The assessm.nt of the radiological concentration of 134Cs and 137Cs owing to hypothetical accident of TRIGA m.rk-II research Reactor at AERE, Savar, Bangladesh is presented here in this work. The concentration of 134Cs and 137Cs was estim.ted in different pathways consisting of the ingestion of plants, m.lk, and m.at. The highest air concentration has been determ.ned at 65 m.distance from.the core of the reactor. The m.xim.m.concentration passed off without delay sim.ly after the accident in various directions. Local m.teorological inform.tion such as average wind velocity and wind frequency were analyzed. Considering all directions, the highest concentration has been observed in the “S” direction. The concentrations of 134Cs and 137Cs were determ.ned in ground, vegetation, m.lk and m.at. The concentration of 137Cs is investigated to be higher than the 134Cs. The concentration of 134Cs and 137Cs was found to be lower in vegetation, m.lk, and m.at than that of ground concentration. Overall, in this study, the concentration in m.at has been investigated to be lower. In case of a reactor accident, the concentration assessm.nt due to the ingestion of vegetables, m.lk, and m.at will be a valuable guide for insuring radiological protection across the research reactor at AERE, Savar, Bangladesh.

Radio frequency identification(RFID) is a ubiquitous identification technology nowadays. An on-chip high-perform.nce transm.t/receive(T/R) switch is designed and sim.lated in 0.13-μm.Cm.S technology for reader-less RFID tag. The switch utilizes only the transistor width and length(W/L) optim.zation, proper gate bias resistor and resistive body floating technique and therefore,exhibits 1 d B insertion loss, 31.5 d B isolation and 29.2 d Bm.1-d B com.ression point(P1d B). m.reover, the switch dissipates only786.7 n W power for 1.8/0 V control voltages and is capable of switching in 794 fs. Above all, as there is no inductor or capacitor used in the circuit, the size of the switch is 0.00208 m.2 only. This switch will be appropriate for reader-less RFID tag transceiver front-end as well as other wireless transceivers operated at 2.4 GHz band.

Hexagonal and triangular Au m.croplates extending over an area of~12,000μm.(2) with thickness in the range 30-1000 nm.have been synthesized using a single step therm.lysis of(AuCl_(4))^(-)-tetraoctylam.onium.brom.de com.lex in *** m.croplates are self-supporting and can be easily m.nipulated using a sharp pin,a property which enables them.to serve as substrates for living *** m.croplate surface is non-toxic to living cells and can enhance the fluorescence signal from.fluorophores residing within the cell by an order of *** addition,the m.croplates are sm.oth and single-crystalline,and ideal as m.croscopy substrates and m.lecular *** growth of the m.croplates in the initial stages is interesting in that they seem.to grow perpendicular to the substrate,as evidenced by in situ m.croscopy.

为提高骨缺损修复的治疗效果,设计孔隙率为78.8%、70.8%、62.6%和54.4%的梯度多孔钛支架(分别表示为P1,P2,P3和P4),并通过选择性激光熔化技术进行制备。通过模拟和实验方法研究支架的成形性、显微组织、力学性能和渗透性能。模拟结果表明,4种梯度结构的最大等效应力和渗透性分别在569.1~1469.0m.a和(21.7~54.6)×10^(−9)m.(2)范围内,并且P3和P4具有更小的最大等效应力,表明P3和P4具有更高的强度。P3和P4结构支架的显微组织为α'马氏体,屈服强度和弹性模量分别为185.3~250.8m.a和6.1~9.7GPa。相比于P3结构支架,P4结构支架展现出更高的强度和与皮质骨更加匹配的弹性模量,并且其渗透性(18.6×10^(−9)m.(2))在人体骨组织渗透性范围内。因此,具有P4结构支架有望被应用于骨科植入领域。

Objective: To investigate the hepatoprotective efficacy of cranberry extract(CBE)against carbon tetrachloride(CCl4)-induced hepatic injury using in-vivo anim.l ***: The hepatoprotective efficacy of CBE(200 and 400 m./kg) was investigated against CCl4(4 m.L/kg)-induced hepatotoxicity, elevated liver enzym.s [ALT(alanine am.notransferase), AST(aspartate am.notransferase), and alkaline phosphatase(ALP)],and total protein(TP) contents in the serum. m.reover, CBE-aided antioxidant defense against hepatotoxic insult of CCl4 was m.asured by evaluating a num.er of anti-oxidative biom.rkers including reduced glutathione(GSH), superoxide dism.tase(SOD), catalase(CAT), and m.londialdehyde(m.A) in the serum.by using spectrophotom.tric ***: Results showed that the exposure of experim.ntal anim.ls to CCl4 did induce significant hepatotoxicity com.ared to the non-induced(untreated) group. The oral adm.nistration of CBE dem.nstrated a significant dose-dependent alleviation in the liver enzym.s(AST, ALT, and ALP), increased antioxidant defense(GSH, SOD, and CAT),and reduced m.A levels in the serum.of treated anim.ls com.ared to the anim.ls without treatm.nt. The resulting data showed that the adm.nistration of CBE decreased the serum.levels of ALT, AST, and ALP com.ared to the CCl4-induced ***: The resulting data evidenced that CBE exhibits prom.sing hepatoprotective potential against the chem.cal induced hepatotoxicity, m.intains hom.ostasis in liver enzym.s, and can provide significant antioxidant defense against free radicals-induced oxidative stress.

Energy storage is an essential part in effective utilization of Renewable Energy (RE). m.st RE sources cannot provide constant energy supply and introduce a potential unbalance in generation and dem.nd, especially in off-peak periods when RE generates m.re energy and in peak period when load dem.nd rises too high. Storage allows interm.ttent sources like solar Photovoltaic (PV) to address tim.ly load dem.nd and adds flexibility in load m.nagem.nt. This paper analyses the significance of storage for residential load considering solar PV as RE generator. The significance of storage was evaluated in off-grid or stand alone and grid connected configurations. m.reover it outlined the significance of storage in term. of environm.nt and econom.cs by com.aring the Renewable Fraction (RF), Greenhouse Gas (GHG) em.ssion, Cost of Energy (COE) and Net Present Cost (NPC). Investigation showed that storage has positive influences on both (off-grid and grid connected) configurations by im.roving PV utilization. It was found that in grid connected configuration storage reduced 46.47% of GHG em.ssion, reduced COE, NPC and im.roved RF com.ared to the system.without storage.

The potential of several endophytic Trichoderm. isolates, isolated from.healthy oil palm.roots was assessed against Ganoderm. boninense (PER71), the causal agent of Basal Stem.Rot (BSR) disease through in vitro screening. In the dual culture assay, all endophytic Trichoderm. isolates were found to be capable of inhibiting the growth of PER71 m.celium. by causing m.re than 70% inhibition of the pathogen’s radial growth (PIRG). Trichoderm. asperellum.m.03 has caused the highest inhibition at 93.14%. The volatile com.ound produced by m.03 also suppressed 65% of the pathogen’s radial growth. On the other hand, T. harzianum. m.08 was found to have the ability to produce non-volatile com.ounds that is toxic and it has effectively inhibited 98.18% of the growth of PER71. Collectively, T. asperellum.m.03 and T. harzianum.m.08 have the potential to inhibit the growth of G. boninense PER71. These isolates were shown to be viable options for the future m.nagem.nt of G. boninense in the oil palm.field.
