In the present research work,AZ91 magnesium alloy and AA6082-T6 aluminium alloy were joined by friction stir welding *** comparison of microstructure and mechanical properties between different joints by varying the different materials on advance and retreating sides were mainly *** different welds have been prepared to find the material mixing between the similar and dissimilar *** joint interfaces of the welds have been investigated by employing an optical microscope and scanning electron *** Mg was placed on advancing side(AS),more aluminium content was soluble in nugget zone than the case where Mg was placed on the retreating side(RS).Thin intermetallic layer in the joint interface of Mg/Al and thick intermetallic layer with poor adhesion of the aluminium and magnesium have been observed in the dissimilar joints varying the *** highest UTS of 172.3 MPa was found for Mg-Al when Mg was placed on AS and lower UTS of 156.25 MPa was obtained when Mg was placed on *** of 86 Hv and 89 Hv were observed in the Stir zone for the dissimilar AZ91 Mg alloy and AA6082-T6 Al alloy when AZ91Mg alloy was placed on the AS and on the RS *** was also carried out to find the mode of failure.

The strength of the mould cavity in sand casting is very much significant to attain high-quality castings. Optimization of green sand process parameters plays a vital role in minimizing casting defects. In the present research work, the effect of process parameters such as AFS grain fineness number, water, molasses, bentonite, fly ash, and ramming, and their levels on the resultant mould properties were investigated and optimized using Taguchi based grey relational analysis. The Taguchi L18 orthogonal array and analysis of variance(ANOVA) were used. The quality characteristics viz., green compression strength, permeability, bulk density, mould hardness and shatter index of green sand mould were optimized using grey relational grade, based on the experiments designed using Taguchi's Design of Experiments. ANOVA analysis indicated that water content is the most influential parameter followed by bentonite, and degree of ramming that contributes to the quality characteristics. The results are confirmed by calculating confidence intervals, which lies within the interval limits. Finally, microstructure observations and X-ray diffraction analysis have been performed for the optimal sand parametric combination. Results show that presence of maximum amount of SiO_2, which might be the reason for enhancement of the physical properties of the sand.

The refinement potential of AI-3.5FeNb-I.5C master alloy on pure aluminium and AI-9.8Si-3.4Cu alloy has been investigated. Different amounts of AI-3.5FeNb-I.5C master alloy were added to estimate the optimal addition level. It was found that the addition of AI-3.5FeNb-I.5C grain refiner can promote significantly the refinement of grains in the pure aluminium, particularly at 0.1wt.%, with the mean primary aluminium a-grain size reducing to 187＋3 IJm from about 1-3 mm. Similarly, the microstructural study of the AI-9.8Si-3.4Cu alloy die casting at different weight percentages （viz. 0.0wt.%, 0.1wt.% and 1.0wt.%） of AI-3.5FeNb-I.5C master alloy shows that the AI-3.5FeNb-I.5C master alloy as a grain refiner is also acceptable for AI-Si cast alloys when the silicon content is more than 4wt.%. As a result of inoculation with AI-3.5FeNb-1.5C master alloy, the average grain size of a-AI is reduced to 22＋3 #m from about 71＋3 IJm and grain refining efficiency is not characterized by any visible poisoning effect, which is the major limitation in the grain refinement of AI-Si cast alloys by applying AI-Ti-B ternary master alloys. Mechanical properties such as ultimate tensile strength and yield strength are significantly improved by 9.6% and 9.7%, respectively.

Al-4.5%Cu alloy was used as a matrix at2%,4%and6%of bamboo leaf ash(BLA)which was extruded from agro waste and was used as *** composite which was fabricated by stir casting method possessed superior properties due to an effective bonding between matrix and reinforcement *** fabricated composite specimens were subjected to various tests to determine the mechanical properties such as density,porosity,hardness and tensile *** results were compared with basic matrix ***,the OM,SEM with EDAX and XRD analyses were carried out to analyze the dispersion of the reinforced particles in the selected matrix *** was observed that the homogeneous distribution of BLA particles in composites was intragranular in ***,it was also observed that BLA particles were well bonded with matrix alloy with clear *** was also found that the density decreased with increase in mass fraction of BLA particles and porosity increased with increase in mass fraction of BLA *** hardness and tensile strength were increased up to4%of BLA in the composite,with a further increase in BLA content the hardness and tensile strength decreased.

Some investigations have been carried out on hot tears in the A713 cast alloy, which is one of the long freezing range alloys, with objective to minimize/prevent hot tears. Experiments were conducted by varying pouring temperatures at 700, 750, and 780 ℃ on the alloy with the addition of grain refiners like Al-2.5Ti-0.5C and Al-3.5Ti-1.5C. It was found that hot tearing was minimized by the addition of Al-3.5Ti-1.5C grain refiner, but grain refinement alone could not prevent hot tearing in A713 cast alloy. This has contradicted the findings of some earlier researchers. Experiments conducted on hot tearing with the addition of iron were found to be interesting. It was found that grain refinement along with iron addition to the A713 alloy has reduced the inter-dendritic separation so that interlocking could take place along the grain boundaries. Thus, iron, which comes as an impurity in commercial aluminum, can prevent hot tearing of A713 alloy.

The present research work emphasized on identifying and optimizing various significant process parameters of high pressure die casting by using QFD-Taguchi based hybrid approach in order to yield the optimum casting density of the *** of critical process parameters,selection of appropriate orthogonal array,analysis of means and analysis of variance are employed to study the performance characteristic of the die casting *** most critical process parameters identified and optimized by QFD-Taguchi based hybrid approach,such as the injection pressure,the molten metal temperature,the plunger velocity(first and second stage)and the die temperature were explored in the experimental *** results show that injection pressure is the most significant factor among the selected *** contribution of the injection pressure to the variation of mean casting density is around61.483%.Confidence interval(CI)has also been estimated as0.000718for95%consistency level to validate the predicted range of optimum casting density of aforesaid alloy.

Two types of composites were prepared with Al-4.5Cu alloy as a matrix using stir casting *** was reinforced with 10wt.%of Si C and 2wt.%of *** other was reinforced with 10wt.%of Si C and 4wt.%of *** surfaces were remelted using a CO2 laser beam with an objective to study the influence of laser surface melting(LSM).The topography,microhardness,corrosion resistance and wear resistance of the laser melted surfaces were *** surface integrity after LSM was compared with as-cast *** enhanced the microhardness and wear resistance of the surface in each *** of the laser melted surface was low and corrosion resistance was ***,LSM can be conveniently applied to enhancing the surface integrity of the aluminium ***,there is an optimum laser specific energy,around 38 J/m^2 in this study,for obtaining the best surface integrity.

Resistome is a cluster of microbial genes encoding proteins with necessary functions to resist the action of *** governs essential and separate biological functions to develop resistance against *** widespread clinical and nonclinical uses of antibiotics over the years have combined to select antibiotic-resistant determinants and develop resistome in *** present,the emergence of drug resistance because of resistome is a significant problem faced by clinicians for the treatment of Salmonella *** resistome is a dynamic and ever-expanding component in *** foundation of resistome in Salmonella is laid long before;therefore,the antibiotic resistome of Salmonella is reviewed,discussed,and *** have searched the literature using PubMed,MEDLINE,and Google Scholar with related key terms(resistome,Salmonella,antibiotics,drug resistance)and prepared this *** this review,we summarize the status of resistance against antibiotics in ***,highlight the seminal work in the resistome of *** and the genes involved in the antibiotic resistance,and discuss the various methods to identify *** resistome for the proactive identification of this infection and quick diagnosis of the disease.

We present the transition of the universe from the early decelerating phase to the current accelerating phase with viscous fluid and time-dependent cosmological constant (A) as a source of matter in Bianchi- V *** study the transit behaviour of the universe,we assume the scale factor as an increasing function of time,which generates a time-dependent deceleration parameter (DP).The study revesls that the cosmological term does not change its fundamental nature for ε =const and ε =ε(t),where ε is the coefficient of bulk *** A(t)is found to be positive and is a decreasing function of *** same behavior was observed during recent supernovae *** physical behaviour of the universe is discussed in detail.
