The occurrence of.pharmaceuticals in water bodies and drinking water poses risks f.r the envi-ronment and human health,thus it is necessary to study methodologies that allow the ef.icient removal of.these *** this work,corn cob-derived biochar was obtained by ZnCl_(2)-activation,and subsequent carbonization at 700℃.The ef.ect of.contact time,temperature,pH,and initial concentration on the adsorption capacity of.acetaminophen(ACE)and amoxicillin(AMX)was determined through batch *** addition,the kinetics,isotherms,and ther-modynamics parameters were *** activated biochar exhibited a maximum adsorp-tion capacity of.332.08 mg/g f.r ACE and 175.86 mg/g f.r *** adsorption kinetics and adsorption isotherm of.ACE corresponded to the pseudo-second order and Langmuir model,***,pseudo-f.rst-order kinetics and the f.eundlich isotherm model were well-f.tted to AMX *** ACE and AMX co-adsorption had a synergistic ef.ect on AMX but an antagonistic ef.ect on ACE removal,achieving a maximum adsorption capacity of.193.51 and 184.58 mg/g,*** the other hand,f.xed-bed column experiments showed that the adsorption capacity depends on the inf.uent concentration,and the breakthrough curve f.ts the Thomas and Yoon-Nelson *** mechanism adsorption studies showed that surf.ce inter-actions(hydrogen bonding f.rmation and n-𝜋interactions)are the main driving f.rces f.r the adsorption process,and pore f.lling is the rate-limiting *** this way,the prepared biochar exhibits a high potential f.r the adsorption of.pharmaceutical compounds f.om water.

Conf.rmance control or water shut-of. is a technique used to improve oil *** conf.rmance control,polymers block high permeability water areas and redistribute water drive toward unswept oil *** this study,co-polymers(denoted ATP-PGV/AM-co-AMPS)were synthesized using acrylamide(AM)and 2-acrylamide-2-methylpropane sulf.nic acid(AMPS)as the monomers,polyethylene glycol(PEG)-200 and methylenebisacrylamide(MBA)as the crosslinkers,attapulgite(ATP)and bentonite(PGV)as the clay types,and ammonium persulf.te(APS)as the initiator,in addition to paraf.in oil and *** were synthesized using inverse emulsion polymerization with dif.erent concentrations of.monomers,crosslinkers,and clays,and they were characterized using f.urier-transf.rm inf.ared(f.IR)spectroscopy and scanning electron microscopy(SEM)with energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy(EDX).f.IR spectra of.the samples conf.rmed the existence of.sulf.nate and hydroxyl groups,which are important f.r polymer ***-EDX images indicated that the morphology and elemental composition were dif.erent bef.re and af.er swelling,conf.rming the occurrence of.***,samples were placed in sodium chloride solution(20,000 ppm)f.r 7 days to evaluate swelling at both room temperature and 90°*** analysis(TGA)and dif.erential scanning calorimetry(DSC)were used to determine the thermal characteristics of.the ***,rheological measurements were used to assess the def.rmation and rheological behavior of.the *** results showed that af.er 1 day,good swelling without loss of.mechanical strength was achieved with the composite synthesized using 10%AM,15%AMPS,6%PGV,and 10%ATP.

The conception drawing in architecture is that allows to initiate the architectural thinking,visualizing,and discovering the f.rst *** drawing has traditionally been given as an act of.linking and collaboration between thought,sight,and the movement of.the hands with a *** and recognizing its characteristics will make it possible to deal with any mediation of.inf.rmation *** establish such characteristics,three case studies were carried *** analysis was made of.the conception drawings and interviews by the Pritzker Prize laureates:Ando,Hadid and *** condition and f.ur characteristics have been determined:drawing is a phenomenological action that produces haptic drawings;it is an undecided process that originates unf.rmed drawings;it is a f.st action that results in small and multiplied drawings;it is a perceptual act that generates redrawn and remarked drawings;and f.nally,it is an action that seeks to remember to resume the creative process at another moment,which produces rudimentary conventional *** these bef.re any technological mediation will be an important pedagogical contribution that will allow f.ture architects not to alter the cognitive processes that generate the f.rst ideas in the initial moments of.the architectural project.

Layered Potassium Titanium Niobate/Reduced Graphene Oxide Nanocomposite as a Potassium‑Ion Battery Anode

With graphite currently leading as the most viable anode f.r potassium-ion batteries(KIBs),other materials have been lef. relatively *** metal oxides are among these,with many positive attributes such as synthetic maturity,longterm cycling stability and f.st redox ***,to address this research def.ciency we report herein a layered potassium titanium niobate KTiNbO5(KTNO)and its rGO nanocomposite(KTNO/rGO)synthesised via solvothermal methods as a high-perf.rmance anode f.r *** ef.ective distribution across the electrically conductive rGO,the electrochemical perf.rmance of.the KTNO nanoparticles was *** potassium storage perf.rmance of.the KTNO/rGO was demonstrated by its f.rst charge capacity of.128.1 mAh g^(−1) and reversible capacity of.97.5 mAh g^(−1) af.er 500 cycles at 20 mA g^(−1),retaining 76.1%of.the initial capacity,with an exceptional rate perf.rmance of.54.2 mAh g^(−1)at 1 A g^(−1).f.rthermore,to investigate the attributes of.KTNO in-situ XRD was perf.rmed,indicating a low-strain ***-situ X-ray photoelectron spectra f.rther investigated the mechanism of.charge storage,with the titanium showing greater redox reversibility than the *** work suggests this lowstrain nature is a highly advantageous property and well worth regarding KTNO as a promising anode f.r f.ture high-perf.rmance KIBs.

Increased CO2 Levels during the f.rst Half.of.Incubation at High Altitude Modif.es Embryonic Development of.f.rtile Leghorn Breeder Eggs

The exchange of.oxygen (O2) and carbon dioxide (CO2) within an incubator has a signif.cant impact on embryonic development (ED) and hatching processes. This study examines the inf.uence of.non-ventilation (NV) conditions during the f.rst ten days of.incubation at high altitudes on Leghorn hens hatching eggs. f.ve hundred f.ur hatching eggs were equally divided into three treatment groups and placed in twelve incubators (R = 4). The f.rst group was subjected to standard ventilated conditions (V) during the setting phase. The ventilation inlet holes of.the remaining incubators in the NV treatments were closed with either micropore (M) or polypropylene (P) tape, ref.rred to as NVM and NVP groups, respectively. These two dif.erent airtight settings were intended to allow f.r a gradual rise in CO2 naturally generated by the embryos. Results indicate that carbon dioxide concentration gradually increased during the f.rst half.of.incubation, reaching 1.42% in the NVM group and 1.20% in the NVP group, while the V condition group remained at 0.15%. f.om 10 days of.incubation onwards, normal V conditions were restored in all incubators. The highest hatchability of.f.rtile eggs (Hf.) was shown by the NVP group (55.7%), f.llowed by the V (52.6%) and NVM (38.6%) groups. The NVP group showed a greater yolk-f.ee body mass (Yf.M) f.om 10 days of.incubation until the hatch basket transf.r. NV conditions during the f.rst 10 days of.incubation at high altitude produced higher Yf.M with gradually decreasing yolk sac mass. In comparison to the NVM and V conditions, the particular NVP condition showed a benef.cial impact on the quality of.hatched chicks. Sustaining NVP condition (1.2% of.CO2) throughout the f.rst half.of.incubation at high altitude generated the optimal environment in the incubator ensuring the best hatchability results. Comparisons of.oxbow lake f.sh assemblages in relation to bigheaded carp establishment in the lower White River, Arkansas

Background Since the late 1990s, bigheaded carps(largely silver carp [Hypophthalmichthys molitrix] but also bighead carp [H. nobilis]) have established throughout the lower Mississippi River basin. Using previously studied oxbow lakes in the lower White River basin, Arkansas, we compared current(2017, “post-carp” establishment) f.sh assemblages to historical(2002, “pre-carp” establishment) f.sh assemblages. f.sh assemblages were comprehensively assessed using multiple gears, including boat electrof.shing, mini-f.ke nets, and experimental small-mesh gill *** T-tests suggested that f.sh assemblage indices of.richness, diversity, evenness, and dominance were of.en greater(P f.ected by boat electrof.shing and experimental gill nets. However, all indices were generally similar(P > 0.05) between the pre-carp and post-carp period with f.sh assemblages depicted using mini-f.ke nets. Nonmetric multidimensional scaling analyses indicated that f.sh assemblages dif.ered structurally between pre-carp and post-carp periods. Assemblage dif.erences were linked to both small and large abundance changes f.r more than 20 species. Abundances of.gizzard shad(Dorosoma cepedianum), emerald shiner(Notropis atherinoides), pugnose minnow(Opsopoeodus emiliae), crappies(Pomoxis spp.), bluegill(Lepomis macrochirus), orangespotted sunf.sh(L. humilis), and yellow bass(Morone mississippiensis) declined between the pre-carp and postcarp periods. Conversely, abundances of.weed shiner(N. texanus), pallid shiner(Hybopsis amnis), longear sunf.sh(L. megalotis), buf.alof.shes(Ictiobus spp.), and gars(Lepisosteus spp.) generally increased during the same *** Although not possible to conclude assemblage shif.s were entirely related to bigheaded carps due to the absence of.an appropriate ref.rence system where carps did not establish, the wide establishment of.these carps is one of.the most pervasive changes to have occurred in the lower White

The interaction between auxin and cytokinin is important in many aspects of.plant *** measurements of.both auxin and cytokinin concentration and reporter gene expression clearly show the coexistence of.auxin and cytokinin concentration patterning in Arabidopsis root ***,in the context of.crosstalk among auxin,cytokinin,and ethylene,little is known about how auxin and cytokinin concentration patterns simultaneously emerge and how they regulate each other in the Arabidopsis *** work utilizes a wide range of.experimental observations to propose a mechanism f.r simultaneous patterning of.auxin and cytokinin *** addition to revealing the regulatory relationships between auxin and cytokinin,this mechanism shows that ethylene signaling is an important f.ctor in achieving simultaneous auxin and cytokinin patterning,while also predicting other experimental *** the mechanism with a realistic in silico root model reproduces experimental observations of.both auxin and cytokinin *** made by the mechanism can be compared with a variety of.experimental observations,including those obtained by our group and other independent experiments reported by other *** of.these predictions include patterning of.auxin biosynthesis rate,changes in PIN1 and PIN2 patterns in pin3,4,7 mutants,changes in cytokinin patterning in the pls mutant,PLS patterning,and various trends in dif.erent *** research reveals a plausible mechanism f.r simultaneous patterning of.auxin and cytokinin concentrations in Arabidopsis root development and suggests a key role f.r ethylene pattern integration.
