Photoacoustic spectroscopy(PAS)as a highly sensitive and selective trace gas detection technique has extrem.ly broad application in m.ny ***,the laser sources currently used in PAS lim.t the sensing *** to diode laser and quantum.cascade laser,the solid-state laser has the m.rits of high optical power,excellent beam.quality,and wide tuning *** we present a long-wave,high-power,wide-tunable,singlelongitudinal-m.de solid-state laser used as light source in a PAS sensor for trace gas *** self-built solid-state laser had an em.ssion wavelength of~2μm.with Tm.YAP crystal as the gain m.terial,with an excellent wavelength and optical power stability as well as a high beam.*** wide wavelength tuning range of 9.44 nm.covers the absorption spectra of water and am.onia,with a m.xim.m.optical power of~130 m.,allowing dual gas detection with a single laser *** solid-state laser was used as light source in three different photoacoustic detection techniques:standard PAS with m.crophone,and external-and intra-cavity quartz-enhanced photoacoustic spectroscopy(QEPAS),proving that solid-state laser is an attractive excitation source in photoacoustic spectroscopy.

This work describes the use of TiO_(2)nanotubes-based electrodes(TNT)m.dified with Cu_(2)O nanostructures and gold nanoparticles for the photoelectroreduction of CO_(2)to produce value-added com.ounds.A thin layer of polydopam.ne was used as both an adherent agent and an electron transfer m.diator,due to itsπ-conjugated electron *** highest production yield was achieved using a TNT@PDA/Nc/Au40%electrode,with Faradaic efficiencies of 47.4%(110.5μm.cm.(-2))and 27.8%(50.4μm.cm.(-2))for m.thanol and m.thane,*** perform.nce of the photoelectrodes was shown to be Cu_(2)O facet-dependent,with cubic structures leading to greater conversion of CO_(2)to m.thanol(43%)and m.thane(27%),com.ared to the octahedral m.rphology,while a higher percentage of m.tallic gold on the nanostructured Cu_(2)O surface was m.inly im.ortant for *** functional theory(DFT)calculations supported these findings,attributing the superior photoelectrocatalytic perform.nce of the TNT@PDA/Nc/Au40%electrode for CH4generation to the form.tion of an OCH3interm.diate bonded to Au *** using isotope-labeling and analysis by gas chrom.tograph-m.ss(GC-m.)dem.nstrated that13CO_(2)was the source for photoelectrocatalytic generation of13CH3OH and13CH313CH2OH.

The contem.orary problem.of prostate cancer overtreatm.nt can be partially attributed to the diagnosis of potentially indolent prostate cancers that pose low risk to aged m.n, and lack of sufficiently accurate risk stratification m.thods to reliably seek out m.n with indolent diseases. Since progressive acquisition and accum.lation of genom.c alterations, both genetic and epigenetic, is a defining feature of all hum.n cancers at different stages of disease progression, it is hypothesized that RNA and DNA alterations characteristic of indolent prostate tum.rs m.y be different from.those previously characterized in the setting of clinically significant prostate cancer. Approaches capable of detecting such alterations on a genom.-wide level are the m.st prom.sing. Such analysis m.y uncover m.lecular events defining early initiating stages along the natural history of prostate cancer progression, and ultim.tely lead to rational developm.nt of risk stratification m.thods for identification of m.n who can safely forego treatm.nt. However, defining and characterizing indolent prostate cancer in a clinically relevant context rem.ins a challenge, particularly when genom.-wide approaches are em.loyed to profile form.lin-fixed paraffin-em.edded （FFPE） tissue specim.ns. Here, we provide the conceptual basis underlying the im.ortance of understanding indolent prostate cancer from.m.lecular profiling studies, identify the key hurdles in sam.le acquisition and variables that affect m.lecular data derived from.FFPE tissues, and highlight recent progresses in efforts to address these technical challenges.

Radiative decays D((s))*→D((s))γare revisited in light of new experim.ntal data from.the BaBar and BESⅢ*** radiative couplings gD*Dγencoding nonperturbative QCD effects are calculated in the fram.work of the covariant confined quark m.del developed by *** com.are our results with other theoretical studies and experim.ntal *** couplings(in GeV-1)|g(D*+D+γ)|=0.45(9)and|g(D*0D0γ)|=1.72(34)calculated in our m.del agree with the corresponding experim.ntal data|g(D*+D+γ)|=0.47(7)and|g(D*0D0γ)|=1.77(16).The m.st interesting case is the decay Ds*→Dsγ,for which a recent prediction based on light-cone sum.rules at next-to-leading order|gDs*Dsγ|=0.60(19)deviates from.the first(and only to date)lattice QCD result|gDs*Dsγ|=0.11(2)at nearly3σ.Our calculation yields|gDs*Dsγ|=0.29(6),which falls som.how between the two m.ntioned results,although it is larger than those predicted in other studies using quark m.dels or QCD sum.rules.

Oxidative stress is one of the m.in m.chanism. responsible for m.le *** conditions such as varicocele,obesity,advanced age,and lifestyle can lead to an increase in reactive oxygen species,causing an oxidative im.alance in the *** are sensitive to reactive oxygen species and require energy to carry out their m.in function of fertilizingthe *** reactive oxygen species can affect sperm.m.tabolism.leading to im.obility,im.aired acrosom. reaction,and celldeath,thereby im.airing reproductive *** double-blind random.zed study evaluated the effect of supplem.ntation withL-carnitine,acetyl-L-carnitine,vitam.ns,and other nutrients on sem.n quality in 104 infertile patients with or without varicocele,while also investigating the im.act of factors such as obesity and advanced age on *** concentration significantlyincreased in the supplem.nted group com.ared to the placebo group(P=0.0186).Total sperm.count also significantly increasedin the supplem.nted group(P=0.0117),as did sperm.m.tility(P=0.0120).The treatm.nt had a positive effect on patients upto 35 years of age in term. of sperm.concentration(P=0.0352),while a body m.ss index(Bm.)above 25 kg m.(−2) had a negativeeffect on sperm.concentration(P=0.0110).Results were not showing a net benefit in stratifying patients in accordance withtheir Bm. since sperm.quality increase was not affected by this *** conclusion,antioxidant supplem.ntation m.y bebeneficial for infertile patients and has a m.re positive effect on younger patients with a norm.l weight.

By analyzing surface latent heat flux (SLHF) data from.the NCEP/NCAR Reanalysis Project for the period three m.nths before and after the Sept. 3, 2010 m.S 7.1 New Zealand earthquake, an isolated SLHF positive anom.ly on Aug. 1, 2010 was found with a high value of about 160 W/m.2 to the northeast of the epicenter. Historical data, background pixels, and wavelet transform. of tim. series were com.rehensively analyzed to study the spatiotem.oral features of the SLHF anom.ly. After rem.ving the influences of wind speed and cloud cover, the key factor leading to local SLHF anom.lies is the surface tem.erature increm.nt. Com.ined with GPS displacem.nt observations and tectonic settings, we determ.ned that the physical m.chanism.of the SLHF anom.ly could possibly be attributed to hot underground m.terials related to high-tem.erature and high-pressure upwelling from.the deep crust and m.ntle along the nearby subduction zone, thereby explaining the local tem.erature increm.nt to the northeast of the epicenter, as well as in the center of the North Island and the southwest of the South Island. Furtherm.re, it changed the specific hum.dity between the ground and surface air, causing the local SLHF increm.nt.

This paper describes a software tool, called LEVSOFT, suitable for the electric field sim.lations of corona electrodes by the Finite Elem.nt m.thod （FEm.. Special attention was paid to the user friendly construction of geom.tries with corners and sharp points, and to the fast generation of highly refined triangular m.shes and field m.ps. The execution of selfadaptive m.shes was also im.lem.nted. These custom.zed features m.ke the code attractive for the sim.lation of needle-type corona electrodes. Som. case exam.les involving needle type electrodes are presented.
