采用样地法对新疆托木尔峰国家级自然保护区岩面生地衣群落的种类组成进行调查和统计,并以各种类的盖度为指标、应用双向指示种分析(TWINSPAN)和除趋势对应分析(dCA)对岩面生地衣群落进行数量分类;采用Srensen相似性系数分析各群丛的物种相似性;此外,应用典范对应分析(CCA)探讨了岩面生地衣种类分布与环境因子间的关系。结果表明:该保护区岩面生地衣群落共包含58种地衣,隶属于6目18科35属;优势科有5个,包含的属、种数量分别占该保护区岩面生地衣属、种总数的42.86%和62.07%。依据TWINSPAN和dCA分析结果并结合生境特征,可将该保护区岩面生地衣群落划分为5个群丛:群丛A,包氏微孢衣+双缘衣群丛(*** bohlinii+diploschistes scruposus);群丛B,油黄茶渍+亚白平茶渍+柔扁枝衣群丛(*** oleifera+Aspicilia subalbicans+Evernia divaricata);群丛C,斑纹网衣+旱梅衣+淡肤根石耳群丛(*** tessellata+Parmelia vegans+Umbilicaria verginis);群丛d,丽石黄衣+白泡鳞衣群丛(*** elegans+Toninia candida);群丛E,皮果衣+硬袋衣群丛(*** miniatum+Hypogymnia austerodes)。相似性分析结果表明:群丛A与群丛B、群丛C与群丛d间的物种相似性较高,相似性系数分别为0.615和0.733;群丛B与群丛C间的物种相似性次之,相似性系数为0.363;其他群丛间的物种相似性均较低。CCA分析结果显示:该保护区岩面生地衣群落的物种分布受到海拔、光照强度、岩面p H值和相对湿度的影响。

Objective:To assess the effects of a widely used antibiotic,oxytetracycline(OTC)on the bacterial microflora in two catfish species under artificial culture conditions in the ***:The experiment was conducted in the Faculty of Fisheries,Bangladesh Agricultural University,*** fish were reared in six aquaria(size 37 cm×30 cm×60 cm)where three aquaria served as replicates of the antibiotic treatment groups and the remaining three aquaria served as an untreated control *** aquarium was stocked with 25 fish on an average body weight 15 *** was administered to the fish in the treatment groups at the rate of 2 g/kg in-feed twice daily upto ad libitum,whereas fish in the untreated control groups were given the same feed without antibiotics for 20 *** the experiment,bacterial loads were estimated as colony forming unit(CFU/g)by every alternate day in the aquarium water,gills,skin and intestine of ***:The administration of OTC in feed resulted in gradual decrease of bacterial loads in the gills,intestine and skin of the two catfish species *** contrast,the bacterial loads remain unchanged or slightly increased in the control groups not fed with *** quality parameters such as dissolved oxygen,pH and total hardness were found to be within suitable range in the test aquaria but not in control aquarium throughout the experimental ***:The results of this experiment showed that in-feed antibiotic OTC for a period of 20d reduced the bacterial loads in the gills,intestines and skin of treated fish.

PCR Based detection and Phylogenetic Analysis of Fowl Adenovirus Strains Isolated from 2019 Epidemic from Punjab and Sindh, Pakistan

Hydro-Pericardium Hepatitis (HPH) is an emerging infectious disease of commercial poultry, caused by different serotypes of Fowl Adeno Virus. The vertical transmission of the virus into the progeny may results in devastating damage, causing huge economic losses to its farmers. In present study, molecular typing is performed on basis of partially conserved hexon gene sequences, using a unique set of primers having common reverse oligo for simultaneous detection of FAdV1, FAdV-4 and FAdV-11. A total of 14 fowl adeno virus strains were isolated from 100 suspected adeno virus liver samples, collected from different districts in Pakistan, between 2018 and 2019. FASTA’s sequence alignment and phylogenetic analysis revealed that out of the 14, one isolate which belonged to group A showed 27% similarity with FAdV-1, while three isolates showed 99%, 95% & 45% similarity to FAdV-4 (Group C). Whereas, ten isolates showed more than 99% similarity to FAdV-11 (Group d). The serotypes FAdV1, FAdV-4 and FAdV-11 are prevailing in the breeder and broilers. These results hold great importance in rapid, reliable and simultaneous detection of the three FAdV serotypes. Therefore, fowl adeno virus vaccine production for commercial poultry shall be according to the prevalent field serotypes.

Preoperative evaluation of P53 and bcl-2 over expression in clinical stage 1 endometrial carcinoma and their correlation with surgico-pathological data and prognosis of patients

Introduction: P53 and bcl-2 over expression was reported to affect the biology and prognosis of patients endometrial carcinoma. Methods: This prospective study included 38 patients with histologically confirmed endometrial carcinoma and staged clinically as stage I. Immunohistochemical staining of the tumor specimens obtained by dilatation and curettage (d&C) with P53 and bcl-2 monoclonal antibodies was done. The surgical, pathological and follow up data of all patients were studied. Results: There were 18 cases (47.4%) with positive P53 over expression. P53 over expression was found to be associated with increasing grade of differentiation, advanced stage, and non endometrioid type (significant), and increased depth of myometrial invasion (non-significant). It was associated with more recurrence rate (22% versus 15%) and shorter mean survival time (33.9 versus 29.2 months). Bcl-2 expression was present in24 cases (63.2%) of the studied group. There was significant decrease in bcl-2expression with poorly differentiated, advanced stage, increased depth of myometrial invasion, and non-endometrioid type. It was not significantly correlated with recurrence rate and mean survival time. Conclusion: P53 over expression in the d&C specimens was associated with adverse surgicopathological criteria, increased mortality rate, and shorter survival time in patients with endometrial carcinoma. A significant decrease in bcl-2 expression was associated with adverse surgicopathological criteria, but it was not significantly correlated with prognosis of the patients.

Phytochemical screening, antibacterial and anthelmintic activities of leaf and seed extracts of Coix lacryma-jobi L.

Objective: To evaluate the possible phytochemical constituents, antibacterial and anthelmintic activity of Coix lacryma-jobi L. (Job's tears) using the chloroform leaves and seed extracts. Methods: The test for antibacterial activity and minimum inhibitory concentration was conducted by the disc diffusion and two-fold dilution method, respectively. In anthelmintic activity test, using Pheretima posthuma model, vermifuge and vermicidal activity were determined by using the chloroform extract at various concentrations. Results: The preliminary phytochemical screening of chloroform extracts of Job's tears leaves indicated the presence of alkaloid, carbohydrate, saponin, glycosides, flavonoids, phenols, tannins and steroids whereas the seeds extract contained glycosides, flavonoids, phenols and steroids, which revealed highest antimicrobial activity against Bacillus cereus and Klebsiella pneumoniae. The lowest minimum inhibitory concentration (12.5–50 mg/mL) was observed against all selected bacteria. On the other hand, it has been observed that chloroform leaves extracts showed shortest time of paralysis (P = 8.17 min) and death (d = 18.23 min) at 100 mg/mL concentration, in comparison with seed extracts (P = 36.83 min and d = 62.33 min) at 100 mg/mL concentration and albendazole (10 mg/mL) used as reference drug (P = 20.17 min and d = 43.67 min), which indicated the plant possessed mild anthelmintic activity. Conclusions: The chloroform extracts (leaves and seeds) showed efficacy for both bacterial infections and parasitic diseases, which ensure the traditional uses of Coix lacryma-jobi L.

Background: A relationship among vitamin d and pulmonary tuberculosis. Objective: To conclude the occurrence of Vitamin d insufficiency in subjects suffering from pulmonary TB. design: This was a cross sectional study. Setting: Current study was performed at department of medicine, Peoples Medical College Hospital Nawabshah starting from January 2017 to december 2017. Samples: 385 AFB positive subjects of pulmonary tuberculosis after achieving the criteria of selection were recruited. Material and Methods: After a brief discussion, the patients were characterized for variable evaluation such as age, gender, sputum AFB and duration of disease and presence of low vitamin d levels. Sputum AFB criterion was used for data collection. Fasting blood samples were collected for analysis of vitamin d levels in all subjects of AFB positive pulmonary tuberculosis. Results: In 385 diagnosed patients with smear positive PTB, 273 (70.9%) males and 112 (29.1%) were female. Vitamin d levels were within normal or sufficient range in 134 (34.8%), below normal range in 251 (65.2%) cases (insufficient in 09.56% (24/251) and deficient in 90.43% (227/251) cases). Conclusion: decreased levels of vitamin d were common in subjects with AFB smear Positive PTB cases.

Helicity-multiplexed metasurfaces based on symmetric spin–orbit interactions (SOIs) have practical limits because they cannot provide central-symmetric holographic imaging. Asymmetric SOIs can effectively address such limitations, with several exciting applications in various fields ranging from asymmetric data inscription in communications to dual side displays in smart mobile devices. Low-loss dielectric materials provide an excellent platform for realizing such exotic phenomena efficiently. In this paper, we demonstrate an asymmetric SOI-dependent transmission-type metasurface in the visible domain using hydrogenated amorphous silicon (a-Si:H) nanoresonators. The proposed design approach is equipped with an additional degree of freedom in designing bi-directional helicity-multiplexed metasurfaces by breaking the conventional limit imposed by the symmetric SOI in half employment of metasurfaces for one circular handedness. Two on-axis, distinct wavefronts are produced with high transmission efficiencies, demonstrating the concept of asymmetric wavefront generation in two antiparallel directions. Additionally, the CMOS compatibility of a-Si:H makes it a cost-effective alternative to gallium nitride (GaN) and titanium dioxide (TiO2) for visible light. The cost-effective fabrication and simplicity of the proposed design technique provide an excellent candidate for high-efficiency, multifunctional, and chip-integrated demonstration of various phenomena.

Global and segmental myocardial deformation by 2d speckle tracking compared to visual assessment

AIM:To examine the feasibility and reliability of measuring global and segmental longitudinal strain(LS) compared to visual assessment of wall motion(WM).METHOdS:Assessment of segmental(17 left ventricular segments) LS using automatic function imaging(AFI) in 55 patients(60.0 ± 8.7 years,73% male) divided into 2 groups:groupⅠ included 35 patients with WM abnormalities and/or impaired ejection fraction and group Ⅱ included 20 patients with normal WM and ejection *** analysis of WM abnormalities was performed using 2-dimensional echocardiography(2dE) and WM score was *** modalities were analyzed by one expert reader at 2 different ***:Analysis of 935 left ventricular segments was completed in 94.1% and 96.3% by visual assessment and AFI,*** was a strong positive linear relationship between the WM score and global LS in all ***-observer agreement for calculation of WM score was excellent for groupⅠ patients(kappa:0.97) and very good for group Ⅱ patients(kappa:0.92).Intra-observer agreement for AFI showed excellent agreement with very small mean difference in both groupⅠ and Ⅱ(-0.0 ± 2.3 and-0.0 ± 1.9,respectively).CONCLUSION:The interpretation of global and segmental LS using AFI is a more feasible and reliable technique for the quantification of myocardial deformation than visual assessment of WM scores.
