The.cytotoxicity and non-spe.ific ce.lular uptake.of the.most popular composition of upconve.sion nanoparticle.（UCNP）, NaYF4：Yb^3＋：e.^3＋, is re.orte. using normal human skin ce.ls, including de.mal fibroblasts and immortalize. human e.ide.mal line.r ke.atinocyte. （HaCaT）. A ne. hydrophilization re.ction of as-synthe.ize. UCNPs base. on te.rame.hylammonium hydroxide.（TMAH） e.able. e.aluation of the.intrinsic cytotoxicity of bare.UCNPs. The.cytotoxicity e.fe.ts of the.UCNP surface.coating and polystyre.e.host we.e.inve.tigate. ove. the.conce.tration range.62.5-125 μg/mL with 24-h incubation, using a MTT te.t and optical microscopy. The.fibroblast viability was not compromise. by UCNPs, whe.e.s the.viability of ke.atinocyte. varie. from 52% ± 4% to 100% ± 10% than the.control group, de.e.ding on the.surface.modification. Bare.UCNPs re.uce. the.ke.atinocyte.viability to 76% ± 3%, while.e.hibiting profound non-spe.ific ce.lular uptake. Hydrophilic poly（D,L-lactide.- and poly（male.c anhydride.alt-l-octade.e.e.-coate. UCNPs we.e.found to be.le.st cytotoxic among the.polyme.-coate. UCNPs, and we.e.re.dily inte.nalize. by human skin ce.ls. Polystyre.e.microbe.ds impre.nate. with UCNPs re.aine. nontoxic. Surprisingly, no corre.ation was found be.we.n UCNP cytotoxicity and the.inte.nalization le.e. in ce.ls, although the.latte. range. broadly from 0.03% to 59%, be.chmarke. against 100% uptake.le.e. of TMAH-UCNPs.

Background: Solitary fibrous tumors of the.ple.ra (SFTP) are.rare.ne.plasms with unpre.ictable.be.avior. Additionally, the.role.of trans-thoracic ne.dle.biopsy in initial manage.e.t of SFTP is uncle.r.
