A multiplicative Gauss-Newton minimization algorithm:Theory and application to exponential functions

Multiplicative calculus(MUC)measures the rate of change of function in terms of ratios,which makes the exponential functions significantly linear in the framework of ***,a generally non-linear optimization problem containing exponential functions becomes a linear problem in *** this as motivation,this paper lays mathematical foundation of well-known classical Gauss-Newton minimization(CGNM)algorithm in the framework of *** paper formulates the mathematical derivation of proposed method named as multiplicative Gauss-Newton minimization(MGNM)method along with its convergence *** proposed method is generalized for n number of variables,and all its theoretical concepts are authenticated by simulation *** case studies have been conducted incorporating multiplicatively-linear and non-linear exponential *** simulation results,it has been observed that proposed MGNM method converges for 12972 points,out of 19600 points considered while optimizing multiplicatively-linear exponential function,whereas CGNM and multiplicative Newton minimization methods converge for only 2111 and 9922 points,***,for a given set of initial value,the proposed MGNM converges only after 2 iterations as compared to 5 iterations taken by other methods.A similar pattern is observed for multiplicatively-non-linear exponential ***,it can be said that proposed method converges faster and for large range of initial values as compared to conventional methods.

An epidemiological study on tbe road traffic accidents from hills of north India

Road traffic injuries are increasingly being reported as an important cause of morbidity and disability *** epidemio-logic factors related to road traffic crash cases were examined to identify potential targets for future preventative *** hospital-based descriptive study collected relevant information by use of a predesigned and pretested questionnaire given to total of 401 consecutive individuals that received nonfatal injuries from road traffic crashes who reported to the Indira Gandhi Medical College Hospital in Shimla,India between June 2005 to May *** percentage of cases corresponding to preselected catego-ries were compared using chi-square analyzes to determine statistical significance.A majority of the injured victims included in this study were between 20-49 years of age,with a male to female ratio of 5.3:*** largest numbers of victims were employees and occupants of transport *** error was the most reported cause of crash,and the most common mode of crash was skid-ding and/or rolling *** highest proportion of crashes occurred on curved *** most at-risk population in Shimla,India for receiving nonfatal traffic-related injuries is males between 20 and 49 years of age who utilize transport *** the majority of nonfatal injuries occur in passengers of light transport vehicles(LMVs)in accidents at road curves,road safety strategies should target these locations and the drivers of these vehicles in order to most effectively protect their occupants.
