Meal timing plays a crucial role for cardiometabolic health,given the circadian regulation of cardiometabolic ***,to the best of our knowledge,no concept of meal timing exists in traditional European medicine(TEM).Therefore,in this narrative review,we aim to define the optimal time slot for energy intake and optimal energy distribution throughout the day in a context of TEM and explore further *** reviewing literature published between 2002 and 2022,we found that optimal timing for energy intake may be between 06:00 and 09:00,12:00 and 14:00,and between 15:00 and18:00,with high energy breakfast,medium energy lunch and low energy dinner and possibly further adjustments according to one’s chronotype and ***,timing and distribution of energy intake may serve as a novel therapeutic strategy to optimize coction,a concept describing digestion and metabolism in TEM.

Sliding motion has always been one of the major concerns when it comes to the analysis of viscoelastic contact problems.A new model simulating the transient sliding contact of smooth viscoelastic surfaces is developed in this *** taking the dry contact friction and the coupling between shear tractions and normal pressure into account,the effect of the early partial slip period,which is often neglected in the study of viscoelastic sliding contact problems,is investigated *** with solutions based on the frictionless assumption,the steady-state pressure profile is found to be slightly different under the effect of the partial slip regime,including a lower peak pressure and the shift of the contacting region in the direction opposite to the sliding ***,the time required for the viscoelastic contact to reach its steady state is delayed owing to the partial slip period preceding the global sliding motion.

bACKGROUND Meniscal sparing surgery is a widely utilised treatment option for unstable meniscal tears with the aim of minimising the risk of progression towards ***,there is limited data in the literature on meniscal repair outcomes in skeletally immature *** To evaluate the re-operation rate and functional outcomes of meniscal repairs in children and *** We performed a retrospective review of all patients who underwent arthroscopic meniscal repair surgery between January 2007 and January *** patients were under the age of 18 at the time of *** were all performed by a single *** was gathered from our hospital Electronic Patient Records *** primary outcome measure was re-operation rate(need for further surgery on the same meniscus).Secondary outcome measures were surgical complications and patient reported outcome measures that were International Knee Documentation Committee(IKDC),Tegner and Lysholm *** We identified 59 patients who underwent 66 All-inside meniscal repairs(32 medial meniscus and 34 Lateral meniscus).Meniscal repairs were performed utilizing FasT-Fix(Smith and Nephew)*** were 37 males and 22 females with an average age of 14 years(range 6-16).The average follow-up time was 53 months(range 26-140).Six patients had concomitant anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction surgery along with the meniscal *** were no requiring further meniscal repairs and 9 patients underwent partial *** mean postoperative IKDC score was 88(44-100),Tegner score was 7(2-10)and Lysholm score was 94(57-100).CONCLUSION Our results showed that arthroscopic repair of meniscal tears in the paediatric population is an effective treatment option that has a low failure rate and good postoperative clinical with the advantage of preserving meniscal tissues.

Millions of dollars are being spent on gully rehabilitation to help reduce excess fine sediment delivery to the Great barrier Reef(GbR).There is an urgent need for(i)prioritisation of active gullies for rehabilitation and(ii)the development of methodologies to inform the effectiveness of *** this study we analyse DEMs of Difference derived from 0.5 m resolution 2-3 year interval multi-temporal LiDAR data collected pre and post rehabilitation at three variable gully morphologies in the burdekin *** analysis indicates that the highest annual average fine sediment erosion rates for the untreated control gullies occur at the linear gully(53.38 t ha^(-1)y^(-1))followed by linear-alluvial gully(34.24 t ha^(-1)y^(-1))and least at the alluvial gully(14.41 t ha^(-1)y^(-1)).The proportional loss or export of fine sediment from the gullies in their un-treated condition ranges from∼68 to 90%of what is eroded,and when the gullies are treated the proportion of fine sediment that is retained in the gully proportional to what is eroded increases to∼60%at all *** pre-treatment baseline erosion rates,and additional post treatment LiDAR captures,it is difficult to quantify the treatment *** results offer insights in the erosion mechanisms within different geomorphic gully morphologies and rehabilitation effects in these erosional *** study provides crucial knowledge of gully dynamics that can be coupled with other lines of evidence for better prioritisation of rehabilitation in the GbR catchments.

Probiotics are live microorganisms exerting beneficial effects on the host’s health when administered in adequate *** the most popular and adequately studied probiotics are bacteria from the families Lactobacillaceae,bifidobacteriaceae and *** of them have been shown,both in vitro and in vivo studies of intestinal inflammation models,to provide favorable results by means of improving the gut microbiota composition,promoting the wound healing process and shaping the immunological *** intestinal conditions,such as inflammatory bowel diseases(IbD),are characterized by an imbalance in microbiota composition,with decreased diversity,and by relapsing and persisting inflammation,which may lead to mucosal *** the results of the clinical studies investigating the effect of probiotics on patients with IbD are still controversial,it is without doubt that these microorganisms and their metabolites,now named postbiotics,have a positive influence on both the host’s microbiota and the immune system,and ultimately alter the topical tissue *** influence is achieved through three axes:(1)by dis-placement of potential pathogens via competitive exclusion;(2)by offering protection to the host through the secretion of various defensive mediators;and(3)by supplying the host with essential *** will analyze and discuss almost all the in vitro and in vivo studies of the past 2 years dealing with the possible favorable effects of certain probiotic genus on gut immunological responses,highlighting which species are the most beneficial against intestinal inflammation.
