Sliding motion has always been one of the major concerns when it comes to the analysis of viscoelastic contact problems.A new model simulating the transient sliding contact of smooth viscoelastic surfaces is developed in this *** taking the dry contact friction and the coupling between shear tractions and normal pressure into account,the effect of the early partial slip period,which is often neglected in the study of viscoelastic sliding contact problems,is investigated *** with solutions based on the frictionless assumption,the steady-state pressure profile is found to be slightly different under the effect of the partial slip regime,including a lower peak pressure and the shift of the contacting region in the direction opposite to the sliding ***,the time required for the viscoelastic contact to reach its steady state is delayed owing to the partial slip period preceding the global sliding motion.

Millions of dollars are being spent on gully rehabilitation to help reduce excess fine sediment delivery to the Great Barrier Reef(GBR).there is an urgent need for(i)prioritisation of active gullies for rehabilitation and(ii)the development of methodologies to inform the effectiveness of *** this study we analyse DEMs of Difference derived from 0.5 m resolution 2-3 year interval multi-temporal LiDAR data collected pre and post rehabilitation at three variable gully morphologies in the Burdekin *** analysis indicates that the highest annual average fine sediment erosion rates for the untreated control gullies occur at the linear gully(53.38 t ha^(-1)y^(-1))followed by linear-alluvial gully(34.24 t ha^(-1)y^(-1))and least at the alluvial gully(14.41 t ha^(-1)y^(-1)).the proportional loss or export of fine sediment from the gullies in their un-treated condition ranges from∼68 to 90%of what is eroded,and when the gullies are treated the proportion of fine sediment that is retained in the gully proportional to what is eroded increases to∼60%at all *** pre-treatment baseline erosion rates,and additional post treatment LiDAR captures,it is difficult to quantify the treatment *** results offer insights in the erosion mechanisms within different geomorphic gully morphologies and rehabilitation effects in these erosional *** study provides crucial knowledge of gully dynamics that can be coupled with other lines of evidence for better prioritisation of rehabilitation in the GBR catchments.

the question of the link between pregnancy and eating disorders is an important question. At the moment, there are few concrete answers for these patients. Despite common fertility challenges, patients who suffer from ED are able to access maternity. ED and pregnancy can either have an easy evolution or experience a lot of trouble. Many studies describe obstetrical and foetal complications (low birthweight, inadequate intra-uterine growth, small head circumference, miscarriage, caesarean section). those patients are frequently reluctant to address their disease with their specialist, who also often doesn’t know how to screen the signs. the lack of official data to train the specialists further increases these difficulties. However, ED are frequent in the general population and young patients are likely to eventually want to become mothers. It is thus essential to know how to screen those patients early and accurately to improve their treatment and care. Eating disorders impact the pregnancy, the delivery and the postpartum as well as the growth of the baby. It is an important public health problem. the evolution from being a woman to becoming a mother is a difficult one, and even more so when the women is suffering from ED. those patients must handle their nutritional fears, the anxiety about their body changing with pregnancy and the daily challenges. the early interactions with their baby have consequences on their development. It seems necessary to evaluate how to improve the screening and the patient care in ED patients. Screening should begin from the pregnancy desire to the postpartum. this patient care should be based on a multidisciplinary care team.

Nitrogen(N) fertilizers in agriculture suffer losses by volatilization of N to the air, surface runoff and leaching into the soil, resulting in low N use efficiency(NUE)( 50%) and raising severe environmental pollutions. Controlledrelease nitrogen fertilizers(CRNFs) can control the release of N nutrients to NUE in crop production. Different methods were used to develop new ***, different CRNF technologies are still underdeveloped due to inadequate controlling on N releasing time and/or unsustainable diffusion. the study on the influences of CRNF processing parameters on microbial conditions are lacking when the CRNFs composed of various bio-ingredients such as biochar, composts, and biowaste. the complexity of processing methods, material biodegradability, and other physical properties make current CRNFs of questionable value in agricultural production. this research aims to develop a novel biochar-compost-based controlled-release urea fertilizer(BCRUF) to preserve microbial properties carried by the compost. the BCRUF was synthesized by pelletizing the 50:50(dry, wt/wt) mixture of biochar and compost. BCRUF was loaded with urea and then spray-coated with polylactic acid(PLA). the releasing time of two types of BCRUFs, coated and uncoated with PLA, for 80% of N release in water was up to 6 h at three different temperatures(4, 23, and 40 °C), compared to conventional urea fertilizer and commercial environmentally smart N(ESN) fertilizer. the releasing time of coated BCRUF for 80% N release in soil was up to 192 h(8 days). Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy(FtIR) analysis revealed that no new functional groups were found in the release solution, indicating no new chemical hazards generated. the differential scanning calorimetry(DSC)tests also verified that its thermal stability could be up to 160 °C. the microbe populations in the BCRUF pellets were reduced after the pelleting and drying processes in BCRUF fabrication, but a few bacteria can endure in t

BACKGROUND there are limited studies investigating the association between type 2 diabetes mellitus(t2DM)and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD)in the region of Bihar,*** to estimate the prevalence of NAFLD in persons with newly diagnosed t2DM in the population of North Bihar,*** this single centre cross-sectional study was undertaken in the Research Centre for Diabetes Hypertension and Obesity,Samastipur,Bihar,*** were collected from persons newly diagnosed with t2DM or those diagnosed within 6 months of when the study was conducted between December 2022 to May *** A total of 148 people with newly diagnosed t2DM were included(median age 47 years,46.6%female)and 109 patients with liver disease on ultrasound *** persons with liver disease consumed more fats and oils(88.1%vs 74.4%,P=0.042)and they had significantly greater body mass index(27.4 vs 23.0,Pt circumference(37 vs 33,Pt-to-hip ratio(1.00 vs 0.70,P=0.025).Females were associated with greater liver disease[odds ratio(OR):3.09,95%confidence interval(CI):1.09-8.80,P=0.32].Waist circumference(OR:1.42,95%CI:1.22-1.66,Pty lipoprotein cholesterol(OR:1.01,95%CI:1.01-1.02,P=0.048)were associated with any liver *** factors most associated with grade 2/3 liver disease was right upper quadrant pain or heaviness(OR:5.22,95%CI:1.40-19.41,P=0.14),greater income(OR:3.58,95%CI:1.28-10.04,P=0.015)and waist circumference(OR:1.31,95%CI:1.02-1.69,P=0.036).CONCLUSION NAFLD is common in new/recently diagnosed t2DM and disease burden is high and common among patients who are either high consumers of fats and oils or have obesity-associated markers.

In response to peripheral nerve injury, the inflammatory response is almost entirely comprised of infiltrating macrophages. Macrophages are a highly plastic, heterogenic immune cell, playing an indispensable role in peripheral nerve injury, clearing debris and regulating the microenvironment to allow for efficient regeneration. there are several cells within the microenvironment that likely interact with macrophages to support their function – most notably the Schwann cell, the glial cell of the peripheral nervous system. Schwann cells express several ligands that are known to interact with receptors expressed by macrophages, yet the effects of Schwann cells in regulating macrophage phenotype remains largely unexplored. this review discusses macrophages in peripheral nerve injury and how Schwann cells may regulate their behavior.
