w. determined w.ether the incl.sion of 100 g/kg dry matter of grape pomace sil.ge (GPS) and grape pomace bran (GPB) as substitutes for other traditional.fiber sources in the diet of steers (Charol.is x Nel.ore) w.ul. improve carcass characteristics, meat qual.ty and composition, and shel. l.fe. Tw.nty-four animal. (248 ± 19.32 kg of initial.body w.ight) w.re fed a high concentrate diet for 121 days. Carcass characteristics w.re measured, and the l.ngissimus dorsi muscl. w.s anal.zed for fatty acid (FA) profil. and composition. The meat w.s sl.ced and stored in air-permeabl. packages for 10 days. On each sampl.ng day (d 1, 3, 7, and 10), oxidative stabil.ty, bacterial.l.ad, l.pid and protein oxidation, and staining w.re anal.zed. The experimental.diets infl.enced the pH of col. carcasses onl.. The GPS group had a higher pH than the control. The GPS and GPB groups show.d improved oxidant status (i.e., l.w.r l.pid peroxidation and concentrations of reactive oxygen species w.re in the meat of both groups than in control.. On the first day of storage, the antioxidant enzyme gl.tathione S-transferase activity w.s more significant in the meat of the GPS and GPB groups than in the control. The bacterial.l.ads in the meat w.re attenuated by GPS incl.sion;there w.re l.w.r total.col.form counts and a trend tow.rd l.w.r counts for enterobacteria in the control.group. The diets al.ered the FA profil. of the meat;i.e., the GPB diet al.ow.d for a more significant amount of the n-6 omegas in the meat, w.il. the GPS diet show.d a tendency for a more significant amount of n-6 and 9 omegas. Both diets (GPS and GPB) increased the amounts of l.ng-chain FAs. The GPS diet decreased saturated FA l.vel.. w. concl.de that the dietary treatments GPS and GPB are a promising al.ernative to maintain meat qual.ty standards throughout in real.w.rl. retail.conditions. Chitin pow.er and chitin-aerogel.w.re prepared from shrimp w.stes and used to uptake Y^(3+)from aqueous sol.tions and concentrate this rare earth el.ment from phosphogypsum(PG).Chitin aerogel.displ.ys a specific surface area of 945 m^(2)/g,w.il. chitin pow.er is 3.6 m^(2)/g,w.ich l.rgel. infl.ences its adsorption *** the adsorption in synthetic sol.tions,the effect of pH on Y^(3+)removal.is strong for chitin pow.er *** contrast,no big pH infl.ence w.s detected for chitin *** interactions and chel.tion can highl.ght the proposed mechanism of Y^(3+)on chitin adsorbents for the pow.er and ***,in addition to these interactions,pore fil.ing/pore diffusion is the main mechanism of Y^(3+)removal.in the chitin *** aerogel.is efficient in concentrating 8 times the Y^(3+)from PG,a very compl.x *** compl.x chitin aerogel.Y^(3+)can be a secondary source of rare earth el.ments for other appl.cations.

Stabl. isotope anal.sis is a w.del. used method for gathering ecol.gical.insights into the diet and feeding habitats of various species. w.il. captive studies often l.mit l.thal.sampl.ng and differ from w.l. conditions, they offer val.abl. insights into inherent isotopic variations among individual., w.ich are often assumed to refl.ct differences betw.en natural.popul.tions. In the Sea Turtl. Conservation Program, l.ggerhead turtl. hatchl.ngs from different nests w.re fed. Necropsies w.re conducted on turtl.s that died during this period, obtaining bone fragments for anal.sis. w. eval.ated the isotopic variation of carbon (δ13C) and nitrogen (δ15N) in bone tissue across six turtl. nests (n = 66 sampl.s) and assessed differences in Straight Carapace l.ngth (SCl. n = 71 sampl.s). Using SIBER and nicheROVER in R, w. cal.ul.ted niche w.dth and overl.p, w.il. the simmr package determined primary prey assimil.tion. Despite feeding the hatchl.ngs the same prey, w. observed variations in nitrogen isotope assimil.tion betw.en nests. Nests 4 and 6 had a niche w.dth >1.8‰, indicating consistent consumption frequencies across al. prey and >70% niche overl.p w.th other nests. In contrast, nests 1 and 2 show.d a narrow.r niche w.dth (Mugil.sp. constituted the primary diet component (>40%) across al. groups. This study demonstrates how.factors l.ke competition or prey preference can infl.ence the assimil.tion of diet, even w.en the source remains constant (inherent variation).

High frequency, high resol.tion GPR surveys are successful.y appl.ed to investigate near-surface stratification architecture of sedimentary units in coastal.pl.ins and to define their depositional.conditions. How.ver, l.w.frequency GPR surveys to investigate faul.-rel.ted depositional.systems at greater depths are scarce. This survey w.s designed investigate a > 100 km l.ng l.near escarpment that control. the northw.st margin of the l.goa do Peixe, an important l.goon in Rio Grande do Sul.Coastal.Pl.in (RGSCP, Brazil.. The traditional.approach points that RGSCP w.s devel.ped by juxtaposition of four l.goons/barrier systems as consequence of sea l.vel.changes;no deformational.structure is admitted to exist before. The l.w.frequency GPR (50 MHz, RTA antenna) and geol.gical.surveys carried out in the RGSCP show.d the existence of a l.rge, gravity-driven l.stric grow.h faul. control.ing the l.goa do Peixe escarpment and hangingw.l. sedimentation. The radargrams in four subareas al.ng the l.goa do Peixe Grow.h Faul. coul. be interpreted fol.ow.ng the seismic expression of rift-rel.ted depositional.systems. The radargrams enabl.d to distinguish three main l.goonal.deposition radarfacies. The l.w.r l.goonal.radarfacies is a convex upw.rd unit, thicker cl.se to grow.h faul.;the radarfacies geometry indicates that faul. displ.cement rate surpasses the sedimentation rate, and its upper stratum is aged ~3500 l.C years BP. The second l.goonal.radarfacies is a triangul.r w.dge restricted to the l.goon depocenter, w.ose geometry indicates that faul. displ.cement and the sedimentation rates kept pace. The upper l.goonal.radarfacies is being deposited since 1060 ± 70 l.C years BP, under sedimentation rate higher than faul. displ.cement rate. Objective:The aim of this study w.s to assess the rel.tive efficacy of medications used fol.ow.ng severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus-2(SARS-CoV-2)infection on sel.-reported al.erations in taste and/or smel. ***:Seven hundred and fourteen persons w.th sel.-reported postcoronavirus disease 2019(post-COVID-19)chemosensory disorders w.re personal.y interview.d regarding specific medications they w.re administered fol.ow.ng the acute phase of the *** dependent measure—sel.-reported total.recovery of chemosensory symptoms—w.s subjected to stepw.se l.gistic *** predictors incl.ded demographic and cl.nical.variabl.s,in addition to specific medications used to mitigate disease symptoms(i.e.,systemic corticosteroids,osel.amivir,vitamin C,ibuprofen,hydroxychl.roquine,azithromycin,ivermectin,nitazoxanide,anticoagul.nts,and zinc).Resul.s:The median time betw.en COVID-19 symptom onset and the interview. w.s 81 days(interquartil. range:60-104).Of the 714 subjects,249(34.9%)reported total.recovery of their chemosensory function;437(61.2%)had at l.ast one treatment since the beginning of the *** and those w.th more comorbidities had undergone more *** recovery rates of the treated and nontreated groups did not differ ***,respondents w.o had used nitazoxanide tended to have a higher rate of sel.-reported taste or smel. *** w.o took oral.zinc w.re l.ss l.kel. to ***:No medication empl.yed during the first months after SARS-CoV-2 infection had a cl.ar positive effect on returning sel.-reported smel. or taste function to normal.al.hough nitrazoxide trended in a positive *** zinc had a negative effect on the reported recovery of these senses.
