Non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC)is often characterized by an underlying mutation in the epidermal growth factor receptor(EGFR),contributing to aggressive metastatic *** 2-cyano-3,11-dioxo-18 beta-olean-1,12-dien-30-oate(CDODA-Me),a glycyrrhetinic acid derivative,reportedly improves the therapeutic response to erlotinib(ERL),an EGFR tyrosine kinase *** the present study,we performed a series of studies to demonstrate the efficacy of CDODA-Me(2μM)in sensitizing HCC827 R(ERL-resistant)cells to ***,we first established the selectivity of ERL-induced drug resistance in the HCC827 R cells,which was sensitized when ERL was combined with CDODA-Me(2μM),shifting the IC50 from 23.48μM to 5.46μ***,whole transcriptomic microarray expression data demonstrated that the combination of ERL+CDODA-Me elicited 210 downregulated genes(0.44%of the whole transcriptome(WT))and 174 upregulated genes(0.36%of the WT),of which approximately 80%were unique to the ERL+CDODA-Me *** effects centered on losses to cell cycle progression transcripts,a reduction of minichromosome maintenance complex components(MCM2-7),all key components of the Cdc45·MCM2-7 GINS(CMG)complex,and replicative helicases;these effects were tantamount to the upregulation of processes associated with the nuclear factor erythroid 2 like 2 translational response to oxidative stress,including sulfiredoxin 1,heme oxygenase 1,and stress-induced growth inhibitor ***,these findings indicate that the synergistic therapeutic effects of ERL+CDODA-Me on resistant NSCLC cells are mediated via the inhibition of mitosis and induction of oxidative stress.

The prime object in this article is to study an almostη-Ricci-Yamabe soliton and gradient almostη-Ricci-Yamabe soliton within the framework of almost Kenmotsu *** is shown that normal almost Kenmotsu manifold admitting an almostη-Ricci-Yamabe soliton or gradientη-Ricci-Yamabe soliton is locally isometric to hyperbolic space H^(2n+1)(-1).Next,we prove that if a(κ,μ)almost Kenmotsu manifold admits an almostη-Ricci-Yamabe soliton,then the manifold isη-***,we find the condition for non-normal almost Kenmotsu manifolds acknowledging gradient almostη-Ricci-Yamabe ***,an almostη-Ricci-Yamabe soliton on(κ,μ)’-almost Kenmotsu manifold has been ***,we construct an example of a gradient almostη-Ricci-Yamabe soliton on a 3-dimensional Kenmotsu manifold.

Effect of residual Doppler averaging on the probe absorption in an alkali vapor medium in the presence of a coherent pump beam is studied analytically for the Ξ type system. A coherent probe field is assumed to connect the ground level with the intermediate level whereas a coherent control beam is supposed to act between the intermediate energy level and the uppermost level. Optical Bloch equations（OBE） for a three-level Ξ type system and a four-level Ξ type system are derived by using density matrix formalism. These equations are solved by an analytic method to determine the probe response, which not only depends on the wavelength difference between the control（pump） field and the probe field but shows substantially different features depending on whether the wavelength of the control field is greater than that of the probe field or the reverse. The effect of temperature on probe response is also shown. Enhancement in probe absorption and additional features are noticed under a strong probe limit at room temperature. The four-level Ξ type system has two ground levels and this leads to substantial modification in the simulated probe absorption as compared to the three-level system.

Flow through submerged rigid vegetation has been studied both analytically and *** Reynolds stress,present in the governing equation,has been modeled using one of the turbulent stress equations,adopted in numerous *** adva ntage of this turbulent stress model is to replace the mixing length non linear term of the stress with a linear relatio n between stress and the velocity *** velocity field and shear stress are obtained by solving the governing force balance equation numerically.A correlation,validated with the experimental results,has been developed for the relevant non-dimensional numbers.

Given the challenges of re-creating complex bed load(BL)transport processes in rivers,models are preferred over gathering and examining field *** highlight of the present research is to develop an approach to determine the ungauged bed load concentration(BLC_(u))utilizing the measured suspended sediment concentration(SSC)and hydraulic variables of the last four decades for the Mahanadi River *** technique employs shear stress and SSC equations for turbulent open channel ***,the predicted BLC_(u)is correlated with SSC using a power relation to estimate BLC_(u)on the river and ***,different BL functions(BLF)efficiency is assessed across *** model predicted BLC_(u)is comparable with the published data for sandy rivers and falls within±20%.Outliers in hydraulic and sedimentological statistics significantly influence estimating the BL fraction apart from higher relative ratios and catchment *** constants of power functions are physically linked to sediment transport configuration,mechanism,and inflow to the *** stream power-based BLF best predicts the BL transport,followed by shear stress and unit discharge *** disparity in the estimation of BLC_(u)results from station-specific physical factors,sampling data dispersion,and associated uncertainties.

The purpose of the present paper is to deliberate *-conformal Yamabe soliton,whose potential vector field is torse-forming on Kenmotsu ***,we have shown the nature of the soliton and find the scalar curvature when the manifold admitting *-conformal Yamabe soliton on Kenmotsu ***,we have evolved the characterization of the vector field when the manifold satisfies *-conformal Yamabe *** we have embellished some applications of vector field as torse-forming in terms of *-conformal Yamabe soliton on Kenmotsu *** have developed an example of *-conformal Yamabe soliton on 3-dimensional Kenmotsu manifold to prove our findings.

This article describes a novel approach for deciding optimal horizontal extent of soil domain to be used for finite element based numerical dynamic soil structure interaction(SSI)*** model for a 12 storied building frame,supported on pile foundation-soil system,is developed in the finite element based software framework,*** different structure-foundation configurations are analyzed under different ground motion *** extent of soil domain,along with the soil properties,were varied exhaustively for a particular structural *** on the reduction in the variation of acceleration response at different locations in the SSI system(quantified by normalized root mean square error,NRMSE),the optimum lateral extent of the soil domain is prescribed for various structural widths,soil types and peak ground acceleration levels of ground *** to the past studies,error estimation analysis shows that the relationships prescribed in the present study are credible and more inclusive of the various factors that influence *** relationships can be readily applied for deciding upon the lateral extent of the soil domain for conducting precise SSI analysis with reduced computational time.

Analysis of flow over backward facing step with transition

The present study deals with the study of the velocity distribution and the separation phenomenon of flow of air over a two dimensional backward facing step. The flow of air over a backward facing step has been investigated numerically using FLUENT. Flow simulation has been carried out in a backward facing step having an expansion ratio （ratio of the height before and after the step） of 1：1.94 and the results obtained are compared with the published experimental results. Comparison of flow characteristics between steps with three different transitions is made. The variation ofreattachment length for all the three cases are analyzed for wide range of Reynolds number ranging from 100 to 7000 which covers the laminar, transition and turbulent flow of air. Simulation of the flow over steps with expansion ratios of 1：1.24, 1：1.38, 1：1.47, 1：1.53, 1：1.94, 1：2.20 are also carried out to examine the effect of different expansion ratios on the reattachment length. It is found that the primary reattachment length increases with increase in the expansion ratio. The primary reattachment length at the bottom wall downstream of the step is minimum for the step with round edged transition and maximum for the step with a vertical drop transition.

The main hindrances to the large-scale development of renewable-energy projects are the lack of bankability and the inability to align investments and investors with suitable financial instruments or robust policy *** illustrate a bankable project,this paper presents a research-based case study on the installation of solar photovoltaic panels on the rooftops of 195 trains of the Indian *** information on the annual running hours,exposure to sunlight,efficiency of solar photovoltaic generation and electrical power demands of each rail coach is considered to conduct a quantitative measure of the tentative amount of fossil fuel *** purpose is to provide insight into the types of renewable-energy projects that can be highly attractive to financial institutions and promoters due to their lucrative internal return on *** seen in this case study,there are annual savings in diesel of 12323088 litres and a CO_(2) reduction of 32755 tonnes,with return on investment of 1.3 ***,this study conducts a com-prehensive analysis of the limitations of existing renewable-energy project financing mechanisms in ***,three policy measures are recommended to develop a robust financial mechanism that can effectively meet the needs of investors and *** measures include increasing equity injection through a buy-and-hold strategy,providing direct tax benefits to promoters and financing through real-estate investment *** findings are highly relevant to address the challenges associated with bridging the financial gap between access to finance and capital investment in the renewable-energy sector,especially for Asian countries.
