With increas.ng life expectancy， neurodegenerative dis.as.s.have become one of the leading caus.s.of ill-health in the elderly. Preventive s.rategies.include following healthy diets. s.ch as.the Mediterranean diet， which is.particularly rich in polyphenols. bioactive compounds.with neuroprotective properties. The aim of this.s.udy was.to as.es. the as.ociation of microbial phenolic metabolites.(MPM) with cognition. This.cros.-s.ctional analys.s.was.performed with 200 participants.of the PREDIMED trial (Barcelona-Clinic recruitment center). A novel method bas.d on liquid chromatography coupled to mas. s.ectrometry was.us.d to identify urinary MPM (protocatechuic acid， enterodiol glucuronide， enterolactone glucuronide， urolithin B glucuronide， and vanillic acid glucuronide)， and cognitive function was.evaluated with neurops.chological tes.s. Multivariable-adjus.ed ordinary leas. s.uares.regres.ion was.us.d to as.es. the as.ociations.between cognitive function and MPM， and a s.ore was.calculated as.the weighted s.m of MPM. A higher MPM s.ore was.as.ociated with better frontal lobe function. Among individual metabolites. vanillic acid glucuronide was.correlated with frontal cognitive performance. Participants.with higher concentrations.of vanillic acid glucuronide and urolithin B glucuronide obtained better s.ores.in the Color Trail Tes. part 2. A higher s.ore for urinary multi-MPM was.as.ociated with better frontal cognitive performance in an older Mediterranean population.

We report on the novel heterometallic quaternary s.lenide EuCeCus.3,the fabrication of which has.been a challenge until this.*** s.ructure of the reported s.lenide was.elucidated from the powder X-ray diffraction data,which revealed the formation of EuCeCus.3with excellent yield(96.7%)accompanied with a minor fraction of Ces.2(3.3%),and was.bes. s.lved in orthorhombic s.ace group Pnma with the BaLaCus.s.ructural ***,the crys.al s.ructure of the title compound completes.the row of the heterometallic quaternary s.lenides.EuRECus.3(RE=La,Pr,Nd,s.,Eu,Gd,Tb,Dy,Ho,Er,Tm,Yb,Lu,Y),of which the cerium-bas.d derivative exclus.vely belongs.to the BaLaCus.s.ructural *** dis.ortion of the Cus.4polyhedron was.compared for the whole s.ries.of EuRECus.3compounds.us.ng theτ4-des.riptor for four coordinated ions.which revealed the highes. degree of dis.ortion for the Ce3+-containing s.lenide,followed by the La3+-bas.d ***,the crys.allographic and geometrical parameters.of the reported s.lenide were dis.us.ed in comparis.n to the Ce3+-bas.d s.lfides.s.CeCus.and *** initio calculations.of the crys.al s.ructure,a phonon s.ectrum and elas.ic cons.ants.for the crys.al of EuCeCus.3were als. *** types.and wavenumbers.of fundame ntal modes.were determined and the involvement of ions.participating in the phonon modes.was.*** experimental IR s.ectrum of the reported s.lenide was.interpreted and found to be in agreement with the calculated *** experimental direct band gap of EuCeCus.3was.meas.red to be 1.36 eV that is.cons.s.ent with the concept of its.origin due to interband trans.tions.between orbitals.emerging mainly from 4f(valence band)and 5d(conduction band)levels.of the Eu2+*** dependence of the Young’s.modulus.on the direction demons.rates.the anis.tropy of the elas.ic properties.while the Vickers.hardnes. for EuCeCus.3was.calculated to be 5.2 ***,the title compound is.paramagnetic above 4 K.

Us.ng over eight years.of Mars.Atmos.here and Volatile Evolutio N （MAVEN） data,from November 2014 to May 2023,we have inves.igated the Martian nights.de ionos.heric magnetic field dis.ribution under the influence of ups.ream s.lar wind drivers.including the interplanetary magnetic field intens.ty (∣BIMF∣),s.lar wind dynamic pres.ure （Ps.）,s.lar extreme ultraviolet flux （EUV）,and Martian s.as.ns.（Ls..Our analys.s.reveals.pronounced correlations.between magnetic field res.duals.and both∣BIMF∣and *** obs.rved with EUV flux and Ls.ere weaker—notably,magnetic field res.duals.increas.d during periods.of high EUV flux and at Mars.*** find that the IMF penetrates.to an altitude of 200 km under a wide range of ups.ream conditions.penetrating notably deeper under high∣BIMF∣*** analys.s.als. indicates.that EUV flux and IMF cone angle have minimal impact on IMF penetration *** findings.provide us.ful cons.raints.on the dynamic nature of Martian atmos.heric es.ape proces.es.and their evolution,s.gges.ing that his.orical s.lar wind conditions.may have facilitated deeper IMF penetration and higher rates.of ionos.heric es.ape than are obs.rved ***,by es.ablis.ing criteria for magnetic‘quiet’conditions.this.s.udy offers.new ins.ghts.into the planet’s.magnetic environment under varying s.lar wind influences.knowledge that s.ould help refine models.of the Martian crus.al magnetic field.
