The aim of this paper is to derive a stable and efficient scheme for solving the one-dimensional time-fractional nonlinear Schrodinger equation set in an unbounded *** first derive absorbing boundary conditions for the fractional system by using the unified approach introduced in[47,48]and a linearization ***,the initial boundary-value problem for the fractional system with ABCs is discretized,a stability analysis is developed and the error estimate O(h^(2)+τ)is *** accel-erate the L1-scheme in time,a sum-of-exponentials approximation is introduced to speed-up the evaluation of the Caputo fractional *** resulting algorithm is highly efficient for long time ***,we end the paper by reporting some numerical simulations to validate the properties(accuracy and efficiency)of the derived scheme.

In this study, a new four-parameter distribution called the Modi Exponentiated Exponential distribution was proposed and studied. The new distribution has three shape and one scale parameters. Its mathematical and statistical properties were investigated. The parameters of the new model were estimated using the method of Maximum Likelihood Estimation. Monte Carlo simulation was used to evaluate the performance of the MLEs through average bias and RMSE. The flexibility and goodness-of-fit of the proposed distribution were demonstrated by applying it to two real data sets and comparing it with some existing distributions.

Immunization with adjuvant plus antigen induces durable T-cell immunity and is a mainstay of vaccines. Here, the consequence of separating antigen stimulation of T cells from the adjuvant response was studied in a re-transfer model. Effector CD8 T cells in recipient mice were exposed to lipopolysaccharide （LPS）, the Toll-like receptor 4 （TLR4） ligand, which significantly increased persistence. While accumulation in lymphoid and non-lymphoid organs was evident, this result depended upon the timing of LPS administration and the presence of the TLR4 adaptor TRIF in the recipient mice. Interestingly, there was very little impact of the LPS response on subset differentiation, which rather appeared to be programmed by antigen and costimulation. To discern factors that limit accumulation, interleukin 10 （IL-IO） was targeted since it is a product of TLR4 triggering and mitigates inflammation. Blockade of IL-IO increased accumulation even though the effector CD8 T cells were well past the priming phase, but upon recall interferon-y secretion was not affected as would be expected when IL-IO is present during priming. Thus, the adjuvant-altered microenvironment is effective not only in the presence of antigen but also during a window of effector CD8 T-cell stasis, suggesting that pathogen-associated molecular pattern molecules released during co-infection, oT by vaccines, could alter the survival fate of specific effector T cells.

A series of azobenzene containing side-on liquid crystalline ABA triblock copolymers were investigated. This triblock series possesses the same central liquid crystal block B and various lengths of the amorphous block A. Transmission electron microscopy （TEM）, small angle X-rays and neutron scattering （SAXS and SANS） were used to study their morphologies. After annealing the samples over weeks at a temperature within the nematic temperature range of block B, different morphologies （disordered, lamellar, perforated layer and hexagonal cylinder） were observed by TEM. The alignment behavior of these azo triblock copolymers in the magnetic field for artificial muscle application, as well as the phase period and the order-disorder transition （ODT） were studied in situ by SANS.

Cysteine is a sulfur-containing amino acid that easily coordinates to soft metal ions and grafts to noble metal surfaces. We report a simple synthetic approach for the production of chiral gold-cysteine polymeric nanoparticles soluble in water. Conjugation of cysteine with gold in a polymeric way, leading to;0 nm diameter nanoparticles, resulted in the generation of new characteristic circular dichroism（CD） signals in the region of 250–400 nm, whereas no CD signal changes were found with cysteine alone. We also investigate their nonlinear optical properties after two-photon absorption. Two-photon emission spectra and first hyperpolarizabilities, as obtained by the hyper-Rayleigh scattering technique, of these particles are presented.

BACKGROUND The lack of space,as an indication for a native unilateral nephrectomy for positioning a future kidney graft in the absence of other autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease-related symptoms,remains *** To evaluate the surgical comorbidity and the impact on graft survival of an associated ipsilateral native nephrectomy during isolated kidney transplantation in patients with autosomal dominant polycystic kidney *** One hundred and fifty-four kidney transplantations performed between January 2007 and January 2019 of which 77 without(kidney transplant alone(KTA)group)and 77 with associated ipsilateral nephrectomy(KTIN group),were retrospectively *** and surgical variables were analyzed and their respective impact on surgical comorbidity and graft *** Creation of space for future graft positioning was the main reason(n=74,96.1%)for associated ipsilateral *** significant difference in surgical comorbidity(lymphocele,wound infection,incisional hernia,wound hematoma,urinary infection,need for blood transfusion,hospitalization stay,Dindo Clavien classification and readmission rate)was observed between the two study *** incidence of primary nonfunction and delayed graft function was comparable in both groups[0%and 2.6%(P=0.497)and 9.1%and 16.9%(P=0.230),respectively,in the KTA and KTIN group].The 1-and 5-year graft survival were 94.8%and 90.3%,and 100%and 93.8%,respectively,in the KTA and KTIN group(P=0.774).The 1-and 5-year patient survival were 96.1%and 92.9%,and 100%and 100%,respectively,in the KTA and KTIN group(P=0.168).CONCLUSION Simultaneous ipsilateral native nephrectomy to create space for graft positioning during kidney transplantation in patients with autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease does not negatively impact surgical comorbidity and short-and long-term graft survival.

AIM To investigate the prevalence and causes of cholestasis in patients with inflammatory bowel diseases in the Swiss Inflammatory Bowel Diseases Cohort. METHODS A retrospective cohort study was performed of all the patients in the Swiss Inflammatory bowel disease Cohort. Total bile acid was measured for all patients and cholestasis was defined as a concentration > 8 μmol/L. The characteristics of patients with or without cholestasis were compared. Bile acid profiles were then determined for 80 patients with high total bile acid and 80 matched patients with low total bile acid. Bile acid profiles were compared for smokers vs nonsmokers, ileal vs colonic disease, and inflammatory vs non inflammatory *** Ninety-six patients had more than 8 μmol/L total bile acid, giving a prevalence of 7.15%. Patients with an obvious cause of cholestasis, such as primary sclerosing cholangitis, were then excluded, leaving 1190 participants with total bile acid 8 μmol/L. In multivariate analysis, calcium supplementation was significantly associated with cholestasis(odds ratio, 2.36, 95%CI: 1.00-5.21, P = 0.040) whereas current smoking significantly reduced the risk of cholestasis(odds ratio, 0.42, 95%CI: 0.17-0.91, P = 0.041). Levels of all conjugated bile acids were higher in the cholestasis group than in the control group. When we compared patients with ileal vs colonic disease, the former had higher levels of primary, secondary, and tertiary bile acids whereas patients with colonic disease had higher levels of conjugated bile *** Prevalence of cholestasis is high. Smoking appears to reduce cholestasis. Conjugated bile acids are higher in cholestasis and in colonic disease whereas unconjugated in ileal disease.
