The goal of this paper was to present knowledge on changes in the morphodynamic structure of the Ochotnica River(Polish Carpathians)and transformations within its active river zone since the end of the 19th *** study used a set of archival and contemporary cartographic materials and the results of three-fold field mapping of the morphodynamic structure of the *** and indirect human interference with the natural environment of the catchment and the fluvial system was taken into account in the *** of changes in the morphodynamic structure of the Ochotnica and its active river zone since the end of the 19th century indicated significant changes in the development trend of the *** contemporary structure of the Ochotnica is more complex than in the *** has been a fragmentation of the riverbed into sections with different morphodynamic *** proportion of erosive sections has increased,which explains the reduced in the width of the active river zone of the *** average width of the active river zone of the river between 1861 and 2022 has changed from 80 m to 18 *** impact has been identified as the main reason for the changes in the morphodynamic structure of the riverbed and its active river ***,only the unregulated sect ion is characterised by free lateral migration of the riverbed and the widest active river zone(~28 m).

Approximately 40% of UsA coal originates in an ecologically sensitive area of semi-arid shortgrass prairie in Wyoming. Before a surface coal mine can begin operation in the UsA, it must secure a mining permit and comply with regulations and performance standards under the UsA surface Mining Control and Reclamation Act （sMCRA）, other federal environmental acts, and state programs. The Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality （WDEQ）/Land Quality Division （LQD） administers Wyoming＇s coal regulatory program. The permit application and bonding process for the largest surface coal mine permit in the UsA, North Antelope Rochelle Mine （NARM） located in short grassland prairie in the northeast Wyoming, is discussed. The permit application process begins with the collection of baseline environ- mental data that characterizes premining conditions of the permit area. The permit application includes adjudication information, baseline information, mine and operation plans, and reclamation plans. Fulfillment of permit commitments and requirements of rules and regulations are inspected monthly by the LQD＇ s representative in the field. Before a mine permit is issued, the mine operator must submit a reclamation bond to secure the performance of reclamation obligations that is later revised annually. In Wyoming, four reclamation bond release phases indicate the completion of various stages of the reclamatikon process. NARM＇s specific bond release verification cirteria, performance standards, and field verificatoins of bond release phases are discussed. The Bond Release Geodatabase （a GIs/GPs approach） was developed for this mine to monitor progress in meeting criteria and performance standards for incremental bond release. The Bond Release Geodatabase significantly reduces the time needed to track bond release progress, reach agreement between operator and regulator, and improve the state inspector＇s ability to assess reclamation adequacy and progress.

By changing both the monomer composition and the polymer structure, we have varied the mechanical properties of resorbable polymers. The polymers were synthesized by ring-opening polymerization using L-lactide （LLA）, ε-caprolactone （εCL）, trimethylene carbonate （TMC） and 1,5-dioxepan-2-one （DXO） as monomers. Well-defined triblock copolymers, microblock copolymers and networks have been evaluated, and comparisons between them show that it is possible to tune the mechanical properties. Triblock copolymers with an amorphous middle block of poly（1,5-dioxepan-2- one）（PDXO） and semi-crystalline end-blocks of poly（ε-caprolactone）（PCL） were stronger and had a higher strain at break than triblock copolymers with poly（L-lactide）（PLLA） as end-blocks. Polymers with both DXO and TMC in the amorphous middle-block and PLLA as end-blocks showed a lower stress at break, but the material gained elasticity, a property which is very valuable in tissue engineering. Mechanical properties of networks, synthesized by a novel method, containing PDXO and PCL are also presented. Although it is difficult to compare them with the uncross-linked polymers, this is an additional way to modify and widen the properties.

serum testosterone does not correlate with androgen tissue activity, and it is critical to optimize tools to evaluate such activity in males. Ultrasound measurement of bulbocavernosus muscle （BCM） was used to assess the relationship between the number of CAG repeats （CAGn） in the androgen receptor （AR） and the BCM size; the changes in the number of CAGn over age were also evaluated. Transperineal ultrasound measurement of the BCM was also performed. AR CAGn were determined by high performance liquid chromatography, and morning hormone levels were determined using immunoassays. Forty-eight men had CAG repeat analysis. Twenty-five were 〈30 years of age, mean 23.7 years （s.d, = 3.24） and 23 were 〉45 years of age, mean 53years （s.d. = 5.58）. The median CAGn was 21 （13-29）. BCM area was greater when the number of CAGn were 〈18 as compared to the number of CAGn 〉24 （P= 0.04）. There was a linear correlation between the number of CAGn and the BCM area R^2= 16% （P= 0.01）. In the 45 to 65-years-old group, a much stronger negative correlation （R^2 = 29%, P= 0.01） was noticed. In the 19 to 29-years-old group, no such correlation was found （R2 = 4%, P = 0.36）. In older men, the number of CAGn increased with age （R^2 = 32%, P= 0.01）. The number of CAGn in the AR correlates with the area of the BCM. Ultrasound assessment of the BCM is an effective surrogate to evaluate end-organ activity of androgens. The number of CAGn may increase with age.

The pulsed corona discharge(CD)generated in contact with water and directly in water,and high-power air plasma jet(APJ)were studied for production of plasma activated water(PAW).The changes of physical(pH,redox potential,conductivity,temperature)and chemical(peroxides,nitrites,nitrates concentrations)properties of treated water were *** comparison of CD generated in gas/water interface and underwater configuration in the same system showed that the interaction of reactive oxygen and nitrogen species formed in ambient air in gas/water system induces different chemical processes,leading to lower pH,higher oxidation-reduction potential(ORP)and higher conductivity of PAW than in underwater *** yield of peroxide was observed in both *** PAW prepared by APJ exhibits high concentration of nitrites and nitrates according to supplied energy,and related significant decrease of pH and increase of ORP and conductivity after *** antimicrobial effect of PAW prepared by CD and plasma jet on lentils sprouts was studied in different treatment and washing *** APJ appears to have great efficacy on water activation resulted in strong decontamination *** PAW treated by APJ for 10 min led to bacterial reduction from initial 8.3 to 5.9 and 4.0 log10 CFU g^(-1)after 10 and 30 min of washing,respectively.

The urea cycle is the final pathway for nitrogen metabolism. Urea cycle disorders(UCDs) include a variety of genetic defects, which lead to inefficient urea synthesis. Elevated blood ammonium level is usually dominant in the clinical pattern and the primary manifestations affect the central nervous system. Herein, we report the case of a 17-year-old girl who was diagnosed with UCD at the age of 3. Despite a controlled diet, she was hospitalized several times for acute attacks with recurrent life risk. she came to our attention for a hyperammonemic episode. We proposed an orthotopic liver transplant(OLT) as a treatment; the patient and her family were in complete agreement. On February 28, 2007, she successfully received a transplant. Following the surgery, she has remained well, and she is currently leading a normal life. Usually for UCDs diet plays the primary therapeutic role, while OLT is often considered as a last resort. Our case report and the recent literature data on the quality of life and prognosis of traditionally treated patients vs OLT patients, support OLT as a primary intervention to prevent life-threatening acute episodes and chronic mental impairment.
