This paper explores the power of stock trading trend using an integrated New ThresholdFuzzy Cognitive Maps(NTFCMs)Markov chain *** new model captures thepositive as well as the negative jumps and predicts the trend for different stocks over 4months which follow an uptrend,downtrend and a mixed *** mean absolute percent error(MAPE)tolerance limits,the root mean square error(RMSE)tolerance limits aredetermined for various stock indices over a multi-timeframe period and observed for theexisting methods lying within the defined *** results show for every‘n’number ofpredictions made,the predicted close value of the day’s stock price was within tolerancelimit with 0%error and with 100%accuracy in predicting the future trend.

High resolution optical endoscopes are increasingly used in diagnosis of various medical condi-tions of internal organs,such as the cervix and gastrointestinal(GI)tracts,but they are too expensive for use in resource poor *** the other hand,smartphones with high resolution cameras and Internet access have become more affordable,enabling them to difuse into most rural areas and developing countries in the past *** this paper,we describe a smartphone microendoscope that can take fuorescence images with a spatial resolution of 3.1 *** collected from ex vivo,in vnitro and in vivo samples using the device are also *** compact and cost-effective smart phone microendosoope may be envisaged as a powerful tool for detecting pre cancerous lesions of internal organs in low and middle income countries(LMICs).

Powder compacted and sintered Nb205 pellets were cathodically polarised against graphite anode in calcium chloride melt at 1173 K to study the influence of various factors on the electrochemical reduction of the oxide. The parameters were; duration and temperature of electrolysis, open porosity of pellets, nature of anode, mode of electrolysis and configuration of the oxide cathode. The experiments were also conducted in KC1, KC1-25 tool% CaC12 and NaC1 melts to understand the effect of melt composition on the electroreduction. Different Ca-Nb-O and Nb-O intermediates were found in the pellets electrolysed for different durations of time in CaC12 melt which eventually reduced to Nb. The current efficiency of the process decreased with increasing duration of electrolysis. Decrease in electrolysis temperature from 1 173 to 1073 K led to the decrease in the rate of reduction of the oxide pellets. Pellets with high open porosity reduced faster. Carbon contamination of the melt was relatively less when pyrolytic graphite was used as anode. Of all the melts studied, the reduction was found to be better in calcium chloride melt, that too when alumina crucible was used as container of the melt.

This paper reviews recent developments in nonlinear control technologies for shape memory alloy (SMA) actuators in robotics and their related applications. SMA possesses large hysteresis, low bandwidth, slow response, and non-linear behavior, which make them difficult to control. The fast response of the SMA actuator mostly depends upon, (1) type of controller, (2) rate of addition and removal of heat, and (3) shape or form of the actuator. Though linear controllers are more desirable than nonlinear ones, the review of literature shows that the results obtained using nonlinear controllers were far better than the former one. Therefore, more emphasis is made on the nonlinear control technologies taking into account the intelligent controllers. Various forms of SMA actuator along with different heating and cooling methods are presented in this review, followed by the nonlinear control methods and the control problems encountered by the researchers.

This innovative work presents mechanical,physical and chemical characterization and analysis of newly extracted fiber from naturally resourced plant stem,named Spinifex littoreus fibers(SLF).This is a novel natural,biodegradable and sustainable reinforcement for an improved ***,the chemical constituents of SLF,such as cellulose,lignin,moisture and wax content were *** raw SLF surfaces were modified by chemical treatment with sodium hydroxide(NaOH),calcium hydroxide(Ca(OH)2)and silane.A polyester matrix was reinforced with all the treated SLF,before the mechanical properties(tensile strengths)of the composites were *** all the surface chemically treated SLF/polyester composite samples,the Ca(OH)2 treated sample exhibited the highest tensile *** microscopic examination was carried out to validate this ***,this analysis established the mechanism of failure of the tensile fractured composite samples,using Scanning Electron Microscope(SEM),among other techniques.

Synchronous occurrence of adenocarcinoma and mucosa associated lymphoid tissue(MALT) lymphoma of colon is rare,and its presence with coexisting tuberculosis is still *** our knowledge,this may be the first case *** the present report,we describe a 43-year-old female who presented with a history of abdominal pain,fever,loss of weight and loss of *** showed a large ulceroproliferative mass arising from the caecum,biopsy of which showed it to be adenocarcinoma of the colon.A right hemicolectomy was performed and microscopic study of the colon revealed tuberculosis and synchronous adenocarcinoma with *** of sixteen lymph nodes showed tuberculosis and three of sixteenpericoloniclymphnodes showed metastatic *** further confirmed the tumour to be adenocarcinoma with MALT *** would like to highlight the diagnostic challenges arising from the multi-faceted presentations of these three conditions.

Drilling through active shale formations has been a challenging practice in the oil and gas industry for a long period of time,given the complexity of shale structure and its interaction with Water Based Muds(WBMs).Although there have been many additives and methodologies proposed for a safe drilling through shale formations using WBMs,little success has been reported to the application of these methods once tested under different field *** this paper,a new WBM formulated by nanomaterials was proposed to stabilize active shale layers during drilling.A series of rheological,density,filtration loss,bentonite dispersion and shale recovery tests were conducted on the mud samples formulated by nanosilica and Nano Glass Flakes(NGFs).The results indicated that NGF,as a cheap but effective nanomaterial,is able to significantly reduce the flirtation loss without posing any significant impacts on the density and the rheology of *** also appeared that the bentonite molecules were incapable to either hydrate or disperse in the drilling fluid system in the presence of *** seems that NGFs can stabilize clay minerals and reduce the filtration loss as remarkably efficient additive,but caution must be taken to ensure that they are properly disperse in the WBMs.
