Shrinkage, Strength of High and Ordinary Concrete Incorporating Kosovo and Japanese Fly-ash

Ordinary and high performance concrete （OC-C 25/30 and HPC C-50/60） made with fly ash has found numerous applications all over the world since 1970. In Kosovo, fly ash as cement substitution in concrete has not been utilized yet despite the large amount that is produced annually and the positive economical-environment aspects of such technique. This hesitance is due to the laek of experience in the concrete engineering field and because of the chemical composition of Kosovo fly ash, which is classified as non-standard high calcium fly ash （KF）. In light of this fact, this study intended to develop further. So, this paper reports the consistency, workability, shrinkage, high and ordinary compressive strength of concrete containing different percentage of non-class high calcium fly ash as Portland cement substitution （first case-Kosovo fly ash KF） comparing results with F class-low caleium fly ash content （second ease-Japanese fly ash JF） which is common used as cement replacement.

Health Impact Assessment of Air Pollution in Some Regions in Albania

Air is the ocean we breathe. Air supplies us with oxygen which is essential for our bodies to live. 99.9% air is nitrogen, oxygen, water vapor and inert gases. Human activities can release substances into the air, some of which can cause problems for humans, plants and animals. There are several main types of pollution and well-known effects of pollution which are commonly discussed. These include smog, acid rain, the greenhouse effect, and ＂holes＂ in the ozone layer. Each of these problems has serious implications for our health and well-being as well as for the whole environment. The age and health condition are more important also at the response opposite the pollution of air. During the last decade in our country such as result of freely population movement, development and growth of their industrial activities, growth of vehicle number, collapse of roadway infrastructure etc., an increase of air quality pollution is evident. In this study, we exhibited the causers, such as increasing of number of the old cars, which is an important factor of the air pollution and, at the same time, we exhibited the pollution indicators of the air quality, such as PM I 0, total dust, dust levels outdoors and indoors, which are in the high levels. These factors indicated on human health. We have observed the health indicators, especially lung diseases such as bronchial asthma with higher percentage, chronic bronchitis and lung cancer. There was consistency in the finding that relates the acute increases in urban air pollution and the short-term health effects or patients suffering from chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases.

The Importance of Design Spectra and Site Class for the Design of High-Rise Buildings

On November 26,2019 a strong earthquake of magnitude M6.4 occurred close to the City of Durrës,Albania(15.6 km WSW(west southwest)of Mamurras and 22 km SSW(south southwest)of Durrës),causing fatalities and considerable damages in many *** this article we present and analyze,by means of observational data and numerical simulation,the behavior under this earthquake of an 8-floor RC(reinforcement concrete)building,by using design spectra referring to KTP-N.2-89 and Eurocode *** main purpose of the authors is to better understand and evaluate the seismic performance of high-rise buildings under the design spectra with a period of soil oscillation close to the fundamental period of the structure.
