In this work,an alternative alkali-activated cem.nt(AAC)m.de of ladle slag precursor m.xed with sodium.hydroxide and sodium.silicate has been developed to enhance the bearing capacity of estuarine soils in coastal conditions via deep soil m.xing(DSm..The AAC was optim.zed to use a low reactivity precursor(ladle slag)and to deal with a contam.nated high-water content natural sedim.nt cured under *** m.terial perform.nce was analysed by com.arison to a m.xture m.de with Portland cem.nt and cured in the sam. *** and unconfined com.ressive strength tests as well as seism.c waves m.asurem.nts after 3-,7-,14-and 28-d curing were perform.d to obtain a relationship between elastic stiffness and strength with curing tim. for both ***,the AAC m.x dem.nstrated superior strength results,exhibiting alm.st double flexural and com.ressive strengths after 28 d com.ared to the Portland cem.nt *** AAC m.x also showed a higher rate of stiffness increase than the Portland cem.nt m.x,which has a higher initial stiffness at young ages but lower stiffness *** analysis confirm.d that the proposed AAC could effectively im.obilise any contam.nants from.soil or *** effect of curing under stress was analysed in triaxial com.ression tests and found to be insignificant,indicating that laboratory data obtained without stress curing can represent the m.terial's behaviour in a DSm.colum.,which will cure under the weight of the colum..

m.in environm.ntal variables influencing the abundance of plant species under risk category

Determ.ning clim.tic and physiographic variables in m.xico’s m.jor ecoregions that are lim.ting to biodiversity and species of high conservation concern is essential for their ***,at the national level to date,few studies have been perform.d with large data sets and crossconfirm.tion using m.ltiple statistical ***,we used 25 endem.c,rare and endangered species from.3610 sam.ling points throughout m.xico and 25 environm.ntal attributes,including average precipitation for different seasons of the year,annual dryness index,slope of the terrain;and m.xim.m.m.nim.m.and average tem.eratures to test our hypothesis that these species could be assessed with the sam. weight am.ng all variables,showing sim.lar indices of *** results using principal com.onent analysis,covariation analysis by perm.tations,and random.forest regression showed that sum.er precipitation,length of the frost-free period,spring precipitation,winter precipitation and growing season precipitation all strongly influence the abundance of tropical *** contrast,annual precipitation and the balance at different seasons(sum.er and growing season)were the m.st relevant variables on the tem.erate region *** dry areas,the m.nim.m.tem.erature of the coldest m.nth and the m.xim.m.tem.erature of the warm.st m.nth were the m.st significant *** these different associations in different clim.tic regions could support a m.re precise m.nagem.nt and conservation plan for the preservation of plant species diversity in forests under different global warm.ng scenarios.

Aggregate Developm.nt and Organic m.tter Storage in m.diterranean m.untain Soils

Soil aggregation and organic m.tter of soils from.the pre-Pyrenean range in Catalonia (NE Spain) were studied,in order to assess their quality as carbon sinks and also to select the best soil m.nagem.nt practices to preserve their *** stability,organic carbon and m.crom.rphology were *** highest am.unt of organic carbon was found in alluvial,deep soils (228 m. C ha -1 ),and the lowest was in a shallow,stony soil with a low plant cover (78 m. C ha -1 ).Subsurface horizons of degraded soils under pastures were the ones with sm.ller and less-stable *** residues of organic m.tter (Om. were found m.stly in interaggregate *** the aggregates there were som. organic rem.ins that were beginning to decom.ose,and also im.regnative nodules of am.rphous *** Om.was evenly distributed am.ng the aggregate fractions,the larger blocky peds had m.re specific surface,contained less decom.osed Om.and had a lower organic/m.neral interphase than sm.ller crum. aggregates,which were also m.re *** carbon storage was affected prim.rily by the Om.inputs in the surface *** order to store organic carbon over the m.d- and long-term.periods,the m.chanism. favouring structuration through biological activity and creating sm.ll aggregates with intrapedal stable m.croporosities seem.d to be the m.st effective.

Hardy spaces with generalized param.ter are introduced following the m.xim.l characterization approach. As particular cases, they include the classical Hp spaces and the Hardy-Lorentz spaces H^p,q. Real interpolation results with function param.ter are obtained, Based on them. the behavior of som. classical operators is studied in this generalized setting.

An interrogation sensor system.com.ining the ＂figure-of-eight＂ fiber loop m.rror using a single directional 3×3 fiber optic coupler was proposed. One fiber loop m.rror was form.d by inserting a length of high birefringent optical fiber at the input ports of the 3×3 coupler. Splicing the output ports of the 3×3 coupler between them.created the other fiber loop m.rror. The introduction of this second loop gave rise to two polarization states of light with the sam. frequency but different optical phase. The m.chanical torsion sensing head was located at the second loop and was exhibited an average m.dulus torsion sensitivity of 7.9×10^-4 degree/dB. Ephedroid m.crofossils have been widely docum.nted in Cretaceous deposits,including num.rous from.the Lower Cretaceous Yixian Form.tion of NE ***,few ephedroid m.crofossils have been reported from.South ***,we describe a new plant of the fam.ly Ephedraceae,Arlenea delicata *** ***.,from.the Lower Cretaceous Crato Form.tion of the Araripe Basin,Northeast Brazil,based on the vegetative and reproductive *** has the typical m.rphological characteristics of ephedroid plants,including fertile reproductive branches,opposite phyllotaxy,term.nal fem.le cones,a sym.odial branching system.longitudinally striated internodes,and swollen *** new finding is unusual in having inner chlam.dosperm. subtended by two pairs of bracts,reproductive units connected to branches through swollen receptacles and a sm.oth seed *** new ephedroid taxon from.the Crato Form.tion increases our understanding of plant diversity of this group during the Early ***,the general m.rphology(fleshy bracts and enlarged receptacles)of this new fossil discovery indicates that seeds of this plant m.y have been dispersed by anim.ls such as pterosaurs(m.inly the Tapejaridae)and birds(Enantiornithes and Orniturom.rpha).If true,this would explain the cosm.politan distribution of Ephedraceae in the Lower Cretaceous.

This study sim.liﬁes the com.lex relationship am.ng grapevine plants,aphids,ladybirds,and ants,which is essential for effective pest m.nagem.nt and ecological *** study investigated the im.act of aphid attacks and the presence of ants and ladybirds on the volatile com.ounds proﬁle released into the chem.sphere of the com.unity consisting of the com.on vine Vitis vinifera,the aphid Aphis illinoisensis,the ladybird Cocci-nella undecim.unctata-and the ant Tapinom. *** study aim. to analyze the volatile com.ounds em.tted by the grapevine and surrounding insects in response to these intricate *** extraction of volatile organic com.ounds(VOCs)was carried out using closed-loop stripping(CLS)and then analyzed via gas chrom.tography-m.ss spectrom.try(GC-m.)and principles coordinated analysis(PCA)was *** grapevine was exposed to different types and order of treatm.nts,including non-infested,aphid-infested,aphid-infested with ant,aphid-infested with ladybird,and various com.inations of ant and *** the aphid attack,the outcom.s uncovered m.ssive alterations in the volatile com.ound proﬁ*** grapevine displayed distinct em.ssions of germ.crene D,an alcohol,and an alkene com.ared to non-infested *** characteristic VOC proﬁle was the share of infested grapes in the presence of ants,with benzene derivatives and sesquiterpenes dom.nating the *** coexistence of ladybirds with ants and aphids resulted in a dif-ferent volatile proﬁle characterized by elevated levels of aldehydes,ketones,α-farnesene,and its hydroxy *** was concluded that the em.ssion of VOCs into the chem.sphere of the grapevine com.unities varied qualitatively and quantitatively depending on the level of the relationship com.lexity within each com.unity in response to the infestation of grapevines by aphids,the presence of ladybirds as natural predators,and the presence of ant as *** grapevine’s status-dependent com.ounds
