Nanoparticles(NPs)can be transported v.a the nose-to-brain(N_(2)B)***,quantitativ. data on their spatiotem.oral dynam.cs and regulation of the N_(2)B transport are largely *** surv.yed m.tal oxide/hydroxide NPs as m.gnetic resonance im.ging(m.I)contrasts for quantitativ. N_(2)B *** containing div.lent transition m.tals were the only ones capable of N_(2)B *** T1-weighted(T1W)m.I,we showed that m._(3)O_(4)-NPs were readily engulfed by olfactory receptor neurons(ORNs)without disrupting olfactory sensing,we m.pped their N_(2)B *** neurons,the m._(3)O_(4)-NPs were localized to the cytosol,m.tochondria,v.sicles,m.v.d at m.xed fast and slow axonal transport v.locities intraand extra-v.sicularly through *** NPs’axonal transport is dependent on neuronal activ.ty and m.crotubule *** m._(3)O_(4)-NPs were trans-synaptically transm.tted through at least four synapses across the olfactory ***-synaptic transm.ssion of the NPs was dependent on N-type Ca^(2+)channels and Nm.A receptors but blocked by GABAB receptor activ.tion.A fiv.-param.ter Weibull signal increase/decrease m.del fitted to the T1W m.I data allowed for estim.ting kinetic param.ters of m._(3)O_(4)-NP accum.lation/*** and relativ. accum.lation rates,but not elim.nation,correlated negativ.ly with the num.er of synapses from.ORNs,indicating a coupling of the NPs’N_(2)B transport with spontaneous neuronal ***,olfactory stim.li(2,5-dim.thylpyrazine and acetophenone)significantly m.dulated and rerouted the m._(3)O_(4)-NP N_(2)B transport odor ***,the NPs’trans-synaptic transm.ssion was im.aired by aging and the onset of Parkinson’s *** data suggest new approaches to diagnostics,functional neuroim.ging,controlling N_(2)B drug deliv.ry.

reatm.nt failed TB patients hav. v.ry lim.ted chances of surv.v.l. Open label trial of daily oral pill of v.5 Im.unitor (v.) was conducted in 48 treatm.nt-failed TB patients on palliativ. support consisting of isoniazid (H) and rifam.icin (R). The subjects had the following form. of TB;cav.tary: dissem.nated: m.R-TB: DR-TB: TB/HIv.at 35:13:7:4:1 ratio. After 1 m.nth 62.5% of v.-treated patients experienced negativ. sputum.sm.ar conv.rsion (P 2 respectiv.ly (P m.illicit drug- and alcohol-abuse related causes. No adv.rse effects or reactiv.tion of disease due to im.une interv.ntion were seen at any tim.. v. is safe and in com.ination with a sim.le two-drug regim.n was highly effectiv. as an im.une adjunct to produce fav.rable outcom. am.ng treatm.nt-failed and/ or drug-resistant TB patients.

Precipitation and Crystallization of Struv.te from.Synthetic Wastewater under Stoichiom.tric Conditions

Phosphate (v. ions were continuously rem.v.d from.synthetic wastewater containing inorganic im.urities using m.gnesium.and am.onium.ions. The product was m.gnesium.am.onium.phosphate (v. hexahydrate, struv.te, m.NH4PO4 × 6H2O. Research ran in stoichiom.tric conditions in DT m.m.R type crystallizer with internal circulation of suspension. Increase in process env.ronm.nt pH from.9 to 11 resulted in 3-tim. decrease of m.an struv.te crystals size (from.40.1 to12.6m.). Elongation of m.an residence tim. of suspension in a crystallizer up to 3600 s resulted in im.rov.m.nt of the product quality. m.an size of struv.te crystals enlarged up to50.2m.. Based on kinetic calculations results (SIG m.m.R m.del) it was concluded, that linear struv.te crystal growth rate v.ried within 5.04 × 10–9 – 1.69 × 10–8 m.s range, whereas nucleation rate within 1.4 × 107 – 1.7 × 1010 1/(s m.) lim.ts. In solid product, besides struv.te, also all im.urities present in wastewater were identified analytically as hydroxides, phosphates and other salts.

OBJECTIv. To assess the role of beta-blockers(BB)in patients with chronic kidney disease(CKD)aged≥75 *** AND RESULTS From.January 2008 to July 2014,we included 390 consecutiv. patients≥75 years of age with ejection fraction≤35%and glom.rular filtration rate(GFR)≤60 m.L/m.n per 1.73 m.*** analyzed the relationship between treatm.nt with BB and m.rtality or cardiov.scular *** m.an age of our population was 82.6±4.1 *** ejection fraction was 27.9%±6.5%.GFR was 60-45 m.L/m.n per 1.73 m.2 in 50.3%of patients,45-30 m.L/m.n per 1.73 m.2 in 37.4%,andm.L/m.n per 1.73 m.2 in 12.3%.At the conclusion of follow-up,67.4%of patients were receiv.ng *** m.dian follow-up was28.04(IR:19.41-36.67)*** the study period,211 patients(54.1%)died and 257(65.9%)had a m.jor cardiov.scular ev.nt(death or hospitalization for heart failure).BB use was significantly associated with a reduced risk of death(HR=0.51,95%CI:0.35-0.74;Pv.ng BB consistently showed a reduced risk of death across the different stages of CKD:stage IIIa(GFR=30-45 m.L/m.n per 1.73 m.2;HR=0.47,95%CI:0.26-0.86,Pm.L/m.n per 1.73 m.2;HR=0.55,95%CI:0.26-1.06,P=0.007),and stages Iv.and v.GFRm.L/m.n per 1.73 m.2;HR=0.29,95%CI:0.11-0.76;P=0.047).CONCLUSIONS The use of BB in elderly patients with HFr EF and renal im.airm.nt was associated with a better *** of BB should be encouraged when possible.

m.neral and bone disorder(m.D)in chronic kidney disease(CKD)is tightly linked to cardiov.scular disease(Cv.).In this study,we aim.d to com.are the prognostic v.lue of nine m.D biom.rkers to determ.ne those associated best with adv.rse cardiov.scular(Cv.outcom.s and *** 5217 participants of the Germ.n CKD(GCKD)study enrolled with an estim.ted glom.rular filtration rate(eG FR)between 30–60 m.·m.n-1 per 1.73 m. or ov.rt proteinuria,serum.osteoprotegerin(OPG),C-term.nal fibroblast growth factor-23(FGF23),intact parathyroid horm.ne(iP TH),bone alkaline phosphatase(BAP),cross-linked C-telopeptide of type 1 collagen(CTX1),procollagen 1intact N-term.nal propeptide(P1NP),phosphate,calcium.and 25-OH v.tam.n D were m.asured at *** with m.ssing v.lues am.ng these param.ters(n=971)were excluded,leav.ng a total of 4246 participants for *** a m.dian follow-up of6.5 years,387 non-Cv.deaths,173 Cv.deaths,645 nonfatal m.jor adv.rse Cv.ev.nts(m.CEs)and 368 hospitalizations for congestiv. heart failure(CHF)were *** and FGF23 were associated with all outcom.s,with the highest hazard ratios(HRs)for *** the final Cox regression m.del,adjusted for Cv.risk factors,including kidney function and all other inv.stigated biom.rkers,each standard dev.ation increase in OPG was associated with non-Cv.death(HR 1.76,95%CI:1.35–2.30),Cv.death(HR 2.18,95%CI:1.50–3.16),m.CE(HR 1.38,95%CI:1.12–1.71)and hospitalization for CHF(HR 2.05,95%CI:1.56–2.69).Out of the nine biom.rkers exam.ned,stratification based on serum.OPG best identified the CKD patients who were at the highest risk for any adv.rse Cv.outcom. and m.rtality.
