Selective Laser Melting of Al-7Si-0.5Mg-0.5Cu:Effect of Heat Treatment on Microstructure Evolution,Mechanical Properties and Wear Resistance

Al-7Si-0.5Mg-0.5Cu alloy specimens have been fabricated by selective laser melting(SLM).In this study,the effects of solution treatment,quenching,and artifi cial aging on the microstructural evolution,as well as mechanical and wear properties,have been investigated.The as-prepared samples show a heterogeneous cellular microstructure with two different cell sizes composed ofα-Al and Si phases.After solution-treated and quenched(SQ)heat treatment,the cellular microstructure disappears,and coarse and lumpy Si phase precipitates and a rectangular Cu-rich phase were observed.Subsequent aging after solution-treated and quenched(SQA)heat treatment causes the formation of nanosized Cu-rich precipitates.The asprepared SLMs sample has good mechanical properties and wear resistance(compressive yield strength:215±6 MPa and wear rate 2×10^(-13)m^(3)/m).The SQ samples with lumpy Si particles have the lowest strength of 167±13 MPa and the highest wear rate of 6.18×10^(1-13)m^(3)/m.The formation of nanosized Cu-rich precipitates in the SQA samples leads to the highest compressive yield strength of 233±6 MPa and a good wear rate of 5.06×10^(-13)m^(3)/m.

Lymphatic filariasis(LF),an asymptomatic,acute,and chronic condition in human beings,is the second most common vector-borne disease after malaria.According to the World Health Organization,there are 120 million LF cases detected in 81 tropical and subtropical countries,and one billion people are at risk.Therefore,the Global Program to Eliminate Lymphatic Filariasis was launched in 2000,with the primary objective of stopping LF transmission among all at-risk groups using mass drug administration(MDA),managing morbidities,and preventing LF-related impairments using a minimum treatment package.Additionally,other programs such as epidemiological assessment including National Filaria Control Program and World Health Organization recommended routine and pre-MDA microfilaremia surveys also implemented to stop the LF transmission.The routine filaria surveys were also carried out in around 2000-4000 individuals/month throughout the year whereas pre-MDA surveys were also conducted every year in approximately 4000 individuals in four fixed and four random sites.Furthermore,the Transmission Assessment Survey was also conducted to check the risk of LF among primary school children.Moreover,potential diagnostic methods,systematic surveillance regimes,the Direct Network Report system,and regular trainings and awareness may be also effective in preventing the recurrence of LF.Hence,this review emphasizes the potential advocacy tools and various strategies as well as procedures for monitoring,which could be impactful in eliminating LF.

An interacting two-fluid scenario for dark energy in a Bianchi type-I cosmological model

We study the evolution of the dark energy parameter within a Bianchi type-I cosmological model filled with barotropic fluid and dark energy. The solutions have been obtained for power law and exponential forms of the expansion parameter （they correspond to a constant deceleration parameter in general relativity）. After a long time, the models tend to be isotropic under certain conditions.

Differential gene expression profile evaluation between uterine leiomyoma and leiomyosarcoma using a machine learning approach

Objective The objective of this study is to differentiate between uterine leiomyomas(ULM)and uterine leiomyosarcomas(ULMS)by conducting molecular differential analysis and identifying potential prognostic biomarkers for diagnosis.Methods The microarray datasets(GSEID:GSE64763 and GSE185543)were retrieved from the Gene Expression Omnibus database.Data preprocessing and differential gene expressions(DEGs)analysis were performed.The DEGs were further intersected to find the common DEGs in ULM and ULMS and further validation of selected DEGs were performed.Further,a machine learning classifier was also applied in the selection of biomarkers.Protein-protein interaction network based upon STRING v 10.5,was constructed.Additionally,Gene Ontology(GO)and KEGG(Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes)pathway enrichment analyses were also performed to dissect possible functions and pathways.Results A total of 50 significant DEGs for ULM while 321 DEGs for ULMS have been identified with their official gene symbol.Between ULM and ULMS,a total of 14 common DEGs were identified of which 8 were up-regulated while 6 were down-regulated.The DEGs of(GSE185543)were also analyzed and the significant genes were retrieved common in both datasets for further analysis.Using a machine learning approach,10 feature genes were identified.Using the expression profiles of these genes,a sequential minimal optimization(SMO)prediction model was built on the training set,and it accurately and reliably classified features expression in ULM and ULMS in the independent test set.Furthermore,Co-Enrichment analysis was also performed.Conclusion The study identified several DEGs,including ZNF365,EPYC,COL11A1,SHOX2,MMP13,TNN,GPM6A,and GATA2,through cross-validation,machine learning classifier,and Co-Enrichment analysis.These candidate disease genes may provide valuable insight into the underlying mechanisms and could be used as potential diagnostic biomarkers for ULM and ULMS.However,further validation of these genes is necessary to better understand their

The general class of Bianchi cosmological models with viscous fluid and particle creation in Brans-Dicke theory

This paper deals with the general class of Bianchi cosmological models with bulk viscosity and particle creation described by full causal thermodynamics in Brans-Dicke theory. We discuss three types of average scale-factor solutions for the general class of Bianchi cosmological models by using a special law for the deceler- ation parameter which is linear in time with a negative slope. The exact solutions to the corresponding field equations are obtained in quadrature form and solutions to the Einstein field equations are obtained for three different physically viable cosmologies. All the physical parameters are calculated and discussed in each model.

Defining Soil and Water Assessment Tool(SWAT)hydrologic responseunits(HRUs)by field boundaries

The Soil and Water Assessment Tool(SWAT)is widely used to relate farm management practices to their impacts on surface waters at the watershed scale,yet its smallest spatial unit is not generally defined by physically meaningful boundaries.The hydrologic response unit(HRU)is the smallest spatial unit of the model,and the standard HRU definition approach lumps all similar land uses,soils,and slopes within a subbasin based upon user-defined thresholds.This standard method provides an efficient way to discretize large watersheds where simulation at the field scale may not be computationally feasible.In relatively smaller watersheds,however,defining HRUs to specific spatial locations bounded by property lines or field borders would often be advantageous,yet this is not currently possible within the ArcSWAT interface.In this study,a simple approach is demonstrated that defines HRUs by field boundaries through addition of uniquely named soils to the SWAT user soil database and creation of a field boundary layer with majority land use and soil attributes.Predictions of nitrogen,phosphorus,and sediment losses were compared in a case study watershed where SWAT was set up using both the standard HRU definition and field boundary approach.Watershed-scale results were reasonable and similar for both methods,but aggregating fields by majority soil type masked extremely high soil erosion predicted for a few soils.Results from field-based HRU delineation may be quite different from the standard approach due to choosing a majority soil type in each farm field.This approach is flexible such that any land use and soil data prepared for SWAT can be used and any shapefile boundary can divide HRUs.

Bioprospection of marine actinomycetes: recent advances,challenges and future perspectives

In exploring new sources for economically important products, marine environment draws particular attention because of its remarkable diversity and extreme conditions;it is known to produce metabolic products of great value. It represents untapped source for the discovery of novel secondary metabolites with varying potential such as antibiotic, anti-tumor, antifouling and cytotoxic properties. Marine actinomycetes distributed throughout the marine environment from shallow to deep sea sediments have proved to be a finest source for this discovery. Secondary metabolites derived from marine actinomycetes have proved their worth in industries based on the research on their properties and wide range applications. Spotlight of the review is range of marine based actinomycetes products and significant research in this field. This shows the capability of marine actinomycetes as bioactive metabolite producers. Additionally, the present review addresses some effective and novel approaches of procuring marine microbial compounds utilizing the latest screening strategies of drug discovery from which traditional resources such as marine actinobacteria has decreased due to declining yields. The aim is in the context of promoting fruitful and profitable results in the near future. The recent surfacing of new technologies for bioprospection of marine actinomycetes are very promising, resulting in high quality value added products, and will be de?ning a new era for bioactive compounds with medical and biotechnological applications.

Microstructure and Mechanical Properties of Mg–7.4% Al Alloy Matrix Composites Reinforced by Nanocrystalline Al–Ca Intermetallic Particles

Mg-7.6% Al （in mass fraction） alloy matrix composites reinforced with different volume fractions of nano- crystalline Al3Cas particles were synthesized by powder metallurgy, and the effect of the volume fraction of reinforcement on the mechanical properties was studied. Room temperature compression test reveals considerable improvement on mechanical properties as compared to unreinforced matrix. The compressive strength increases from 683 MPa for unre- inforced alloy matrix to about 767 and 823 MPa for the samples having 20 and 40 vol% of reinforcement, respectively, while retaining appreciable plastic deformation ranging between 12 and 24%. The specific strength of the composites increased significantly, demonstrating the effectiveness of the low-density AlaCas reinforcement.

Ichnology and Depositional Environment of the Cambrian Nagaur Sandstone (Nagaur Group) Along the Dulmera Section, Bikaner-Nagaur Basin, Rajasthan

The Lower Cambrian Nagaur Sandstone（Marwar Supergroup） has yielded trace fossils Treptichnus, Cruziana, serially repeated Rusophycus, Diplichnites, Monomorphichnus, Bergaueria,arthropod swimming traces and leap frogging marks of Cruziana ichnofacies. This ichnofossils assemblage is dominantly preserved in fine to medium grained red sandstone beds of the Mohra Member（Nagaur Sandstone）. The presence of graded rip-up clasts, current ripples, dune crossstratification with mud drapes and tidal bundles indicates a subtidal paleoenvironment for the deposition of Nagaur Sandstone Formation, which is corroborated by the Cruziana ichnofacies trace fossil assemblage.

Buried channels provide keys to infer Quaternary stratigraphic and paleo-environmental changes:A case study from the west coast of India

High resolution shallow seismic data was acquired from inner continental shelf of Goa,west coast of India to map underlying stratigraphic and buried geomorphic features of shelf strata.Seismic data revealed characteristic channel incisions beneath 4-15 m thick sediment layer and corresponds to multi cycle incisions.Stratigraphic analysis of these incision signatures reveals three prominent subaerial unconformities S6,S7 and S9.These unconformities were exposed during the last glacial,penultimate glacial(MIS-6)and prior to penultimate glacial(MIS-8)periods.On the basis of interpreted age of subaerial unconformities and differences in their morphological features,observed channel incisions have been divided grossly into three phases of incision.Phase-1 incisions are older than^330 kyr BP,whereas,incisions of Phase-2 and Phase-3 correspond to^320-125 kyr BP and^115-10 kyr BP respectively.Plan form of these incisions varied from a straight channel type to ingrown meander and then to anastomosing channel types.These channels meet at the confluence of present-day Mandovi and Zuari rivers.The confluence point has varied in due course of time because of cyclic incision and burial with repeated sea level fluctuations.The preserved main channel width varies from^100 m to 1000 m.and maximum channel depth reaches up to^35 m.Comparison of quantitative and qualitative morphologic results of different phases of incisions suggest that Phase-2 channels had^33%more mean bank full discharge than that of the Phase-3 channels.Phase-2 incisions had been carved in higher hydraulic energy condition as compared to Phase-3 incisions implying that the Indian summer monsoon was better during formative stages of Phase-2 incisions.
