BACKGROUND Endoscopic resection of non-invasive lesions is now the standard of care for lesions in the GI ***,resection techniques require extensive training,are not available in all endoscopy centers and are prone to *** mucosal ablation(EMA)is a combination of resection and ablation techniques and it may offer an alternative in the management of such *** SUMMARY In this case series we report the successful treatment of three flat colonic polyps using the EMA *** lesions were treatment naïve and 1 was a recurrence after an endoscopic mucosal *** sizes ranged from 2 to 4 *** three polyps were ablated successfully with no immediate or delayed *** recurrence rate at 1 year of follow up was 0%.CONCLUSION Based on this initial experience,we conclude that EMA is a safe and effective technique for the treatment of non-invasive colonic polyps when endoscopic resection techniques are not available.

BACKGROUND A recent expert panel issued recommendations about the technical aspects of direct endoscopic necrosectomy(DEN) for pancreatic walled-off necrosis(WON).However, significant technical heterogeneity still exists among *** To report the outcomes of our DEN technique and how it differs from a recent expert consensus statement and previous *** Medical records of patients with WON who underwent DEN from September2016-May 2019 were queried for the following information: Age, gender,ethnicity, etiology of acute pancreatitis, WON location and size, DEN technical information, adverse events(AEs) and outcomes. Adverse events were graded according to the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy Lexicon grading system. Technical success was defined as adequate lumen apposing metal stent(LAMS) deployment plus removal of ≥ 90% of necrosum. Clinical success was defined as complete resolution of WON cavity by imaging and resolution of symptoms at ≤ 3 months(mo) after last DEN. Data analysis was performed using mean and standard deviation for continuous variables,frequency and proportion for categorical variables, and median and range for interval *** A total of 21 patients underwent DEN. Most of them were Hispanic and their mean age was 51 ± 17 years. The majority of the collections were located in the body of the pancreas and the mean size was 13 cm ± 5 cm. The most common indication was persistent vomiting. Antibiotics were administered only in cases of infected necrosis. All LAMS were placed without radiological guidance,dilated the same day of deployment and removed after a mean of 27 ± 11 *** cross-sectional imaging immediately after drainage was not *** mean interval between DEN sessions was 7 ± 4 d and the mean number of DEN/patient was 3 ± 2. In turbulence modeling, the RNG and Realizable models have important improvements in the turbulent production and dissipation terms in comparison to the Standard. The selection of the appropriate turbulence model has an impact on the convergence and solution in STRs, and they are used in mixing, multiphase modeling or as starting solution of transient models as DES and LES. Although there are several studies with the pitched blade turbine(PBT) impeller, most of them used the Standard model as representative of all k–ε models, using structured hexahedral grids composed of low number of cells, and in some cases under axial symmetry ***, in this work the assessment of the Standard, RNG and Realizable models to describe the turbulent flow field of this impeller, using the Multiple Reference Frame(MRF) and Sliding Mesh(SM) approaches with tetrahedral domains in dense grids, is presented. This kind of cell elements is especially suitable to reproduce complex geometries. Flow velocities and turbulent parameters were verified experimentally by PIV and torque measurements. The three models were capable of predicting fairly the pumping number, the power number based on torque, and velocities. Although the RNG improved the predictions of the turbulent kinetic energy and dissipation rate, the Realizable model presented better performance for both approaches. All models failed in the prediction of the total dissipation rate, and a dependence of its value on the number of cells for the MRF was found.

A novel method of renormalization called Pacman renormalization allows us to study (unicritical) Siegel functions through Pacman-type functions. It has been used to investigate the Siegel parameters with combinatorially periodic rotation number in the main cardioid of the Mandelbrot set. It is already known that it can be defined a Pacman renormalization operator such that for Siegel pacmen, with combinatorially periodic rotation numbers, the operator is compact, analytic and has a unique fixed point, at which it is hyperbolic with one-dimensional unstable manifold. In this paper we observe that this Pacman renormalization operator is compact and analytic at any Siegel Pacman or Siegel map with combinatorially bounded rotation number. This allows us to define a renormalization operator on the hybrid classes of the standard Siegel pacmen to which we built its horseshoe where the operator is topologically semiconjugated to the left shift on the space of bi-infinite sequences of natural numbers bounded by some constant.

The development of a new generation of nonantibody protein drug delivery systems requires site-directed conjugation strategies to produce homogeneous,reproducible and scalable *** that,the genetic addition of cysteine residues into solvent-exposed positions allows the thiol-mediated cysteine coupling of therapeutic drugs into protein-based ***,the high reactivity of unpaired cysteine residues usually reduces protein stability,consequently imposing the use of more methodologically demanding purification *** is especially relevant for disulfide-containing nanocarriers,as previously observed in ***,although many protein scaffolds and targeting ligands are also rich in disulfide bridges,the use of these methodologies over emerging non-antibody carrier proteins has been completely ***,we report the development of a simple and straightforward procedure for a onestep production and site-directed cysteine conjugation of disulfide-containing non-antibody thiolated carrier proteins(THIOCAPs).This method is validated in a fluorescent C-X-C chemokine receptor 4(CXCR4)-targeted multivalent nanocarrier containing two intramolecular disulfide bridges and one reactive cysteine residue strategically placed into a solvent-exposed position(THIO-T22-GFP-H6)for drug conjugation and in a humanized alternative intended for clinical applications(T22-HSNBT-H6).Thus,we produce very stable,homogeneous and fully functional antitumoral nanoconjugates(THIO-T22-GFP-H6-MMAE and T22-HSNBT-H6-MMAE)that selectively eliminate target cancer cells via ***,the developed methodology appears as a powerful tool for the rational engineering of emerging non-antibody,cell-targeted protein nanocarriers that contain disulfide bridges together with a solvent-exposed reactive cysteine(THIOCAP).This should pave the way for the development of a new generation of stable,homogeneous and efficient nanomedicines.

The potential of polyphenols for treating chronic-degenerative diseases(particularly neurodegenerative diseases)is ***,the selection of the best polyphenol for each treatment,the mechanisms by which they act,and their efficacy are frequently *** this review,the basics and the advances in the field,as well as suggestions for using natural and synthetic polyphenols alone or in a combinatorial strategy with stem cell assays,are compiled and ***,stem cells exhibit several responses when polyphenols are added to their environment,which could provide us with knowledge for advancing the elucidation of the origin of *** also,polyphenols are being included in the innovative strategies of novel therapies for treating neurodegenerative diseases as well as metabolic diseases related to *** this regard,flavonoid compounds are suggested as the best natural polyphenols due to their several mechanisms for acting in ameliorative effects;but increasing reports are involving other *** if some facts limiting bioactivity prevent them from conventional use,some natural polyphenols and derivatives hold the promise for being improved compounds,judged by their induced *** current results suggest polyphenols as enhancers of stem cell therapy against the targeted diseases.

The metabolic activity of the fruits continues even after harvest,which results in the loss of bioactive compounds,a decrease in the quality of the fruits,softening and browning,among other negative *** use of certain elements such as silicon can improve postharvest quality,since it is involved in the metabolic,physiological and structural activity of plants,moreover can increase the quality of the *** addition,nanotechnology has had a positive impact on crop yield,nutritional value,fruit quality and can improve antioxidant *** these reasons,the use of beneficial elements such as silicon in the form of nanoparticles can be a viable option to improve the characteristics of the *** the present study was evaluated the application of potassium silicate(125,250 and 500 mg L^(−1))and SiO_(2) nanoparticles(125,250 and 500 mg L^(−1))during the development of the *** results showed that the application of silicon(potassium silicate and silicon nanoparticles)increased the content of total soluble solids(up to 15.6%higher than control),titratable acidity(up to 38.8%higher than control),vitamin C(up to 78.2%higher than control),phenols(up to 22%higher than control),flavonoids(up to 64.6%higher than control),and antioxidant activity in lipophilic compounds(up to 56.2%higher than control).This study suggests that the use of silicon can be a good option to increase the content of bioactive compounds in cucumber fruits when they are applied during the development of the crop.

Using fine electromagnetic signals to measure observables of other fields like curvature and torsion of a space, and the corresponding value of their integrals of the action of perception of curvature through electronic signals that detect curvature on a curved surface, it is designed and constructed a sensor of curvature of accelerometer type that detects and curvature measures in 2 and 3-dimensional spaces using the programming of shape operators on spheres and the value of their integrals along the curves and geodesics in their principal directions.
