TNF-α release capacity is suppressed immediately after hemorrhage andresuscitation

Purpose： It has been suggested that patients with traumatic insults are resuscitated into a state of an early systemic inflammatory response. We aimed to evaluate the influence of hemorrhagic shock and resuscitation （HSR） upon the inflammatory response capacity assessed by overall TNF-α secretion capacity of the host compared to its release from circulating leukocytes in peripheral circulation. Methods： Rats （8/group） subjected to HS （MAP of 30e35 mmHg for 90 min followed by resuscitation over 50 min） were challenged with Lipopolysaccharide （LPS）, 1 mg/kg intravenously at the end of resuscitation （HSR-LPS group） or 24 h later （HSR-LPS24 group）. Control animals were injected with LPS without bleeding （LPS group）. Plasma TNF-α was measured at 90 min after the LPS challenge. In addition, whole blood （WB） was obtained either from healthy controls （CON） immediately after resuscitation （HSR）, or at 24 h post-shock （HSR 24）. WB was incubated with LPS （100 ng/mL） for 2 h at 37 C. TNF-α concentration and LPS binding capacity （LBC） was determined. Results： Compared to LPS group, HSR followed by LPS challenge resulted in suppression of plasma TNF-a in HSR-LPS and HSR-LPS24 groups （1835 ± 478, 273 ± 77, 498 ± 200 pg/mL, respectively）. Compared to CON the LPS-induced TNF-a release capacity of circulating leukocytes ex vivo was strongly declined both at the end of resuscitation （HSR） and 24 h later （HSR24）（1012 ± 259, 313 ± 154, 177 ± 63 ng TNF/mL, respectively）. The LBC in WB was similar between CON and HSR and only moderately enhanced in HSR24 （57 ± 6, 56 ± 6, 71 ± 5 %, respectively）. Conclusion： Our data suggest that the overall inflammatory response capacity is decreased immediately after HSR, persisting up to 24 h, and is independent of LBC.

Entanglement detection in the mixed-spin Ising–XY model

In the present work, we initially verify anisotropy effect on the heat capacity of a mixed-three-spin （1/2,1,1/2） system （where spins （1/2,1/2） have XY interaction and spins （1,1/2） have Ising interaction together） at finite temperatures, then, the pairwise entanglement for spins （1/2,1/2）, by means of negativity （as a measure of entanglement） as a function of the temperature T, homogeneous magnetic field B, and anisotropy parameter 7 is investigated. In addition, we show that one can find magnetic phase transition points for the spins （1/2,1/2） at finite temperatures and understand properly their behavior with respect to the magnetic field and the anisotropy parameter, via the negativity function. An interval of the magnetic field from the negativity diagram of the spins （1/2,1/2） is presented in which quantum phase transition occurs for the tripartite mixed-three-spin system. FinaUy, some new interesting entanglement witnesses are introduced by using non-degenerate perturbation theory for the mixed-three-spin system.

Sensing the heavy water concentration in an H_(2)O-D_(2)O mixture by solid-solid phononic crystals

A new method based on phononic crystals is presented to detect the concentration of heavy water(D_(2)O)in an H_(2)O-D_(2)O *** have been obtained and analyzed in the concentration range of 0%-10%and 90%-100%D_(2)O.A proposed structure of tungsten scatterers in an aluminum host is *** order to detect the target material,a cavity region is considered as a sound wave resonator in which the target material with different concentrations of D_(2)O is *** changing the concentration of D_(2)O in the H_(2)O-D_(2)O mixture,the resonance frequency undergoes a frequency *** 1%change in D_(2)O concentration in the H_(2)O-D_(2)O mixture causes a frequency change of about 120 *** finite element method is used as the numerical method to calculate and analyze the natural frequencies and transmission spectra of the proposed *** performance evaluation index shows a high Q factor up to 1475758 and a high sensitivity up to 13075,which are acceptable values for sensing *** other figures of merit related to the detection performance also indicate high-quality performance of the designed sensor.

Multiple Quantum Coherences(MQ) NMR and Entanglement Dynamics in the Mixed-Three-Spin XXX Heisenberg Model with Single-Ion Anisotropy

We analytically investigate Multiple Quantum(MQ) NMR dynamics in a mixed-three-spin(1/2,1,1/2)system with XXX Heisenberg model at the front of an external homogeneous magnetic field B. A single-ion anisotropy property ζ is considered for the spin-1. The intensities dependence of MQ NMR coherences on their orders(zeroth and second orders) for two pairs of spins(1,1/2) and(1/2,1/2) of the favorite tripartite system are obtained. It is also investigated dynamics of the pairwise quantum entanglement for the bipartite(sub)systems(1,1/2) and(1/2,1/2)permanently coupled by, respectively, coupling constants J_1 and J_2, by means of concurrence and fidelity. Then, some straightforward comparisons are done between these quantities and the intensities of MQ NMR coherences and ultimately some interesting results are reported. We also show that the time evolution of MQ coherences based on the reduced density matrix of the pair spins(1,1/2) is closely connected with the dynamics of the pairwise entanglement. Finally, we prove that one can introduce MQ coherence of the zeroth order corresponds to the pair spins(1,1/2) as an entanglement witness at some special time intervals.

Integer quantum Hall effect in Kekulé-patterned graphene

Y-shaped Kekulébond textures in a honeycomb lattice on a graphene-copper superlattice have recently been experimentally *** this paper,the effects of such a bond modulation on the transport coefficients of Kekulé-patterned graphene are investigated in the presence of a perpendicular magnetic *** expressions are derived for the Hall and longitudinal conductivities using the Kubo *** is found that the Y-shaped Kekulébond texture lifts the valley degeneracy of all Landau levels except that of the zero mode,leading to additional plateaus in the Hall conductivity accompanied by a split of the corresponding peaks in the longitudinal ***,the Hall conductivity is quantized as±ne^(2)/h for n=2,4,6,8,10,...,excluding some plateaus that disappear due to the complete overlap of the Landau levels of different *** results also suggest that DC Hall conductivity measurements will allow us to determine the Kekulébond texture amplitude.

Transferring information through a mixed-five-spin chain channel

We initially introduce one-dimensional mixed-five-spin chain with Ising-XY model which includes mixture of spins-1/2 and spins-1. Here, it is considered that nearest spins（1, 1/2） have Ising-type interaction and nearest spins（1/2, 1/2）have both XY-type and Dzyaloshinskii–Moriya（DM） interactions together. Nearest spins（1, 1） have X X Heisenberg interaction. This system is in the vicinity of an external homogeneous magnetic field B in thermal equilibrium state. We promote the quantum information transmitting protocol verified for a normal spin chain with simple model（refer to Rossini D, Giovannetti V and Fazio R 2007 Int. J. Quantum Infor. 5 439）（widely in reference： Giovannetti V and Fazio R 2005 Phys. Rev. A 71 032314） by means of considering the suggested mixed-five-spin chain as a quantum communication channel for transmitting both qubits and qutrits ideally. Hence, we investigate some useful quantities such as quantum capacity and quantum information transmission rate for the system. Finally, we conclude that, when the DM interaction between spins（1/2, 1/2） increases the system is a more ideal channel for transmitting information.

The effects of the welding current mode in resistance spot welding on the microstructure and mechanical properties of advanced high-strength steel dual-phase 590(DP590)sheets were *** showed that a rough martensitic structure was formed in the weld zone of the sample welded via the single-pulsed mode,whereas the microstructure in the heat-affected zone consisted of a very rough martensitic microstructure and rough ***,using the secondary pulse mode led to the formation of tempered martensite in the weld *** maximum load and the energy absorption to failure of the samples with the secondary pulsed cycle were higher than those of the samples with the single-pulsed *** shear results indicated that the secondary pulsed mode could significantly change the mode of failure upon shear tension ***,the obtained results suggest that the use of secondary pulsed mode can improve the microstructural feature and mechanical properties of advanced high-strength steel DP590 welds.

Experimental investigation of surfactant adsorption during EOR and soil pollution control processes:Influence of surfactant concentration,water salinity,and clay type

Surfactant injection is a well-established method of chemical EOR *** adsorption into clay layers can prevent their proper performance and thus reduce the oil recovery *** the other hand,this adsorption property of clay materials can be used to prevent surface and underground water pollution and reduce soil *** this experimental study,the effect of surfactant concentration,electrolyte type(NaCl and MgCl_(2)),and the solution salinity on fluid adsorption into the interlayer space of different clay types(bentonite and kaolinite)was *** analysis was conducted on two relevant clay samples,and immersion and Washburn tests were performed on the desired samples with the Sigma 700 ***,according to the clay type,the most optimal conditions were introduced for the surfactant solution used in the two areas of EOR and environmental processes related to reducing soil *** the EOR processes,the optimal condition for the lowest adsorption amount is C(with 1 CMC concentration and salinity of 100,000 ppm for NaCl salt).This fluid works better in kaolinite *** the environmental field related to the reduction of soil pollution,if the pollutants we are looking for are R and S(with alkyl benzene sulfonic acid as the dominant agent),bentonite has a better performance than kaolinite in terms of adsorption and subsequently pollution *** the polluting fluid contains MgCl_(2) ions in the exact salinity values,the adsorption amount and soil pollution control will be higher for both adsorbent clays than if our fluid has NaCl *** study's findings have a wide range of applications in surfactant flooding designs,surfactant adsorption optimization,and can be generalized to other detergent types.

Modified-DBR-based semi-omnidirectional multilayer anti-reflection coating for tandem solar cells

In this paper, multilayer antireflection coatings are designed by modifying the thickness of two and three paired layer distributed Bragg reflector （DBR） structure. Our proposed DBR-based structures show antireflection behaviors, in spite of the reflection treatment in traditional DBR structures. Firstly, the proposed structures are designed to be equivalent to the theoretical ideal triple-layer （TL） antireflection coating （ARC）. Therefore, the problem of finding a suitable material for the middle layer of triple structure is solved. Simulation results show the significant equivalency for the reflectance of proposed structures to the ideal TL ARC at the same wavelengths and incident angles. Also, the design of the structure is changed in order to present the constant reflectance coefficient over a wide range of wavelengths. This structure enhances the omni-directionality of the multilayer ARC.
