Production of hydrogen(H2) and oxygen(O2) through electrocatalytic water splitting is one of the sustainable,green and pivotal ways to accom.lish the ever-increasing dem.nds for renewable energy sources,but rem.ins a big challenge because of the uphill reaction during overall water ***,we develop high-perform.nce non-noble m.tal electrocatalysts for pH-universal water splitting,based on nickel/vanadium.boride(NiVB) nanoparticles/reduced graphene oxide(rGO) hybrid(NiVB/rGO)through a facile chem.cal reduction approach under am.ient *** virtue of m.re exposure to surface active sites,superior electron transfer capability and strong electronic coupling,the asprepared NiVB/rGO heterostructure needs pretty low overpotentials of 267 and 151 m. to deliver a current density of 10 m. cm.(-2) for oxygen evolution reaction(OER) and hydrogen evolution reaction(HER)respectively,with the corresponding Tafel slope of 44 and 88 m. dec^(-1) in 1.0 m.***,the NiVB/rGO electrocatalysts display a prom.sing perform.nce in a wide-pH conditions that require low overpotential of 310,353 and 489 m. to drive a current density of 10 m. cm.(-2) for OER under 0.5 m.KOH,0.05 m.H2SO4 and 1.0 m.phosphate buffer solution(PBS) respectively,confirm.ng the excellent electrocata lytic perform.nce am.ng state-of-the-art Ni-based electrocatalysts for overall water ***,the interfacial tuning based on incorporation of active heterostructure m.y pave a new route to develop bifunctional,cost-effective and efficient electrocatalyst system. for water splitting and H2 production.

Radio frequency identification(RFID) is a ubiquitous identification technology nowadays. An on-chip high-perform.nce transm.t/receive(T/R) switch is designed and sim.lated in 0.13-μm.Cm.S technology for reader-less RFID tag. The switch utilizes only the transistor width and length(W/L) optim.zation, proper gate bias resistor and resistive body floating technique and therefore,exhibits 1 d B insertion loss, 31.5 d B isolation and 29.2 d Bm.1-d B com.ression point(P1d B). m.reover, the switch dissipates only786.7 n W power for 1.8/0 V control voltages and is capable of switching in 794 fs. Above all, as there is no inductor or capacitor used in the circuit, the size of the switch is 0.00208 m.2 only. This switch will be appropriate for reader-less RFID tag transceiver front-end as well as other wireless transceivers operated at 2.4 GHz band.

Radiocesium.accum.lated in the soil by nuclear accidents is a m.jor environm.ntal *** transport process of cesium.Cs^(+))is tightly linked to the indispensable plant nutrient potassium.K^(+))as they both belong to the group I alkali m.tals with sim.lar chem.cal *** of the transporters that had been characterized to date as Cs*transporters are directly or indirectly linked to K^(+).Using a com.inatorial approach of physiology,genetics,cell biology,and root uptake assay,here we identified two ATP-binding cassette(ABC)proteins,ABCG37 and ABCG33,as facilitators of Cs^(+)influx.A gain-of-function m.tant of ABCG37(abcg37-1)showed increased sensitivity to Cs^(+)-induced root growth inhibition,while the double knockout m.tant of ABCG33 and ABCG37(abcg33-1abcg37-2)showed resistance,whereas the single loss-of-function m.tants of ABCG33 and ABCG37 did not show any alteration in Cs^(+)*** planta short-term.radioactive Cs^(+)-uptake assay along with growth and uptake assays in a heterologous system.confirm.d ABCG33 and ABCG37 as Cs^(+)-uptake *** response and content were unaffected in the double-m.tant background and yeast cells lacking potassium.uptake carriers transform.d with ABCG33 and ABCG37 failed to grow in the absence of K^(+),confirm.ng that Cs^(+)uptake by ABCG33 and ABCG37 is independent of K^(+).Collectively,this work identified two ABC proteins as new Cs^(+)-influx carriers that act redundantly and independent of the K^(+)-uptake pathway.

Hexagonal and triangular Au m.croplates extending over an area of~12,000μm.(2) with thickness in the range 30-1000 nm.have been synthesized using a single step therm.lysis of(AuCl_(4))^(-)-tetraoctylam.onium.brom.de com.lex in *** m.croplates are self-supporting and can be easily m.nipulated using a sharp pin,a property which enables them.to serve as substrates for living *** m.croplate surface is non-toxic to living cells and can enhance the fluorescence signal from.fluorophores residing within the cell by an order of *** addition,the m.croplates are sm.oth and single-crystalline,and ideal as m.croscopy substrates and m.lecular *** growth of the m.croplates in the initial stages is interesting in that they seem.to grow perpendicular to the substrate,as evidenced by in situ m.croscopy.

Energy storage is an essential part in effective utilization of Renewable Energy (RE). m.st RE sources cannot provide constant energy supply and introduce a potential unbalance in generation and dem.nd, especially in off-peak periods when RE generates m.re energy and in peak period when load dem.nd rises too high. Storage allows interm.ttent sources like solar Photovoltaic (PV) to address tim.ly load dem.nd and adds flexibility in load m.nagem.nt. This paper analyses the significance of storage for residential load considering solar PV as RE generator. The significance of storage was evaluated in off-grid or stand alone and grid connected configurations. m.reover it outlined the significance of storage in term. of environm.nt and econom.cs by com.aring the Renewable Fraction (RF), Greenhouse Gas (GHG) em.ssion, Cost of Energy (COE) and Net Present Cost (NPC). Investigation showed that storage has positive influences on both (off-grid and grid connected) configurations by im.roving PV utilization. It was found that in grid connected configuration storage reduced 46.47% of GHG em.ssion, reduced COE, NPC and im.roved RF com.ared to the system.without storage.
