Worldwide,flexible pavements are the paramount type of *** national assets can be recycled to serve the next design life without the need to dispose of them in *** old/distressed,flexible pavement material is called,reclaimed asphalt pavement(RAP)*** view of the sustainable development practice,100%RAP should be ***,the practical range of RAP incorporation in a drum mix plant ranges from 10%to 50%whereas in a batch mix plant,it is 10%-35%.In a batch mix plant,incorporation of the hot dried RAP(instead of cold RAP feeding)can increase the RAP incorporation level by 20%.Studies recommended that the rejuvenator should be added over the RAP material instead adding with the base *** addition of rejuvenator on the RAP conveyor belt(to the pug mill),provided sufficient time for rejuvenating the aged binder coating over RAP ***,a thorough knowledge of the mix design process of recycled hot mix asphalt(RAP-HMA)is essential to produce a durable *** high RAP content(>20%),the RAP binder properties are important for the mix design ***,very limited studies discussed(in detail)the recovery process of the RAP *** review article through light on the binder recovery process,method of RAP gradation,specific gravity determination for RAP material,minimum desirable properties of the RAP material *** review paper also provides a narrative review of the historical development of RAP-HMA technology,technical aspects related to the procurement of RAP material,mix design and production of the recycled ***,the international&national policies/laws for construction and demolition waste are discussed.

The focus of this paper is to investigate the use of improved reinforcement learning（IRL） in feedback control to improve the closed-loop performance of nonlinear *** classical nonlinear cargo ship steering control has been employed to test the performance of *** Markov decision processes（MDP） based reinforcement learning suffers from trade-off between exploration versus exploitation and discretization for continuous *** address these issues of discretization and exploration,nonlinear adaptive discretization is proposed to obtain more states near the desired state and less spacing states as we move away from the desired *** technique provides better control near the desired state which is essential to prevent overshoot and achieve good tracking performance while keeping total states bare *** solves the problem of exploration partly,but also creates control issues around less density *** such states IRL leverages cubic spline interpolation in conjunction with K-means clustering to find smoother control *** the end of IRL the experience function has been added to reduce the search space for similar *** experience function reduces the upper and lower bounds of states in consecutive runs if desired states could be reached within new limit *** results show excellent performance of IRL based controller for ship steering control,noise tolerance and disturbance rejection.

Bacterial Surface Layer Proteins: From Moonlighting to Biomimetics: A New Horizonto Lead

The landmark discovery of moonlighting proteins embarks the significant progress in understanding the biological complexity and their closed-circuit analysis. The growing continuum in the variety of moonlighting functions paved the way for further elucidation of structural-functional aspects of protein evolution and design of proteins with novel functions. Currently, the moonlighting functions in various adhesive properties of surface layer proteins, an essential component of cell surface architecture of archaea and all phylogenetic groups of eubacteria become more prominently recognized. The remarkable credentials of surface layer proteins to self-assemble into supramolecular structures at nano-scale dimension have been exploited for the production of smart biomaterials in the form of biomimetics has been thrust area of research. The finely tuned topological features in terms of shape, size, geometry and surface chemistry of surface layer proteins are crucial for the production of biomimetics. The current developments of biomimetic lipid bilayers and composite membranes find applicability in understanding the functional dynamism of evolutionary relationship of bacterial cell envelopes and vaccine development, drug development and drug delivery. Though the development of biomimetics embraces fascination but faces with technological challenges. The plethora of literature has been available for the moonlighting aspects and nano-technological applications separately but none of the review describes towards the rhythmic transition from moonlighting functions of surface layer proteins of bacteria to biomimetics development and applications. Epidemiology of Maxillofacial Trauma in Pediatric and Adolescent Population: An Institutional Experience of 6 Years

Introduction: Facial fractures are uncommon injuries in children. Pediatric maxillofacial fractures constitute 1% to 15% of all facial fractures, but show different clinical features when compared with adult patients. Worldwide, the major causes of fractures in children are accidents, falls, violence, and sports- related accidents. Facial trauma in children may result in injury to the facial growth centers, leading to subsequent developmental abnormalities in the injured area. Patients & Methods: Data of pediatric and adolescent patients (0 - 17 years), with a history of trauma, has been compiled over a period of 6 years. History, clinical and radiographic data records were analyzed. Compilation was done in the following categories;age and sex distribution, etiology, site of trauma and associated soft tissue injuries were recorded. The treatment rendered has also been mentioned. Results: A total of 340 patient records were assessed. Demographic data, etiology, type of fracture, associated injury and treatment rendered were recorded. It was found that males (54.7%) were more frequently affected than females (45.3%). Incidence of trauma was more in children belonging to the pre-school age group (38.5%) and the most common etiology was sports-related injuries (43.8%). Dentoalveolar fractures were the most common type (58.5%) of fractures seen in the patients. Most of the patients were managed by conservative treatment (35%) or closed reduction (48%), while a few required open reduction (7.9%). Conclusion: It is felt that this data will be useful in determining the pattern and etiology of maxillofacial trauma in pediatric patients in an Indian setting. Additionally, an outline of the treatment plan in different types of fractures is also summarized.

Experimental study on mitigating wind erosion of calcareous desert sand using spray method for microbially induced calcium carbonate precipitation

Wind erosion is one of the significant natural calamities worldwide, which degrades around one-third of global land. The eroded and suspended soil particles in the environment may cause health hazards, *** and respiratory diseases, due to the presence of harmful contaminants, bacteria, and *** present study evaluates the feasibility of microbially induced calcium carbonate precipitation(MICP)technique to mitigate wind-induced erosion of calcareous desert sand(Thar desert of Rajasthan province in India). The temperature during biotreatment was kept at 36℃ to stimulate the average temperature of the Thar desert. The spray method was used for bioaugmentation of Sporosarcina(S.) pasteurii and further treatment using chemical solutions. The chemical solution of 0.25 pore volume was sprayed continuously up to 5 d, 10 d, 15 d, and 20 d, using two different concentration ratios of urea and calcium chloride dihydrate viz 2:1 and 1:1. The biotreated samples were subjected to erosion testing(in the wind tunnel) at different wind speeds of 10 m/s, 20 m/s, and 30 m/s. The unconfined compressive strength of the biocemented crust was measured using a pocket penetrometer. The variation in calcite precipitation and microstructure(including the presence of crystalline minerals) of untreated as well as biotreated sand samples were determined through calcimeter, scanning electron microscope(SEM), and energydispersive X-ray spectroscope(EDX). The results demonstrated that the erosion of untreated sand increases with an increase in wind speeds. When compared to untreated sand, a lower erosion was observed in all biocemented sand samples, irrespective of treatment condition and wind speed. It was observed that the sample treated with 1:1 cementation solution for up to 5 d, was found to effectively resist erosion at a wind speed of 10 m/s. Moreover, a significant erosion resistance was ascertained in15 d and 20 d treated samples at higher wind speeds. The calcite content

Impact of liver disease severity on outcomes of patients undergoing endourological procedures for urolithiasis

Risk factors of type 2 diabetes in population of Jammu and Kashmir, India

We sought to identify risk factors for type 2 diabetes （T2D） in Jammu and Kashmir populations, India. A total of 424 diabetic and 226 non-diabetic subjects from Jammu, and 161 diabetic and 100 non-diabetic subjects from Kashmir were screened for various parameters including fasting blood glucose level, 2 hour glucose level, urea, creatinine, triglycerides, total cholesterol, high-density lipoprotein cholesterol （HDL-C）, low-density lipoprotein cholesterol （LDL-C）, very low-density lipoprotein （VLDL-C）, uric acid, systolic and diastolic blood pressure lev- el. We found that subjects aged 40-49 years had the highest rate of diabetes, with family income playing not much of a role. Kashmiri migrants or populations with rapid cultural, environmental, social or lifestyle change along with reduced physical activity, obesity and unhealthy lifestyle （smoking and alcohol consumption） were found to have higher rates of diabetes. High blood glucose, triglycerides and low HDL-C levels were found to be con- tributing to disease outcome. High blood pressure also contributed to a higher risk of developing T2D. Our study supports earlier reports confirming the contribution of comfortable life style, Western dietary habits and rapid life style change along with many other factors to the prevalence of diabetes. This may contribute to the epidemic proportion of diabetes in Jammu and Kashmir. Early diagnosis and routine screening for undiagnosed diabetes in obese subjects and subjects with parental diabetes history is expected to decrease the burden of chronic diabetic complications worldwide.
