Litter produc.ion and leaf nutrient c.nc.ntration and remobilization in response to c.imate seasonality in the c.ntral Amazon

Litterfall is the largest sourc. of nutrients to for-est soils of tropic.l ***,variability in lit-terfall produc.ion,nutrient remobilization,and c.anges in leaf nutrient c.nc.ntration with c.imate seasonality remain largely unknown for the c.ntral *** study meas-ured litterfall produc.ion,leaf nutrient remobilization,and leaf area index on a forest plateau in the c.ntral *** was measured at monthly intervals during 2014,while nitrogen,phosphorus,potassium,c.lc.um and mag-nesium c.nc.ntrations of leaf litter and c.nopy leaves were measured in the dry and rainy seasons,and remobilization rates *** area index was also rec.rded in the dry and rainy *** litterfall varied from 33.2(in the rainy season)to 87.6 g m^(-2) in the dry season,while leaf area index inc.eased slightly in the rainy *** seasonality had no effec. on c.nc.ntrations of nitrogen,c.lc.um,and magnesium,whereas phosphorous and potassium responded to rainfall seasonality *** phosphorous inc.eased,potassium dec.eased during the dry *** seasons,nitrogen,potassium,and phosphorous dec.eased in leaf litter;c.lc.um inc.eased in leaf litter,while magnesium remained unaffec.ed with leaf ***,the five nutrients had similar remobilization rates over the *** absenc. of c.imate seasonality on nutrient remobilization suggests that the c.rrent length of the dry season does not alter nutrient remobilization rates but this may c.ange as dry periods bec.me more prolonged in the future due to c.imate c.ange.

Tannin was extrac.ed from different subspec.es of Ac.c.a nilotic.,Ac.c.a nilotic. nilotic.(Ann),Ac.c.a nilotic. tomentosa(Ant)and Ac.c.a nilotic. adansonii(Ana).The aim was to eluc.date their struc.ure and evaluate their reac.ivity as bioadhesives in the wood *** extrac.s were prepared by hot water extrac.ion(90°c.tem-perature).Their gel time with paraformaldehyde was used atﬁrst to c.mpare their *** tannin c.ntents and the perc.ntage of total polyphenolic.materials in different solutions of the extrac.s spray dried powder were determined by the hide powder *** solutions(47%)were tested by both MALDI ToF,*** thermomec.anic.l analysis(TMA)was performed to evaluate their modulus of elastic.ty(MOE)at different *** gel times of all the three tannin extrac.s showed that their reac.ivity and it was c.m-parable to other known proc.anidin/prodelphinidin tannin extrac. ***,Ann and Ant showed highest per-c.nt of total polyphenolic.materials at 70%,64%,and 57%,*** 13c.MR spec.ra showed that the three subspec.es of c.ndensed tannins were mainly c.nstituted of proc.anidins(Pc.and prodelphinidins(PD)in slightly different ***(56.5%Pc.and 43.4%PD),Ant(57%Pc.and 43%PD)and Ana(58%Pc.and 42%PD).MALDI–TOF spec.ra showed the presenc. ofﬂavonoid monomers,and oligomers some of whic. linked to short c.rbohydrates monomers or *** revealed that the three types of tannins had high MOE at their initial pH(5).

Organic.inorganic.hybrid perovskites have gained great attention as promising photoc.talysts for hydrogen ***,due to their poor stability in water,the use of aqueous hydrohalic.ac.d solutions is spec.fic.lly required for an effic.ent hydrogen ***,three novel photoac.ive lead-free hybrid perovskites based on bismuth and triazolium c.tions(denoted as IEF-15,IEF-16,and IEF-17(IEF stands for IMDEA energy frameworks))were synthesized and fully c.arac.erized(struc.ural,c.mpositional,optic.l,etc.).Further,these solids were proposed as photoc.talysts for the c.allenging gas phase overall water splitting(OWS)***,IEF-16 thin films exhibited a remarkable photoc.talytic.ac.ivity in both H_(2) and O_(2) evolution,as a c.nsequenc. of its appropriate bandgap and energy-band alignment,ac.ieving hydrogen evolution rates ofμmol·g_(H_(2))^(-)1846 and 360 after 24 h under ultraviolet-visible(UV-vis)irradiation or simulated solar irradiation,*** study additionally highlights the remarkable struc.ural and photoc.emic.l stability of IEF-16 under different operational c.nditions(*** volume,irradiation and temperature),paving the way for green hydrogen produc.ion from OWS using perovskite-based photoc.talysts.

Prevalenc. and ec.logic.l fac.ors affec.ing the distribution of plant-parasitic.nematodes in Prunus groves in Spain

A wide survey was c.nduc.ed to study plant-parasitic.nematodes(PPNs)assoc.ated with Prunus groves in *** researc. aimed to determine the prevalenc. and distribution of PPNs in Prunus groves,as well as the influenc. of explanatory variables desc.ibing soil,c.imate and agric.ltural management in struc.uring the variation of PPNs c.mmunity c.mposition.A total of 218 sampling sites were surveyed and 84 PPN spec.es belonging to 32 genera were identified based of an integrative taxonomic.*** spec.es c.nsidered as potential limiting fac.ors in Prunus produc.ion,suc. as Meloidogyne arenaria,***,***,Pratylenc.us penetrans and ***,were identified in this *** soil physic.-c.emic.l(c.Mg,N,Na,OM,P,pH and c.ay,loamy sand and sandy loam texture c.asses),four c.imate(Bio04,Bio05,Bio13 and Bio14)and four agric.ltural management variables(grove-use history less than 10 years,irrigation,apric.t seedling rootstoc.,and Montc.ar rootstoc.)were identified as the most influential variables driving spatial patterns of PPNs *** partic.lar,younger plantations showed higher values for spec.es ric.ness and diversity indic.s than groves c.ltivated for more than 20 years with Prunus *** study inc.eases the knowledge of the distribution and prevalenc. of PPNs assoc.ated with Prunus rhizosphere,as well as on the influenc. of explanatory variables driving the spatial struc.ure PPNs c.mmunities,whic. has important implic.tions for the suc.essful design of sustainable management strategies in the future in this agric.ltural system.
