Electric vehicles(EV)are proposed as a measure to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in transport and support increased wind power penetration across modern power *** benefits can only be achieved,if EVs are deployed effectively,so that the exhaust emissions are not substituted by additional emissions in the electricity sector,which can be implemented using Smart Grid *** research presents the results of an EV roll-out in the all island grid(AIG)in Ireland using the long term generation expansion planning model called the Wien Automatic System Planning IV(WASP-IV)tool to measure carbon dioxide emissions and changes in total *** model incorporates all generators and operational requirements while meeting environmental emissions,fuel availability and generator operational and maintenance constraints to optimize economic dispatch and unit commitment power *** the study three distinct scenarios are investigated base case,peak and off-peak charging to simulate the impacts of EV’s in the AIG up to 2025.

Battery packs are applied in various areas(e.g.,electric vehicles,energy storage,space,mining,etc.),which requires the state of health(SOH)to be accurately ***,also known as cell variation,is considered a significant evaluation index that greatly affects the degradation of battery *** paper proposes a novel joint inconsistency and SOH estimation method under cycling,which fills the gap of joint estimation based on the fast-charging process for electric ***,fifteen features are extracted from current change points during the partial charging ***,a joint estimation system is designed,where fusion weights are obtained by the analytic hierarchy process and multi-scale sample entropy to evaluate inconsistency.A wrapper is used to select the optimal feature subset,and Gaussian process regression is implemented to estimate the ***,the estimation performance is assessed by the test *** results show that the inconsistency evaluation can reflect the aging conditions,and the inconsistency does affect the aging *** wrapper selection method improves the accuracy of SOH estimation by about 75.8%compared to the traditional filter method when only 10%of data is used for model *** maximum absolute error and root mean square error are 2.58%and 0.93%,respectively.

AIm To present a comprehensive review of the etiology, clinical features, macroscopic and pathological findings, and clinical significance of Gut-associated lymphoid tissue or "dome" carcinoma of the *** The English language medical literature on gut-or gastrointestinal-associated lymphoid tissue(GALT) or "dome" carcinoma of the colon was searched and *** GALT/dome-type carcinomas of the colon are thought to arise from the m-cells of the lymphoglandular complex of the intestine. They are typically asymptomatic and have a characteristic endoscopic plaque-or "dome"-like appearance. Although the histology of GALT/dome-type carcinomas displays some variability, they are characterized by submucosal localization, a prominent lymphoid infiltrate with germinal center formation, tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes, absence of desmoplasia, and dilated glands lined by columnar epithelial cells with bland nuclear features and cytoplasmic eosinophilia. Electric vehicles (EVs) offer great potential to move from fossil fuel dependency in transport once some of the technical barriers related to battery reliability and grid integration are resolved. The European Union has set a target to achieve a 10% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions by 2020 relative to 2005 levels. This target is binding in all the European Union member states. If electric vehicle issues are overcome then the challenge is to use as much renewable energy as possible to achieve this target. In this paper, the impacts of electric vehicle charged in the all-Ireland single wholesale electricity market after the 2020 deadline passes is investigated using a power system dispatch model. For the purpose of this work it is assumed that a 10% electric vehicle target in the Republic of Ireland is not achieved, but instead 8% is reached by 2025 considering the slow market uptake of electric vehicles. Our experimental study shows that the increasing penetration of EVs could contribute to approach the target of the EU and Ireland government on emissions reduction, regardless of different charging scenarios. Furthermore, among various charging scenarios, the off-peak charging is the best approach, contributing 2.07% to the target of 10% reduction of Greenhouse gas emissions by 2025.

Seasonal exports of phosphorus from intensively fertilised nested grassland catchments

We carried out a one year （2002） study of phosphorus （P） loss from soil to water in three nested grassland catchments with known P input in chemical fertilizer and animal liquid slurry applications. Chemical fertilizer was applied to the grasslands between march and September and animal slurry was applied over the twelve months. The annual chemical P fertilizer applications for the 17 and 211 ha catchments were 16.4 and 23.7 kg P/ha respectively and the annual slurry applications were 10.7 and 14.0 kg P/ha, respectively. The annual total phosphorus （TP） export in stream-flow was 2.61, 2.48 and 1.61 kg P/ha for the 17, 211 and 1524 ha catchments, respectively, compared with a maximum permissible （by regulation） annual export of ca. 0.35 kg P/ha. The export rate （ratio of P export to P in land applications） was 9.6% and 6.6% from the 17 and 211 ha catchments, respectively. On average, 70% of stream flow and 85% of the P export occurred during the five wet months （October to February） indicating that when precipitation is much greater than evaporation, the hydrological conditions are most favourable for P export. However the soil quality and land use history may vary the results. Particulate P made up 22%, 43% and 37% of the TP export at the 17, 211 and 1524 ha catchment areas, respectively. As the chemical fertilizer was spread during the grass growth months （march to September）, it has less immediate impact on stream water quality than the slurry applications. We also show that as the catchment scale increases, the P concentrations and P export decrease, confirming dilution due to increasing rural catchment size. In the longer term, the excess P from fertilizer maintains high soil P levels, an antecedent condition favourable to P loss from soil to water. This study confirms the significant negative water quality impact of excess P applications, particularly liquid animal slurry applications in wet winter months.
