In the present work,a novel machine learning computational investigation is carried out to accurately predict the solubility of different acids in supercritical carbon *** different machine learning algorithms of radial basis function,multi-layer perceptron(MLP),artificial neural networks(ANN),least squares support vector machine(LSSVM)and adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system(ANFIS)are used to model the solubility of different acids in carbon dioxide based on the temperature,pressure,hydrogen number,carbon number,molecular weight,and the dissociation constant of *** evaluate the proposed models,different graphical and statistical analyses,along with novel sensitivity analysis,are carried *** present study proposes an efficient tool for acid solubility estimation in supercritical carbon dioxide,which can be highly beneficial for engineers and chemists to predict operational conditions in industries.

During the operations of purging and disposal of sediments of a reservoir it is necessary to know the values of turbidity in the river downstream in natural condition,in the absence of dams or river training *** paper shows that under these conditions the ratio of the average values of sediment discharge to the annual maximum value of water discharge is a function of the average annual *** can be considered as representative synthetic index of the climatic conditions,the lithological features and the land cover of the basin,and the geometric characteristics of the river *** proposed relationship of sediment discharge as a function of water discharge were validated on the basis of data collected from different Italian regions that have very different morphological,geo-lithological and rainfall features and that are characterised by a basin area changing between a few dozen and thousands of square *** results can be considered satisfying.

Since the middle of 1990 s autologous stem cell trans-plantation has been the cornerstone for the treatment of young patients with multiple myeloma(MM). In the last decade the introduction of novel agents such as immunomodulatory drugs(IMi Ds) and proteasome inhibitors(PI), has dramatically changed the therapeutic scenario of this yet incurable disease. Due to the impressive results achieved with IMi Ds and PI both in terms of response rates and in terms of progression free and overall survival, and to the toxicity linked to high dose therapy and autologous stem cell transplantation(ASCT), a burning question nowadays is whether all young patients should be offered autotransplanta-tion up front or if this should be reserved for the time of relapse. This article provides a review of the data available regarding ASCT in MM and of the current opinion of the scientific community regarding its optimal timing.

Comparison of a monoclonal antigen stool test (Hp StAr) with the ^(13)C-urea breath test in monitoring Helicobacter pylori eradication therapy

AIM： To evaluate the agreement between a mAb-based stool test （HP STAr） and the urea breath test （UBT） in monitoring （H pylon） infection after eradication therapy. METHODS： Patients with discordant results on UBT and Hp STAr underwent endoscopy with biopsies for rapid urease test, culture, and histology to confirm H pylori status. rESULTS： Among 250 patients （50±14 years）, 240 （96.0%） had concordant UBT and Hp STAr tests with a significant correlation between DOB and A values （r = 0.87; P〈0.0001）. The remaining 10 （4.0%） patients had discordant tests （positive Hp STAr and negative UBT） with the Hp STAr inaccurate in five cases （false positive） and UBT inaccurate in the other five cases （false negative）. The “maximal expected” sensitivity, specificity, ＋PV, -PV, ＋Lr, and -Lr were 91%, 100%, 100%, 97.4%, ∞, and 8.2 respectively, for the UBT, and 100%, 97.4%, 91%, 100%, 38.8, and 0, respectively, for the Hp STAr. Overall accuracy for both tests was 98%. CONCLUSION： Both the UBT and the Hp StAr are equally accurate in monitoring H pylori infection. Nowadays, the choice of the “best” non-invasive H pylori test in the post-treatment setting should be done not only in terms of diagnostic accuracy but also in view of cost and local facilities.

Lack of association between UGT1A7,UGT1A9,ArP,SPINK1 and CFTr gene polymorphisms and pancreatic cancer in Italian patients

AIM： To investigate simultaneously UGT1A7, UGT1A9, ArP, SPINK and CFTr genes to verify whether genetic polymorphisms predispose to the development of pancreatic cancer （PC）.METHODS： Genomic DNA of 61 pancreatic cancer patients and 105 healthy controls （HC） were analyzed. UGT1A7 genotyping was determined by PCr-rFLP analysis. Specific PCr and sequencing were used to analyze genetic variants of UGT1A9, ArP, SPINK1 and CFTr genes.rESULTS： Four different alleles （^＊1：WT; ＂2： N129K and r131K; ＂3： N129K, r131K, and W208r; and ＂4： W208r） in UGT1A7 and three different alleles （^＊1：WT;^＊4： Y242X; and ^＊5： D256N） in UGT1A9 were detected. All UGT1A polymorphisms were observed at similar frequency in PC patients and HC. Seven different alleles in ArP were found in PC patients and HC at similar frequency. The SPINK1 mutations N34S and P55S occurred in five PC patients with a prevalence （4.1%） not significantly different from that observed （2.0%） in HC. The only CFTr AFS08 mutation was recognized in three PC patients with a prevalence （4.9%） similar to HC.CONCLUSION： UGT1A7, UGT1A9, ArP, SPINK1 and CFTr gene polymorphisms are not associated with PC in Italian patients.

Vascular endothelial growth factor and tryptase changes after chemoembolization in hepatocarcinoma patients

AIM: To evaluate vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF) and tryptase in hepatocellular cancer(HCC)before and after trans-arterial chemoembolization(TACE).METHODS: VEGF and tryptase serum concentrations were assessed from 71 unresectable HCC patients before and after hepatic TACE performed by binding DC-Beads?to doxorubicin. VEGF levels were examined for each serum sample using the Quantikine Human VEGF-enzyme-linked immuno-absorbent assay(ELISA),whereas tryptase serum concentrations were assessed for each serum sample by means of fluoro-enzyme immunoassay(FEIA) using the Uni-CAP100 *** between serum VEGF and tryptase values before and after TACE were evaluated using Student t test. Person's correlation was used to assess the degree of association between the two ***: VEGF levels and serum tryptase in HCCpatients before TACE had a mean value and standard deviation(SD) of 114.31 ± 79.58 pg/mL and 8.13± 3.61 μg/L, respectively. The mean levels and SD of VEGF levels and serum tryptase in HCC patients after TACE were 238.14 ± 109.41 pg/mL and 4.02 ±3.03 μg/L. The changes between the mean values of concentration of VEGF and tryptase before treatment and after treatment was statistically significant(P respectively). A significant correlation between VEGF levels before and after TACE and between tryptase levels before and after TACE was demonstrated(r =0.68, P = 0.003; r = 0.84, P = 0.000 respectively).CONCLUSION: Our pilot results suggest that the higher serum VEGF levels and the lower tryptase levels following TACE may be potential biomarkers changing in response to therapy.

Solar flares and coronal mass ejections(CMEs)are thought to be the most powerful events on the *** can release energy as high as~10^(32)erg in tens of minutes,and also can release solar energetic particles(SEPs)into interplanetary *** explore global energy budgets of solar major eruptions that occurred on 2017 September 6,including the energy partition of a powerful solar flare,and the energy budget of the accompanying CME and *** the wavelength range shortward of~222 nm,a major contribution of the flare radiated energy is in the soft X-ray(SXr)0.1-7 nm *** flare energy radiated at wavelengths of Lyαand mid-ultraviolet is larger than that radiated in the extreme ultraviolet wavelengths,but it is much less than that radiated in the Sxr *** total flare radiated energy could be comparable to the thermal and nonthermal *** energies carried by the major flare and its accompanying CME are roughly equal,and they are both powered by the magnetic free energy in the NOAA Ar ***,the CME is efficient in accelerating SEPs,and the prompt component(whether it comes from the solar flare or the CME)contributes only a negligible fraction.

Nowadays,inflammatory bowel disease(IBD)-patient therapies are mainly based on corticosteroid,thiopurine,and immunomodulator *** with active disease,that do not respond to corticosteroid and/or thiopurine treatment,can switch to the usage of the chimeric monoclonal antibody infliximab(IFX).However,to date,no treatment appeared to be conclusive in lowering the incidence of IBD *** the aim to increase the effectiveness of IFX treatment,we combined it with an adjuvant purple corn supplementation enriched in ***-patients were enrolled before they underwent to the IFX-infusion,and they were allocated in 2 different study *** in the intervention-arm followed a dietary supplementation with purple corn water-soluble extract,whereas control patients had a daily consumption of red fruit tea.16S rDNA gene-sequencing and high-resolution mass-spectrometry metabo-lipidomics analyses were conducted on stool and sera samples,*** a result,the experimental intervention mainly affected the serum metabolome of IBD-patients by decreasing the concentration of specific *** on IBD patient annotated taxa,a significant decrease in Lactobacillus and Bifi dobacterium relative abundances was *** far as it concerns the ulcerative colitis patient subset,the experimental intervention led to a decrease in Alistipes and Erysipelotrichaceae UCG-003 genus abundances and a concomitant Parabacteroides *** the contrary,after treatment,Crohn’s disease patients did not exhibit metataxonomics differences at the genus *** the end of the treatment that led to a reshaped microbiota community,the gathered data paves the way for the usage of a specifically designed probiotic supplementation as a valuable strategy for IBD-patients under IFX infusion.
