Porous silica prepared by using an acrylic emulsion has been impregnated with bismuth ion resulting in Bi2Si05 species containing surface. The as-prepared materials have been characterized by X-ray diffraction spectroscopy （XRD）, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy （XPS）, UV-Vis diffuse reflectance spectroscopy （UV-Vis DRS）, scanning electron microscopy （SEM）, energy dispersive analysis of X-ray （EDAX）, transmission electron microscopy （TEM）, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy （FTIR） and N2 adsorption/desorption techniques. EDAX analysis confirms the penetration of bismuth ions into the framework of silica to form Bi2SiO5, which is substantiated by XRD. The UV-Vis DRS shows that the catalysts are optically active and XPS confirms the inclusion of bismuth into the framework of silica. FTIR spectra illustrate the formation of Bi-O-Si linkages in the porous silica framework. SEM and TEM show the spherical morphology, whereas N2 adsorption/desorption study confirms the porosity of the prepared materials. The photocatalytic activity of the material is evaluated for the degradation of isoproturon herbicide and it is found that the material is active as compared to the commercial P-25 Degussa TiO2.

1-{4-[（2-hydroxy-benzylidene）amino]phenyl}ethanone functionalized silica gel was synthesized and used as a highly efficient, selective and reusable solid phase extractant for separation and preconcentration of trace amount of Zn（II） from environmental matrices. The adsorbent was characterized by fourier transform infrared spectroscopy （FT-IR）, elemental analysis,~3C CPMAS NMR spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy （SEM）, thermogravimetric analysis （TGA） and BET surface area analysis. The dependence of zinc extraction on various analytical parameters such as pH, type and amount of eluent, sample flow rate and interfering ions were investigated in detail. The material exhibited superior adsorption efficiency for Zn（II） with high metal loading capacity of 1.0 mmol/g under optimum conditions. After adsorption, the recovery （〉 98%） of metal ions was accomplished using 1.0 mol/L HNO3 as an eluent. The sorbent was also regenerated by microwave treatment in milder acidic environment （0.1 mol/L HNO3）. The lower detection limit and preconcentration factor of the present method were found out to be 0.04 ~tg/L and 312.5 respectively. The modified silica surface possessed excellent selectivity for the target analytes and the adsorption/desorption process remained effective for at least ten consecutive cycles. The optimized procedure was successfully implemented for the extraction of Zn（II） from mycorrhizal treated fly ash and pharmaceutical samples with reproducible results.

Nowadays,it is concern for researchers that due to high recombination rate of photogenerated charge carriers in tungsten trioxide(WO_(3)) nanoparticles,the future applications are limited in the field of *** we attempt to synthesize tungsten trioxide nanoparticles with different doping concentrations of lanthanum i.e.2 wt%,4 wt%,6 wt% and 8 wt%.The synthesized samples were characterized by using various characterization techniques:X-ray diffraction(XRD),Raman spectroscopy,Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR),photoluminescence spectra(PL),transmission electron microscopy(TEM),energy dispersive X-ray(EDX) and UV-Vis ***_(3) retains its monoclinic structure even after doping which was confirmed by XRD *** helps to descry functional groups present in the *** size of nanoparticles was calculated by using *** confirms the absence of any impurity in the synthesized *** spectroscopy confirms the presence of a large number of imperfections induced in the lattice of WO_(3).The rate of recombination was analyzed by photoluminescence(PL) spectroscopy and is minimum in 4 wt% doping of *** optical bandgap was calculated using UV-Vis spectroscopy and becomes narrow along with the doping ***,it is found that doping of La in WO_(3) has considerably ameliorate the photocatalytic activity by reducing rate of recombination due to the trapping of electrons by defects introduced in the *** decolorization of Rhodamine B(RhB) dye was performed and the values of c/c_0 and rate constant(k) confirm that the 4 wt% doping shows maximum degradation *** kinetic study for photodegradation of Rhodamine B was done by using various kinetic models and results show that the reaction follows first order kinetics very ***,optimum doping of lanthanum increases the decolorization ability of WO_(3) towards RhB dye.

Objective:To investigate and compare the hepatoprotective effects of crude ethanolic and aqueous extracts of Phyllanthus acidus（L.） Skeels（***） leaves on acetaminophen（APAP） and thioacetamide（TAA） induced liver toxicity in wistar *** was the reference hepatoprotective ***:In two different sets of experiments,the *** extracts （200 and 400 mg/kg,body weight） and silymarin（100 mg/kg,body weight） were given orally for 7 days and a single dose of APAP（2 g/kg,per oral） or TAA（100 mg/kg,subcutaneous） were given to *** level of serum aspartate transaminase（AST）,alanine transaminase（ALT）,alkaline phosphatase（ALP）,total bilirubin and total protein were monitored to assess hepatotoxicity and ***:APAP or TAA administration caused severe hepatic damage in rats as evident from significant rise in serum AST,ALT,ALP,total bilirubin and concurrent depletion in total serum *** *** extracts and silymarin prevented the toxic effects of APAP or TAA on the above serum parameters indicating the hepatoprotective *** aqueous extract was found to be more potent than the corresponding ethanolic extract against both *** phenolic and flavonoid content（175.02±4.35 and 74.68±1.28,respectively） and 2,2-diphenyl-1- picrylhydrazil（DPPH）[IC50=（33.2±0.31）μg/mL]scavenging potential was found maximum with aqueous extract as compared to ethanolic ***:The results of present study suggests that the aqueous extract of *** leaves has significant hepatoprotective activity on APAP and TAA induced hepatotoxicity,which might be associate with its high phenolic and flavonoid content and antioxidant properties.

BACKGROUND:Around 60%to 80%of patients with periampullary carcinoma are unresectable either due to distant metastasis or local vascular *** the advancement of endoscopic interventional procedures,the role of surgical bypass has ***,surgical bypass is still appropriate in patients with unresectable disease discovered at the time of *** study was conducted to assess the results of palliative surgical bypass for patients with unresectable periampullary carcinoma at our hospital,a tertiary referral center of Northern India. METHOD:The study group comprised 204 patients who had undergone surgical bypass for advanced periampullary carcinoma over the last 15 years. RESULTS:Between January 1990 and December 2004,204 patients(128 males,76 females)consisting of 179 patients with carcinoma of head of the pancreas,14 patients with ampullary carcinoma,8 patients with lower end cholangiocarcinoma and 3 patients with duodenal carcinoma underwent surgical *** average age was 51 years (range 20-78 years).Both biliary and gastric bypasses were done in 158(77.45%),biliary bypass alone in 37(18.13%) and gastric bypass alone in 9(4.32%).Biliary bypass was done by Roux-en-Y hepaticojejunostomy,and gastric bypass by retrocolic *** overall postoperative mortality and morbidity were 0.98%and 26.9%,respectively The patients who died had undergone previously endoscopic *** included wound infection in 12.25%of the patients,bile leak in 5.12%,delayed gastric emptying in 5.38%,ascitic leak from drains in 8.8%,and upper gastrointestinal bleeding in 1.96%.The incidences of wound infection and bile leak both were significantly higher in patients who had had preoperative biliary stenting None of the patients who had undergone Roux-en-Y hepati cojejunostomy+retrocolic gastrojejunostomy required any intervention later in their ***:Surgical bypass is a safe procedure with negligible mortality and minimal mo

Colletotrichum gloeosporioides sensu lato has been associated with anthracnose in diverse commercial *** is now established that *** sensu lato comprises 33 phylogenetic species and *** sensu stricto is not a common pathogen of tropical *** this study,we investigated the phylogenetic relationships of 85 Colletotrichum isolates associated with select tropical fruits and flowering plants from *** the ApMat marker analysis,the 85 isolates clustered with 7 known Colletotrichum species(***,***,***,***,***,***,Glomerella cingulata ***)and six novel *** of the novel lineages is described and illustrated in this paper as Colletotrichum communis ***.,while new-host pathogen associations for ***,***,*** and *** are reported from *** of the 85 isolates analysed in this paper,73 isolates clustered within the *** species complex,indicating that *** species complex,not *** sensu stricto,is common on tropical *** comparison with act,cal,gapdh,ITS and tub2 gene markers,we recommend the use of the ApMat marker for accurate identification of cryptic species within the *** species *** believe that the ApMat marker,in combination with one or two similar‘phylogenetically superior’gene markers,is a better candidate for specieslevel classification of fungi that were traditionally identified as‘Colletotrichum gloeosporioides’.

In today’s world,image processing techniques play a crucial role in the prognosis and diagnosis of various diseases due to the development of several precise and accurate methods for medical *** analysis of medical images is essential for doctors,as manual investigation often leads to inter-observer *** research aims to enhance healthcare by enabling the early detection of diabetic retinopathy through an efficient image processing *** proposed hybridized method combines Modified Inertia Weight Particle Swarm Optimization(MIWPSO)and Fuzzy C-Means clustering(FCM)*** FCM does not incorporate spatial neighborhood features,making it highly sensitive to noise,which significantly affects segmentation *** method incorporates a modified FCM that includes spatial functions in the fuzzy membership matrix to eliminate *** results demonstrate that the proposed FCM-MIWPSO method achieves highly precise and accurate medical image ***,segmented images are classified as benign or malignant using the Decision Tree-Based Temporal Association Rule(DT-TAR)*** analysis with existing state-of-the-art models indicates that the proposed FCM-MIWPSO segmentation technique achieves a remarkable accuracy of 98.42%on the dataset,highlighting its significant impact on improving diagnostic capabilities in medical imaging.
