Isolated metastatic melanoma of the pancreas is very ***,there is very limited experience with surgical resection of pancreatic *** potential benefit of metastasectomy can improve the quality of life and survival time of *** present a case of a 39-year-old Chinese male with a solitary pancreatic tumor which was considered a cystic benign lesion for *** and immunohistochemistry showed that the tumor in pancreatic tail was a metastasis from a malignant melanoma of the *** other metastastic foci were found in *** tumor was completely resected with combined distal pancreatectomy and *** patient has survived 25 mo without any signs of local recurrence or other metastatic lesions after operation,indicating that complete surgical resection of a solitary metastatic melanoma of the pancreas can prolong the survival time of patients.

AIM: To identify new diagnostic markers and drug targets,the gene expression profiles of pancreatic cancer were compared with that of adjacent normal tissues utilizing cDNA microarray ***: cDNA probes were prepared by labeling mRNA from samples of six pancreatic carcinoma tissues with Cy5dUTP and mRNA from adjacent normal tissues with Cy3dUTP respectively through reverse transcription. The mixed probes of each sample were then hybridized with 12 800cDNA arrays (12 648 unique human cDNA sequences), and the fluorescent signals were scanned by ScanArray 3 000scanner (General Scanning, Inc.). The values of CyS-dUTP and Cy3-dUTP on each spot were analyzed and calculated by ImaGene 3.0 software (BioDiscovery, Inc.). Differentially expressed genes were screened according to the criterion that the absolute value of natural logarithm of the ratio of Cy5-dUTP to Cy3-dUTP was greater-than ***: Among 6 samples investigated, 301 genes, which accounted for 2.38% of genes on the microarry slides,exhibited differentially expression at least in 5. There were 166 over-expressed genes including 136 having been registered in Genebank, and 135 under-expressed genes including 79 in Genebank in cancerous ***: Microarray analysis may provide invaluable information on disease pathology, progression, resistance to treatment, and response to cellular microenvironments of pancreatic carcinoma and ultimately may lead to improving early diagnosis and discovering innovative therapeutic approaches for cancer.

AIM： To investigate the relationship between donor liver cold preservation, lung surfactant （LS） changes and acute lung injury （ALI） after liver transplantation. METHODS： Liver transplantation models were estab- lished using male Wistar rats. Donor livers were pre- served in university of Wisconsin solution at 4 ℃ for different lengths of time. The effect of ammonium pyr- rolidinedithiocarbamate （PDTC） on ALI was also detect- ed. All samples were harvested after 3 h *** severity of AU was evaluated by lung weight/body weight ratio, lung histopathological score, serum nitric oxide （NO） and endothelin （ET）-I levels, lung tumor necrosis factor （TNF）-α and interleukin （IL）-1β levels. Lung surfactants （LSs） were determined by micellar electrokinetic capillary chromatography. RESULTS： With extended donor liver cold preservation time （CPT）, lung histopathological scores, serum ET-i levels, lung weight/body weight ratio and the level of TNF-α and IL-1β in lung were increased significantly in the 180-min group compared with the sham group （3.16± 0.28 vs 1.12 ± 0.21, P 〈 0.001; 343.59±53.97 vs 141.53± 48.48, P 〈 0.001; 0.00687 ±0.00037 vs 0.00557 ±0.00056, P 〈 0.001; 17.5 ± 3.0 vs 1,3 ± 0.3, P 〈 0.001; 10.8± 2.3 vs 1.8 ± 0.4, P 〈 0.001）, but serum NO levels decreased remarkably （74.67 ± 10.01 vs 24.97 ± 3.18, P 〈 0.001）. The expression of lung phos- phatidylcholine （PC）, phosphatidylethanolamine （PE）, phosphatidylinositol （PI） and phosphatidylserine （PS） increased when CPT was 〈 120 rain, and decreased when CPT was 〉 180 min （PC： 1318.89 ± 54.79 vs 1011.18± 59.99, P 〈 0.001; PE： 1504.45± 119.96 vs 1340.80±76.39, P = 0.0019; PI： 201.23 ± 34.82 vs 185.88 ± 17.04, P = 0.2265; PS： 300.43±32.95 vs 286.55± 55.55, P = 0.5054）. All these ALI-associated indexes could be partially reversed by PDTC treatment.

Objective To observe the expression of hypoxia inducible factor-1α (HIF-1α) in the retina of rabbits with acute high intraocular pressure and to investigate the mechanism of systemic domestic recombinant human erythropoietin (rhEPO) protecting the retina from ischemia-reperfusion injury. Methods First,control group and model group were established in rabbit eyes. The acute high intraocular pressure model was established by saline perfusion into anterior chamber,and then hypodermic injection of domestic rhEPO was made. HIF-1α protein in the retina was observed by immunohistochemical staining method on days 1,3,7 and 14 after retinal ischemia-reperfusion,respectively. Results No cells with HIF-1α positive expression were observed in the retina of the control group. Cells with HIF-1α positive expression in the model group outnumbered those in the control group (P<0.01). The resemblance pattern occurred in EPO group but its degree was slightly greater than that in the model group from day 3 after ischemia-reperfusion (P<0.05). Conclusion Domestic rhEPO can down-regulate the expression of HIF-1α in the retina with acute high intraocular pressure,which may be one of the mechanisms that rhEPO protects the retina from ischemia-reperfusion injury.

Objective To investigate the effect of glutamine(Gln)on the content of reduced glutathione hormone(GSH)and aminoglutaminic acid(Glu)of spinal cord following ischemia-reperfusion *** Totally 40 healthy adult male rabbits were randomly divided into five groups:sham-operation group(S group),ischemia-reperfusion injury group(I/R group),low-dose glutamine group(L Gln group),median-dose glutamine group(M Gln group)and high-dose glutamine group(H Gln group).After glutamine preconditioning,the model of spinal cord ischemia-reperfusion injury was established according to Zivin’s *** general status of animals was observed and the changes of Jacobs scoring were recorded in each ***(MDA),GSH,Glu and superoxide dismutase(SOD)activity in lumbar spinal cord tissues were determined using chemical *** neuron number and deviation rate in spinal cord anterior horn were observed *** There was no significant difference between L Gln group and I/R group in behavior scoring,SOD activity,content of MDA and Glu,neuron number and deviation rate of spinal cord(P>0.05);however,there was a significant difference in GSH content of spinal cord(P0.05),whereas there was a significant difference in SOD activity and Glu content(P<0.05).Conclusion Pretreatment with medium-dose glutamine has a protective effect on spinal cord ischemia-reperfusion injury in rabbits,which may be related to the maintenance of GSH content,increase of SOD activity and reduction of MDA.

目的:寻找一种操作简单、并发症少,又具有中心静脉置管优点的导管置入法。方法:采取随机对照分组。经颈外静脉中心静脉置管组50例,经颈内静脉中心静脉置管组56例,比较两种置管途径的效果。结果:经颈外静脉组未发现并发症,但有5例导管不能插入上腔静脉。经颈内静脉组有2例动脉损伤,3例穿刺失败。两组穿刺成功率和并发症的差异无统计学意义。结论:经颈外静脉中心静脉置管是一种操作简单、并发症少的中心静脉置管方法。
