AIM： TO define the potential role of programmed death-i/programmed death-ligand （PD-1/PD-L） pathway in different hepatitis B virus （HBV） infection disease status; we examined the expression of PD-1 on antigen specific CD8＋T cells in peripheral blood of patients with chronic hepatitis B （CriB） and acute exacerbation of hepatitis B （AEHB） infection. METHODS： The PD-1 level on CD8＋ T lymphocytes and the number of HBV specific CD8＋ T lymphocytes in patients and healthy controls （HCs） were analyzed by staining with pentameric peptide-human leukocyte antigen2 （HLA2） complexes combined with flow cytometry. Real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction （PCR） was used to measure the serum HBV- DNA levels. RESULTS： The level of PD-1 expression on total CD8＋ T cells in CHB patients （13.86% ± 3.38%） was significantly higher than that in AEHB patients （6.80%± 2.19%, P 〈 0.01） and healthy individuals （4.63% ± 1.23%, P 〈 0.01）. Compared to AEHB patients （0.81% ± 0.73%）, lower frequency of HBV-specific CD8＋ T cells was detected in chronic hepatitis B patients （0.37% ± 0.43%, P 〈 0.05）. There was an inverse correlation between the strength of HBV-specific CD8＋ T-cell response and the level of PD-1 expression. Besides, there was a significant positive correlation between HBV viral load and the percentage of PD-1 expression on CD8＋ T cells in CriB and AEHB subjects （R = 0.541, P 〈 0.01）. However, PD-1 expression was not associated with disease flare-ups as indicated by alanine aminotransferase （ALT） levels （R = 0.066, P 〉 0.05）. CONCLUSION： Our results confirm previous reports that HBV specific CD8＋T-cell response in the peripheral blood is more intense in patients with AEHB than in chronic hepatitis B wlth persistent viral infection. Moreover, there is a negative correlation between the level of PD-1 and the intensity of virus specific CD8＋ T cell response.

The ball milling process and the CuWO-WOprecursors were investigated, and a new highly concentrated wet ball-milled process(HWM) was designed. W-20 wt% Cu composite powders with excellent sintering property were synthesized by highly concentrated wet ballmilled process and co-reduction. The powders were characterized by scanning electron microscopy(SEM), X-ray diffraction(XRD), field electron transmission electron microscopy(FESEM) and laser-diffraction diameter *** results indicate that particle size of W03-CuO powder mixtures decreases to 390 nm rapidly with the milling time increasing to 5 h. The CuWOprecursors promote the microstructural homogeneity of W and Cu. W-Cu composite powders have a highly dispersed and well sintering property. The particle size of W-Cu powders milled by HWM for 5 h is about 680 nm. High-resolution transmission electron microscopy(HRTEM) result suggests that W phase and Cu phase are mixed at nanometer scale. The above W-Cu composite powders reach the relative density of about 99.3%.

AIM： To investigate the hoLspoLs, direction, and the time course of evolution of hepatitis A virus in the process of consecutive cell culture passage in human KMB17 diploid cells.METHODS： Wild type hepatitis A virus H2w was serially propagated in KMB17 cells until passage 30, and the fulllength genomes of H2w and its six chosen progenies were determined by directly sequencing RT-PCR products amplified from viral genomic RNA. Alignment comparison of sequences from H2w with its six progenies and phylogenetic analysis of the whole VP1 region from H2w, progenies of H2w, and other cell culture adapted hepatitis A virus were then carried out to obtain data on the molecular evolution of hepatitis A virus in the process of consecutive passage in KMB17 cells.RESULTS： Most of the mutations occurred by passage 5 and several hotspots related to adaptation of the virus during cell growth were observed. After that stage, few additional mutations occurred through the remaining duration of passage in KMB17 cells except for mutation in the virulence determinants, which occurred in the vicinity of passage 15. The phylogenetic analysis of the whole VP1 region suggested that the progenies of H2w evolved closely to other cell culture adapted hepatitis A virus, i.e. MBB, L-A-l, other than its progenitor H2w.CONCLUSION： Hepatitis A virus served as a useful model for studying molecular evolution of viruses in a given environment. The information obtained in this study may provide assistance in cultivating the next generation of a seed virus for live hepatitis A vaccine production.

The upper montane evergreen broad-leaved forest in Yunnan occurs mainly in the zone of persistent cloud and has a discontinuous,island-like,*** is diverse,rich in endemic species,and likely to be sensitive to climate *** 1-ha sampling plots were established across the main distribution area of the upper montane evergreen broad-leaved forest in *** trees with d.b.h.>1 cm in each plot were *** of seed plant distributions were quantified at the specific,generic and family *** forests are dominated by the families Fagaceae,Lauraceae,Theaceae and Magnoliaceae,but are very diverse with only a few species shared between *** similarities at the family and generic level were high,but they were low at the specific level,with species complementarity between *** varied greatly among sites,with greater species richness and more rare species in western Yunnan than central *** flora is dominated by tropical biogeographical elements,mainly the pantropic and the tropical Asian distributions at the family and genus *** contrast,at the species level,the flora is dominated by the southwest or the southeast China distributions,including Yunnan *** suggests that the flora of the upper montane forest in Yunnan could have a tropical floristic origin,and has adapted to cooler temperatures with the uplift of the *** to great sensitivity to climate,high endemism and species complementarity,as well as the discontinuous,island-like,distribution patterns of the upper montane forest in Yunnan,the regional conservation of the forest is especially needed.

The Newtonian gravitational constant (G) is one of the fundamental physical constants. This paper in-troduces a method to determine the Newtonian gravitational constant based on the principle of free fall, through measuring the change of gravity from the disturbed mass with an FG5/112 absolute gravimeter. This method has good repeatability. The measurement precision can be improved by error control and a large number of experiments. The constant G is obtained by two experiments, and the measured value is (6.6665±0.0554)×10-11 m3/(kg·s2).

Pediatric orbital trapdoor fractures are common in children and adolescents and usually require emergency surgical ***,a personalized 3D printing-assisted approach to surgical treatment is proposed,serving to accurately and effectively repair pediatric orbital trapdoor *** first investigated stress distribution in external force-induced orbital blowout fractures via numerical simulation,determining that maximum stresses on inferior and medial walls exceed those on superior and lateral walls and thus confer higher probability of *** also examined 36 pediatric patients treated for orbital trapdoor fractures between 2014 and 2019 to verify our theoretical *** 3D printing technique,we then created orbital models based on computed tomography(CT)studies of these *** implants were tailor-made,replicating those of 3D-printed models during surgical repairs of fractured orbital *** follow-up,we compared CT images and clinical parameters(extraocular movements,diplopia,enophthalmos)before and 12 months after operative *** were only two patients with diplopia and six with enophthalmos>2 mm at 12 months,attesting to the efficacy of our novel 3D printing-assisted strategy.
