Deriving invariant checkers for critical infrastructure using axiomatic design principles

Cyber-physical systems(CPSs)in critical infrastructure face serious threats of attack,motivating research into a wide variety of defence mechanisms such as those that monitor for violations of invariants,*** properties over sensor and actuator states that should always be *** approaches for identifying invariants attempt to do so automatically,typically using data logs,but these can miss valid system properties if relevant behaviours are not well-represented in the ***,as the CPS is already built,resolving any design flaws or weak points identified through this process is *** this paper,we propose a systematic method for deriving invariants from an analysis of a CPS design,based on principles of the axiomatic design methodology from design *** method iteratively decomposes a high-level CPS design to identify sets of dependent design parameters(*** and actuators),allowing for invariants and invariant checkers to be derived in parallel to the implementation of the *** apply our method to the designs of two CPS testbeds,SWaT and WADI,deriving a suite of invariant checkers that are able to detect a variety of single-and multi-stage attacks without any false ***,we reflect on the strengths and weaknesses of our approach,how it can be complemented by other defence mechanisms,and how it could help engineers to identify and resolve weak points in a design before the controllers of a CPS are implemented.

Tracking leaf area index and coefficient of light extinction over the harvesting cycle of black wattle

The amount of photosynthetic radiation inter- cepted by a crop is a function of the incident solar radiation on the plants, the leaf area index （lAI）, and the light extinction coefficient （k）. We quantified lAI and k in stands of black wattle （Acacia mearnsii De Wild.） over a 7-year growth cycle at two locations in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. Our study was conducted in commercial stands in agroecological regions with high densities of black wattle plantations. lAI was calculated as the ratio between the leaf area of a tree and its planting space, and k was derived from Beer＇s law. lAI depends on the planting site and stand age. Between the two sites, the lAI was similar over time, the amount of variation differed. Values of k depended only on stand age, with the highest average observed for stands up to 5 years old. The trend of k during the plantation cycle was inversely proportional to lAI and was correlated with lAI, leaf area, leaf dry mass, canopy volume, height, branches dry mass, total dry mass, and crown diameter.

Uterine Arteriovenous Malformation Acquired after Cesarean Section: A Case Report

Background: Uterine arteriovenous malformation (AVM) is a rare, potentially life-threatening cause of abnormal uterine bleeding that can be acquired following a cesarean section. The diagnosis is difficult, often misdiagnosed with retained products of conception and placenta accreta. Transarterial embolization (TAE) is an efficacious and effective method of treating AVM, particularly in patients of reproductive age. Case Report: A 41-year-old, nulliparous woman, started with a history of abnormal uterine bleeding 30 days after a cesarean section. She didn’t have anaemia and beta-human chorionic gonadotropin (beta-hCG) was negative. The transvaginal color Doppler ultrasound showed multiple vascular channels within myometrium showing colored mosaic patterns suggesting AVM, confirmed by Magnetic Resonance Imaging. SUSPENSYS公司为其车轴产品采用德国FAG公司生产的无需调整和润滑的新组合轴承。因传统的螺纹紧固件不能为该组合轴承提供稳定的紧固性能,也不能满足新轴承重复使用的要求,故此组合轴承采用司百诺公司的专利螺纹技术并采用转角扭矩拧紧法。司百诺内螺纹齿型不仅非常有效地抵抗横向振动的影响,横向振动是导致传统螺纹松动的主要原因,而且使施加的纯扭矩或扭矩-转角与预紧力之间的关系更加一致。试验证明采用这种螺纹技术结合转角扭矩法能满足新的组合轴承对螺栓连接的要求。最后确定装配线上的螺纹连接的转角扭矩拧紧工艺。发动机行业大量采用螺纹连接,人们一直研究如何获得有效可靠的螺纹连接,此论文可为许多发动机工程师提供有价值的参考。

Comparison of Tongue and lip Trills with Phonation of the Sustained Vowel /<i>ε</i>/ Regarding the Periodicity of the Electroglottographic Waveform and the Amplitude of the Electroglottographic Signal

Aim: The aim is to compare the vocal fold vibration seen during lip and tongue trills with that seen during phonation of the sustained vowel /ε/, in terms of the periodicity of the EGG waveform and the amplitude of the EGG signal, in professional voice users. Study design: This was a quasi-experimental study. Methods: We used electroglottography (EGG) to compare the vocal fold vibration seen during tongue and lip trills with that seen during phonation of the sustained vowel /ε/, in terms of the EGG waveform periodicity and signal amplitude, in 10 classically trained, professional singers. The participants produced the sustained vowel /ε/ and performed tongue and lip trills at the same frequency and intensity. The periodicity of the waveform and the amplitude of the signal were visually analyzed by three blinded, experienced readers. To confirm the visual analysis results, we measured the jitter and shimmer of the signal and the frequency of variation in vocal fold vibration during the trill exercises. Results: The EGG waveform was classified as periodic for the sustained vowel phonation task and as quasi-periodic for the trill exercises, the vibration pattern repeating at approximately 24 Hz. Conclusion: The vibration of the vocal folds was modified according to the supraglottic movement in trills exercises.

Probabilistic Distributions for <i>Acacia Mearnsii</i>De Wild Total Height and the Influence of Environmental Factors

This paper discusses the hypothesis of height distribution on a forest stand of Acacia mearnsii De Wild, known as black wattle. It remains constant at varied growing environments and, in addition, they are not influenced by age factor. The Wakeby equation was applied. The research was carried out in a black wattle stand at varied age levels and over two different agroecological regions where plantations are found: Serra do Sudeste and Encosta do Sudeste, Rio Grande do Sul State, Brazil. It was observed that as the age rises there is an increase in the stand total height;while the number of trees decreases for the lower classes, it increases for the upper ones. This resulted in lengthening of the curve tail to the left and mode shift to the right, generating negative asymmetrical curves. Two types of height distribution were found: the sharp increase of probability in a specific class and some similar probabilities in successive classes. The distribution curves between the cultivation areas were statistically different and therefore the height distribution was dependent of environment.

Age and Calcium Sources in laying Hen Feed Affect Calcium Digestibility

The apparent calcium (Ca) digestibility coefficient (ADC) and true digestibility coefficient (TDC) of different inorganic calcium sources were determined in laying hens of different ages. Three Ca digestibility tests were carried out, each assessing 240 Lohmann Brown lineage laying hens distributed in a completely randomized design. Nine dietary treatments were arranged in a 3 × 3 factorial design consisting of three ages (40, 50 and 70 weeks) × three Ca (dicalcium phosphate (DCP) sources, fine (FL) and coarse (CL)) limestone, comprising eight replicates per treatment of six birds per experimental unit. Regarding the DCP, the ADC was higher (P as 0.889, 0.613 and 0.712, respectively. No effect (P > 0.05) of age on the ADC was noted for either FL or CL. Comparing Ca sources, DCP exhibited a higher (P ollowed by Fl (0.699) and Cl (0.515), in 40-week-old birds. DCP (0.712) and Fl (0.652) presented (P l (0.482), in 70-week-old birds. No effect of Ca sources at 50 weeks on the ADC was observed (P > 0.05). Endogenous loss values of 790, 860 and 930 mg·kg
