natural evolution of *** neutralization activities against the L452R-E484Q variant will have an impact on health authority planning and implications for the vaccination strategy/newvaccine development.
