Traumatic brain injury, chronic traumatic encephalopathy, and Alzheimer's disease are three distinct neurological disorders that share common pathophysiological mechanisms involving neuroinflammation. One sequela of neuroinflammation includes the pathologic hyperphosphorylation of tau protein, an endogenous microtubule-associated protein that protects the integrity of neuronal cytoskeletons. Tau hyperphosphorylation results in protein misfolding and subsequent accumulation of tau tangles forming neurotoxic aggregates. These misfolded proteins are characteristic of traumatic brain injury, chronic traumatic encephalopathy, and Alzheimer's disease and can lead to downstream neuroinflammatory processes, including assembly and activation of the inflammasome complex. Inflammasomes refer to a family of multimeric protein units that, upon activation, release a cascade of signaling molecules resulting in caspase-induced cell death and inflammation mediated by the release of interleukin-1β cytokine. One specific inflammasome, the NOD-like receptor protein 3, has been proposed to be a key regulator of tau phosphorylation where it has been shown that prolonged NOD-like receptor protein 3 activation acts as a causal factor in pathological tau accumulation and spreading. This review begins by describing the epidemiology and pathophysiology of traumatic brain injury, chronic traumatic encephalopathy, and Alzheimer's disease. Next, we highlight neuroinflammation as an overriding theme and discuss the role of the NOD-like receptor protein 3 inflammasome in the formation of tau deposits and how such tauopathic entities spread throughout the brain. We then propose a novel framework linking traumatic brain injury, chronic traumatic encephalopathy, and Alzheimer's disease as inflammasomedependent pathologies that exist along a temporal continuum. Finally, we discuss potential therapeutic targets that may intercept this pathway and ultimately minimize long-term neurological decline.

BAckGROUND Transfusion transmissible infections(TTIs)are illnesses spread through contaminated blood or blood *** India,screening for TTIs such as hepatitis B virus(HBV),hepatitis c virus(HcV),human immunodeficiency virus(HIV)-I/II,malaria,and syphilis is mandatory before blood ***,HcV,HBV,and HIV are the leading viruses causing mortality,affecting millions of people globally,including those with co-infections of HIV/HcV and HIV/*** highlight the impact of TTIs on life expectancy and health risks,such as liver cirrhosis,cancer,and other diseases in individuals with chronic ***,millions of blood donations take place annually,emphasizing the importance of maintaining blood *** To study the prevalence of TTIs,viz.,HBV,HcV,HIV I/II,syphilis,and malaria parasite(MP),among different blood donor *** The study assessed the prevalence of TTIs among different blood donor groups in Delhi,*** included total donors,in-house donors,total camp donors,institutional camp donors,and community camp *** for HIV,HBV,and HcV were done using enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay,while syphilis was tested with rapid plasma reagins and MP rapid card *** prevalence of HBV,HcV,HIV,and syphilis,expressed as *** in infection rates between the groups were analyzed usingχ²tests and P-values(less than 0.05).RESULTS The study evaluated TTIs among 42158 blood donors in *** overall cumulative frequency of TTIs in total blood donors was 2.071%,and the frequencies of HBV,HcV,HIV-I/II,venereal disease research laboratory,and MP were 1.048%,0.425%,0.221%,0.377%,and 0.0024%,***-house donors,representing 37656 donors,had the highest transfusion transmissible infection(TTI)prevalence at 2.167%.Among total camp donors(4502 donors),TTIs were identified in 1.266%of donors,while community camp donors(2439 donors)exhibited a prevalence of 1.558%.Institutional camp donors(2063 donors)had the l

The sustainability of prevailing maize-fallow system in rainfed ecosystems of the Eastern Himalayan region(EHR)of India is often questioned due to poor economic return and negative impact on soil ***,the six cropping systems,maize-fallow(M-F),maize t cowpea-rapeseed(M t c-Rs),maize t cowpea-buckwheat(M t c-Bw),maize t cowpea-barley(M t ceB),maize t cowpea-garden pea(M t c-GP)and maize t cowpeaerajmash(M t c-R)in the main plot and three soil moisture conservation measures,no-mulch(NM),maize stover mulch(MSM)and maize stover t weed biomass mulch(MSM t WBM)in sub-plot were evaluated for four consecutive years(2014-18)at a Research Farm in fixed plot *** indicated that cowpea co-culture with maize and inclusion of winter crop increased maize yield by 6.2e23.5%over *** the systems,the M t c-GP recorded the highest crop *** residual effect of MSM t WBM increased maize grain yield by 19.1%over *** of maize t cowpea-winter crops significantly improved the available N(3.2e12.9%),P(3.6 e12.7%),k(1.9e26.3%),organic carbon(9.2e16.8%),microbial biomass carbon-MBc(15.2e43.9%)and dehydrogenases-DHA(17.2e42.3%)in soil at 0e15 cm depth as compared to *** M t c-GP also recorded maximum net return(US$2460 ha1),benefit:cost(B:c)ratio(2.86)and energy use efficiency(7.9%).The MSM t WBM recorded higher net return(US$1680 ha1)and B:c ratio(2.46)over ***,cowpea t maize-garden pea(M t c-GP)along with the application of MSM t WBM is a sustainable production practice to intensify the organically managed maize-fallow system in rainfed regions of the EHR of India and other similar ecosystems.

In the metropolises,it is unlikely to use merely solar and wind energy to pursue zero carbon building ***,it would become possible if biofuel-driven trigeneration systems(BDTS)are *** is thus essential to assess the application opportunity of BDTS in a holistic *** this study,BDTS offered definite primary energy saving of up to 15%and carbon emissions reduction of at least 86%in different types of non-residential buildings as compared to the conventional *** 24/7 operation for the hotel and hospital buildings,the corresponding BDTS could even achieve zero carbon *** the BDTS primed with compression-ignition internal combustion engine were not economically viable even in running cost due to the high local biodiesel price *** BDTS primed with spark-ignition engine and fueled by biogas,however,would have economic merit when carbon price was considered for the conventional systems that fully utilize fossil *** of carbon tax and social cost could have the payback ceilings of 8 years and 2 years respectively for most of building ***,the results could reflect the application potential of BDTS for non-residential buildings,leading the pathway to carbon neutrality for sustainable sub-tropical cities.

This study is the first to report the radiocarbon ages, mineralogical, morphological, geochemical and stable isotope compositions of calcretes from Neogene sediments around lakes Eymir and Mogan in the G？lba？？ Basin of central Anatolia. Morphologically different forms of calcretes in the G？lba？？ Basin include powdery, nodular, fracture infill, laminar and hardpan types. calcite is the dominant mineral of calcrete compositions; the diagnostic features of dessication cracks, random fractures, Mn O linings and dense sparitic infillings are observed. chemical analyses show arid conditions with mean annual precipitation of 〈50 mm. δ13c compositions of the calcretes range from-6.77‰ to-9.32‰ PDB, typical for most pedogenic calcretes, reflecting the development under seasonally arid climates and c3-dominated vegetation cover. δ18O values are between-5.57‰ and-7.80‰ PDB, indicating the formation from meteoric water in a vadose zone environment. The results suggest that the Middle Pleistocene was arider and warmer, favouring the formation of palygorskite in association with the different forms of calcrete occurrences, whereas the Late Pleistocene was dryer and cooler, supporting the development of calcretes.

Nonlinear interactions of vortex rings with a free surface are considered in an incompressible, ideal fluid using the vortex contour dynamics technique and the boundary integral equation method. The flow is axisymmetric and the vorticity is linearly distributed in the vortex. Effects of the gravity and the surface tension as well as the initial geometric parameter of the vortex on the interaction process are investigated in considerable detail. The interaction process may be divided into three major stages: the vortex free-traveling stage, the collision stage, and the vortex stretching and rebounding stage. Time evolutions of both the vortex and free surface under various conditions are provided and analyzed. Two kinds of waves exist on the free surface during interaction. In a special case where the gravity and surface tension are very weak or the vortex is very strong, an electric-bulb-like 'cavity' is formed an the free surface and the vortex is trapped in the 'cavity' for quite a. long time, resulting in a large amount, of fluid above the mean fluid surface.

In this paper, we study a method for isolated handwritten or hand-printed character recognition using dynamic programming for matching the non-linear multi- projection profiles that are produced from the Radon transform. The idea is to use dynamic time warping （DTW） algorithm to match corresponding pairs of the Radon features for all possible projections. By using DTW, we can avoid compressing feature matrix into a single vector which may miss information. It can handle character images in different shapes and sizes that are usually happened in natural hand- writing in addition to difficulties such as multi-class similarities, deformations and possible defects. Besides, a comprehensive study is made by taking a major set of state-of- the-art shape descriptors over several character and numeral datasets from different scripts such as Roman, Devanagari, Oriya, Bangla and Japanese-katakana including symbol. For all scripts, the method shows a generic behaviour by providing optimal recognition rates but, with high computational cost.
