BACKGROUND Endoscopic resection of non-invasive lesions is now the standard of care for lesions in the GI ***,resection techniques require extensive training,are not available in all endoscopy centers and are prone to *** mucosal ablation(EMA)is a combination of resection and ablation techniques and it may offer an alternative in the management of such *** SUMMARY In this case series we report the successful treatment of three flat colonic polyps using the EMA *** lesions were treatment naïve and 1 was a recurrence after an endoscopic mucosal *** sizes ranged from 2 to 4 *** three polyps were ablated successfully with no immediate or delayed *** recurrence rate at 1 year of follow up was 0%.CONCLUSION Based on this initial experience,we conclude that EMA is a safe and effective technique for the treatment of non-invasive colonic polyps when endoscopic resection techniques are not available.

BACKGROUND A recent expert panel issued recommendations about the technical aspects of direct endoscopic necrosectomy(DEN) for pancreatic walled-off necrosis(WON).However, significant technical heterogeneity still exists among *** To report the outcomes of our DEN technique and how it differs from a recent expert consensus statement and previous *** Medical records of patients with WON who underwent DEN from September2016-May 2019 were queried for the following information: Age, gender,ethnicity, etiology of acute pancreatitis, WON location and size, DEN technical information, adverse events(AEs) and outcomes. Adverse events were graded according to the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy Lexicon grading system. Technical success was defined as adequate lumen apposing metal stent(LAMS) deployment plus removal of ≥ 90% of necrosum. Clinical success was defined as complete resolution of WON cavity by imaging and resolution of symptoms at ≤ 3 months(mo) after last DEN. Data analysis was performed using mean and standard deviation for continuous variables,frequency and proportion for categorical variables, and median and range for interval *** A total of 21 patients underwent DEN. Most of them were Hispanic and their mean age was 51 ± 17 years. The majority of the collections were located in the body of the pancreas and the mean size was 13 cm ± 5 cm. The most common indication was persistent vomiting. Antibiotics were administered only in cases of infected necrosis. All LAMS were placed without radiological guidance,dilated the same day of deployment and removed after a mean of 27 ± 11 *** cross-sectional imaging immediately after drainage was not *** mean interval between DEN sessions was 7 ± 4 d and the mean number of DEN/patient was 3 ± 2. Anti-pandemic policies impacted the governance of Higher Education Institutions(HEIs)through confinement and distancing *** an impact was observed in the identity,reputation,and image of the HEI in the face of the health *** objective of this work was to establish an empirical contrast between the theoretical structure consulted regarding the evaluations of summaries published from 2019 to 2024 by judges.A documentary,cross-sectional,and retrospective study was carried out with a sample of sources indexed in international *** results demonstrate that image and age regulate the impact of identity and income on *** relation to the state of the art,it is recommended to extend the study to sociocultural,demographic,economic,and educational variables in order to anticipate the transition from university governance to corporate governance.

We present an unusual case of portal vein thrombosis with a splanchnic hemangioma secondary to acute biliary pancreatitis. We report a 45-year-old patient, who has systemic arterial hypertension in treatment, was admitted for abdominal pain in the epigastrium, with irradiation to the right hypochondrium, accompanied by nausea and vomiting of 10 occasions of bile content, physical examination with pain in the right hypochondrium, Murphy positive. We have laboratory studies with a lipase of 788, so a diagnosis of pancreatitis is made with an etiology to be determined. The laboratories suggestive of acute biliary pancreatitis (lipase 788.71);an imaging study was subsequently performed (ultrasonography) with the result of stone in the common bile duct. A laparoscopy was performed with relative improvement, so he was discharged and returned 20 days after surgery due to abdominal pain of the same intensity in the left hypochondrium. Ending his hospitalization with a splenectomy for splenic hemangioma with portal vein thrombosis.

A novel method of renormalization called Pacman renormalization allows us to study (unicritical) Siegel functions through Pacman-type functions. It has been used to investigate the Siegel parameters with combinatorially periodic rotation number in the main cardioid of the Mandelbrot set. It is already known that it can be defined a Pacman renormalization operator such that for Siegel pacmen, with combinatorially periodic rotation numbers, the operator is compact, analytic and has a unique fixed point, at which it is hyperbolic with one-dimensional unstable manifold. In this paper we observe that this Pacman renormalization operator is compact and analytic at any Siegel Pacman or Siegel map with combinatorially bounded rotation number. This allows us to define a renormalization operator on the hybrid classes of the standard Siegel pacmen to which we built its horseshoe where the operator is topologically semiconjugated to the left shift on the space of bi-infinite sequences of natural numbers bounded by some constant.

The development of a new generation of nonantibody protein drug delivery systems requires site-directed conjugation strategies to produce homogeneous,reproducible and scalable *** that,the genetic addition of cysteine residues into solvent-exposed positions allows the thiol-mediated cysteine coupling of therapeutic drugs into protein-based ***,the high reactivity of unpaired cysteine residues usually reduces protein stability,consequently imposing the use of more methodologically demanding purification *** is especially relevant for disulfide-containing nanocarriers,as previously observed in ***,although many protein scaffolds and targeting ligands are also rich in disulfide bridges,the use of these methodologies over emerging non-antibody carrier proteins has been completely ***,we report the development of a simple and straightforward procedure for a onestep production and site-directed cysteine conjugation of disulfide-containing non-antibody thiolated carrier proteins(THIOCAPs).This method is validated in a fluorescent C-X-C chemokine receptor 4(CXCR4)-targeted multivalent nanocarrier containing two intramolecular disulfide bridges and one reactive cysteine residue strategically placed into a solvent-exposed position(THIO-T22-GFP-H6)for drug conjugation and in a humanized alternative intended for clinical applications(T22-HSNBT-H6).Thus,we produce very stable,homogeneous and fully functional antitumoral nanoconjugates(THIO-T22-GFP-H6-MMAE and T22-HSNBT-H6-MMAE)that selectively eliminate target cancer cells via ***,the developed methodology appears as a powerful tool for the rational engineering of emerging non-antibody,cell-targeted protein nanocarriers that contain disulfide bridges together with a solvent-exposed reactive cysteine(THIOCAP).This should pave the way for the development of a new generation of stable,homogeneous and efficient nanomedicines.

The potential of polyphenols for treating chronic-degenerative diseases(particularly neurodegenerative diseases)is ***,the selection of the best polyphenol for each treatment,the mechanisms by which they act,and their efficacy are frequently *** this review,the basics and the advances in the field,as well as suggestions for using natural and synthetic polyphenols alone or in a combinatorial strategy with stem cell assays,are compiled and ***,stem cells exhibit several responses when polyphenols are added to their environment,which could provide us with knowledge for advancing the elucidation of the origin of *** also,polyphenols are being included in the innovative strategies of novel therapies for treating neurodegenerative diseases as well as metabolic diseases related to *** this regard,flavonoid compounds are suggested as the best natural polyphenols due to their several mechanisms for acting in ameliorative effects;but increasing reports are involving other *** if some facts limiting bioactivity prevent them from conventional use,some natural polyphenols and derivatives hold the promise for being improved compounds,judged by their induced *** current results suggest polyphenols as enhancers of stem cell therapy against the targeted diseases.

The metabolic activity of the fruits continues even after harvest,which results in the loss of bioactive compounds,a decrease in the quality of the fruits,softening and browning,among other negative *** use of certain elements such as silicon can improve postharvest quality,since it is involved in the metabolic,physiological and structural activity of plants,moreover can increase the quality of the *** addition,nanotechnology has had a positive impact on crop yield,nutritional value,fruit quality and can improve antioxidant *** these reasons,the use of beneficial elements such as silicon in the form of nanoparticles can be a viable option to improve the characteristics of the *** the present study was evaluated the application of potassium silicate(125,250 and 500 mg L^(−1))and SiO_(2) nanoparticles(125,250 and 500 mg L^(−1))during the development of the *** results showed that the application of silicon(potassium silicate and silicon nanoparticles)increased the content of total soluble solids(up to 15.6%higher than control),titratable acidity(up to 38.8%higher than control),vitamin C(up to 78.2%higher than control),phenols(up to 22%higher than control),flavonoids(up to 64.6%higher than control),and antioxidant activity in lipophilic compounds(up to 56.2%higher than control).This study suggests that the use of silicon can be a good option to increase the content of bioactive compounds in cucumber fruits when they are applied during the development of the crop.

Micronutrient nanoparticles(NPs)are currently an option for chemical fertilization and biostimulation in ***,there is little information on the phytotoxic or biostimulatory effects of NPs at low concentrations of some elements,such as *** this study,the effect of low concentrations of Zn oxide(ZnO)NPs on germination,growth variables,and nutritional attributes of lettuce(Lactuca sativa L.)was evaluated in comparison to Zn *** lettuce seeds were treated with ZnSO_(4)^(-)×7H_(2)O and ZnO NPs at Zn molar concentrations of 1×10^(−3),5×10^(−3),1×10^(−4),5×10^(−4),1×10^(−5),5×10^(−5),1×10^(−6),and 5×10^(−6).The seeds treated with ZnSO4−at 5×10^(−6)registered the highest radicle length,73%more than the control *** seeds treated with ZnSO4−at 5×10^(−3)registered the lowest values,with 50%less than the control *** NPs at 5×10^(−6)significantly increased content of chlorophyll A and B and total *** results indicate the possible existence of a mechanism related to the intrinsic nanoparticle properties,especially at low concentrations.
