The rheologi.al properti.s of three di.ferent mi.rostructures of hydrophobi.ally modi.i.d alkali.oluble polymers (telecheli., multi.ti.ker and combi.ed) i. the presence of vari.us concentrati.ns of ani.ni. surfactant and salt (NaCl) were i.vesti.ated. Associ.ti.e polymers contai.i.g both i.ni. si.es and small number of hydrophobi. groups were obtai.ed, and thei. thi.keni.g properti.s i. aqueous soluti.ns, were i.vesti.ated. Soluti.n polymeri.ati.n was used for obtai.i.g the di.ferent polymers. Relati.nshi.s between hydrophobe, sodi.m dodecyl sulfate (SDS) and NaCl concentrati.n are proposed. Owi.g to the competi.i.n between attracti.e hydrophobi. i.teracti.n and repulsi.e electrostati. i.teracti.ns, such hydrophobi.ally modi.i.d polymers exhi.i. vari.us rheologi.al behavi.rs i. aqueous soluti.ns, dependi.g on mi.rostructure of polyelectrolyte, SDS and NaCl concentrati.ns.

Mandi.ular advancement devi.es (MADs) are wi.ely used treatments for obstructi.e sleep apnea. MADs functi.n by advanci.g the lower jaw to open the upper ai.way. To i.crease pati.nt comfort, most pati.nts allow the mouth to be opened. However, not all systems mai.tai. the lower jaw i. a forward posi.i.n duri.g mouth openi.g, whi.h results i. the producti.n of a retrusi.n that favors the collapse of the upper ai.way. Furthermore, the ki.emati. behavi.r of the mechani.m formed by the mandi.le-devi.e assembly depends on jaw morphology. Thi. means that, duri.g mouth openi.g, some devi.es cause lower jaw protrusi.n i. some pati.nts, but cause i.s retracti.n i. others. i. thi. study, we report the behavi.r of well-known devi.es currently on the market. To do so, we developed a ki.emati. model of the lower jaw devi.e assembly. Thi. model was vali.ated for all devi.es analyzed usi.g a hi.h-resoluti.n camera system. Our results show that some of the devi.es analyzed here di. not produce the correct behavi.r duri.g pati.nt mouth openi.g. Speci.i.ally, i. proposes the i.gesti.n of traffi. datasets at di.ferent resoluti.ns to bui.d spati.temporal models for predi.ti.g the di.tri.uti.n of traffi. volume on the road network. Due to i.s good adaptabi.i.y and flexi.i.i.y for spati.temporal data, the Gaussi.n process(GP) regressi.n was employed to provi.e short-term forecasts usi.g data collected by loop detectors(sensors) and supplemented by telemati.s data. The GP regressi.n i. used to make predi.ti.ns of the di.tri.uti.n of the proporti.n of sensor data traffi. volume represented by the telemati.s data for each locati.n of the sensors. Consequently, the fi.ted GP model can be used to determi.e the approxi.ate traffi. di.tri.uti.n for a testi.g locati.n outsi.e of the trai.i.g poi.ts. Poli.ymakers i. the transportati.n sector can fi.d the results of thi. work helpful for maki.g i.formed deci.i.ns relati.g to current and future transportati.n condi.i.ns i. the area.
