We studied 20 women with mean age 57.7 years, being 9 with unilateral quadrantectomy surgery, 1 with surgery type bilateral quadrantectomy and 10 with unilateral mastectomy surgery. The average operative time was 9.8 (nine years and eight months). We studied using surface electromyography the mean deltoid, upper trape-zius and latissimus dorsi muscles in order to check the action potentials of these muscles when performing a sequence of movements of these joints. It was used for the study, an Acquisition Data System ADS1000 containing 12 channels. The electromyography (EMG) results expressed in RMS (Root Mean Square) were analyzed and compared between the surgical and nonsurgical side, among the three repetitions of the sequence of movements and between mastectomy and quadrantectomy for each muscle. For statistical analysis we used analysis of variance (ANOVA) with a double repetition factor

The purpose of this work is to identify in the anthropometrical indicators used here in this study the percentage of body fat, the body mass index (BMI) and the waist-hip ratio (WHR), which present a correlation with the metabolic variables of heart rate, blood pressure (systolic and diastolic) and double product. A population of 69 subjects averaging 41.7 ± 6.6 years old had their data registered by applying the Bruce Protocol modified to calculate metabolic variables;to obtain the percentage of fat, the formula of Petroski was used. The data collected received statistical treatment by the “Statistical 5.0” program with correlation being made by the calculation of the simple coefficient of Pearson “r” by means of a statistical significance test (p < 0.05). In the results, heart rate appeared to be correlated essentially with the intensity of force, associating itself with the percentage of fat and the BMI. Blood pressure presented a good correlation with the BMI, principally in the female group. In the male group, the anthropometrical indicator that had major associations with blood pressure was the WHR, showing an association between the pattern of male body fat distribution (android) and blood pressure. The double-product had a major correlation with the BMI;however, this variable really reflects the work of the myocardium since the BMI is the only indicator used here that includes lean mass in its values. The time spent on the treadmill was correlated in a negative way only with the percentage of fat;in other words, the greater the percentage, the lesser time spent on the treadmill.

The mafic enclaves from Paleoproterozoic domain are considered to be the results of large-scale crust-mantle interaction and magma mixing. In this paper, petrography, mineralogy and geochemistry were jointly used to determine the origin of the mafic enclaves and their relationship with the host granitoids of the Kan granite-gneiss complex. This study also provides new information on crust-mantle interactions. The mafic enclaves of the Kan vary in shape and size and have intermediate chemical compositions. The diagrams used show a number of similarities in the major elements (and often in the trace elements) between the mafic enclaves and the host granitoids. Geochemical show that the Kan rock are metaluminous, enriched in silica, medium to high-K calc-alkaline I-type granite. The similarities reflect a mixing of basic and acid magma. Mafic enclaves have a typical magmatic structure, which is characterized by magma mixing. The genesis of these rocks is associated with the context of subduction. They result from the mixing of a mafic magma originating from the mantle and linked to subduction, and a granitic magma (type I granite) that arises from the partial melting of the crust.

The ultimate goal and highlight of this paper are to explore water levels along the coast of Bangladesh efficiently due to the nonlinear interaction of tide and surge by employing the method of lines(MOLs)with the aid of newly proposed RKAHeM(4,4)*** this regard,the spatial derivatives of shallow water equations(SWEs)were discretized by means of a finite difference method to obtain a system of ordinary differential equations(ODEs)of initial valued with time as an independent *** obtained system of ODEs was solved by the RKAHeM(4,4)***-way nested grid technique was exercised to incorporate coastal complexities closely with minimum computational cost.A stable tidal oscillation was produced over the region of interest by applying the most influential tidal constituent M2 along the southern open boundary of the outer *** newly developed model was applied to estimate water levels due to the non-linear interaction of tide and surge associated with the catastrophic cyclone April 1991 along the coast of *** approach employed in the study was found to perform well and ensure conformity with real-time observations.

In this study, numerical prediction of surges associated with a storm was made through the method of lines（MOL） in coordination with the newly proposed RKARMS（4, 4） method for the meghna estuarine region, along the coast of Bangladesh. For this purpose, the vertically integrated shallow water equations（SWEs） in Cartesian coordinates were firstly transformed into ordinary differential equations（ODEs） of initial valued, which were then soloved using the new RKARMS（4, 4） method. Nested grid technique was employed for resolving the complexities of the region of interest with minimum cost. Fresh water discharge through the lower Meghna River was taken into account along the north east corner of the innermost child scheme. Numerical experiments were performed with the severe cyclone on April 1991 that crossed the coast over the study area. Simulated results by the study were found to be in good agreement with some reported data and were found to compare well with the results obtained by the MOL in addition with the classical 4th order Runge-Kutta（RK（4, 4）） method and the standard finite difference method（FDM）.

The Impact of Delays during the Pandemic Months on Survival of Lung Cancer Patients in Canada in 2020

Background and Purpose: Most cancer deaths in the world are due to lung cancer and diagnosis and treatment delays sharply reduce survival in lung cancer patients. This study examined the impact of delays during the early months of the pandemic on the survival of newly identified lung cancer patients in Canada in 2020. Method: This was a secondary data analysis from published literature and openly available data sources. Cancer Statistics from existing literature were used as a proxy for the month-wise distribution of lung cancer cases in Canada. The incidence of lung cancer, using population statistics from Statistics Canada and incidence rates from the Canadian Cancer Statistics in 2020, was estimated. The population-based Excel model employed compounded cuts on the incidence to arrive at the outcomes. *** tool was used to digitize the survival versus time curves for each stage from secondary sources. Stage-wise incidences for each sex were calculated for each age group for each month of 2020. Using delay impact on each stage the final results were calculated. Results: A total of 5004 life years would have been lost due to 448 deaths in the long term (40 months) attributed to the delays caused during March, April, May and June in Canada. The estimated incidence for all stages of lung cancer for these months was 9801 although the observed incidence was expected to be 6571 due to reduced screenings. Hence, it was within the missing 3231 cases that delays would occur. Over the short term (10 months) there are expected to be 151 early deaths and 273 deaths in the intermediate-term (20 months). Conclusions: This study using a mathematical model showed that in 2020, the COVID epidemic resulted in higher mortality and fewer lung cancer diagnoses in Canada. As a result of the delays in assessment, screening, and treatment that accompanied the pandemic lockdowns, there has been a rise in total life years lost due to lung cancer, demonstrating the pandemic’s hug

The Gold District of Korhogo, in the northern region of C?te d’Ivoire, holds enormous potential for gold mineralizations, some of which are under exploration phase and others in exploitation phase (example of Tongon Gold Mine). Dormant since 1998, Mapping Services of most of the West African countries hardly provide geological maps at the scales of: 1/200,000, 1/50,000 and 1/25,000. This situation of unavailability of detailed geological maps does not help mining operators in the selection of prolific areas and also in the interpretation of in soil geochem anomies or gold mineralizations. Consequently, during the years 2020 and 2021, we have undertaken a campaign of geological mapping and petro-structural study of the northern sector of Komborodougou, located in the southern extension of Banfora Birimian Belt. This work, which allowed the realization of a geological map at 1/20,000 scale, reveals that: the mapped area includes three (3) major lithological units: 1) a volcano-sedimentary unit made up of metasediments (metaarenites, metasiltites and metaflyschs) and metavolcanites (metabasalts), which are metamorphosed and outcrop in the form of schists;2) a metaplutonic and intrusive unit composed on the one hand of quartz-diorites and metagabbros, and on the other hand of granites and granodiorites;3) and finally, a unit of dikes formed by microgranites, microgabbros, aplites and quartzites. The volcano-sedimentary complex is affected by a regional fold with an axis subparallel to the regional tectonic grain and an S1 schistosity oriented NE-SW to NNE-SSW with steep dips (>60o), except for those of the metaflyschs which are weak (o);a regional NW-SE compression would be at the origin of the setting of this schistosity. The volcano-sediment and metaplutonite complex is crossed in a NNE-SSW direction by a senetral shear-zone or main shear-zone and secondary shear-zones oriented sometimes NE-SW or N-S.
