Among the macromolecular drug targets in neurodegenerative disorders, the neurotrophin brain-derived neurotrophic factor（BDNF） and its high-affinity tropomyosin-related kinase receptor（Trk B） present strong interest for nanomedicine development aiming at neuronal and synaptic repair. Currently, BDNF is regarded as the neurotrophic factor of highest therapeutic significance. However, BDNF has delivery problems as a protein drug. The enhanced activation of the transcription factor CREB（c AMP response element-binding protein） has been evidenced to increase the BDNF gene expression and hence the production of endogenous BDNF. We assume that BDNF delivery by nanocarriers and mitochondrial protection may provide high potential for therapeutic amelioration of the neuroregenerative strategies. Beneficial therapeutic outcomes may be expected for synergistic dual or multi-drug action aiming at（i） neurotrophic protein regulation in the central and peripheral nervous systems, and（ii） diminishment of the production of reactive oxygen species（ROS） and the oxidative damage in mitochondria. Our research strategy is based on a nanoarchitectonics approach for the design of nanomedicine assemblies by hierarchical self-assembly. We explore nanoarchitectonics concepts in soft-matter nanotechnology towards preparation of biodegradable self-assembled lipid nanostructures for safe neuro-therapeutic applications of multi-target nanomedicines.

The modern accuracy of measurements allows the residual/peculiar(Galactocentric) velocity of the supermassive black hole(SMBH) in our Galaxy, Sgr A*, on the order of several kilometers per *** integrate possible orbits of the SMBH along with the surrounding nuclear stellar cluster(NSC) for a barred model of the Galaxy using modern constraints on the components of the SMBH Galactocentric velocity. Is is shown that the range of oscillations of the SMBH + NSC in a regular Galactic field in the plane of the Galaxy allowed by these constraints strongly depends on the set of central components of the Galactic potential. If the central components are represented only by a bulge/bar, for a point estimate of the SMBH Galactocentric velocity, the oscillation amplitude does not exceed 7 pc in the case that a classical bulge is present and reaches 25 pc if there is no bulge;with SMBH velocity components within the 2σ significance level, the amplitude can reach 15 and 50 pc, respectively. However, when taking into account the nuclear stellar disk(NSD), even in the absence of a bulge, the oscillation amplitude is only 5 pc for the point estimate of the SMBH velocity, and 10 pc for the 2σ significance level. Thus, the possible oscillations of the SMBH + NSC complex from the confirmed components of the Galaxy’s potential are mostly limited by the NSD, and even taking into account the uncertainty of the mass of the latter, the oscillation amplitude can hardly exceed 13 pc = 6′.

Type 2 diabetes mellitus patients have a markedly higher risk of developing *** multiple factors contribute to this predisposition,one of these involves the increased secretion of amylin,or islet amyloid polypeptide,that accompanies the pathophysiology of type 2 diabetes *** amyloid polypeptide accumulation has undoubtedly been implicated in various forms of dementia,including Alzheimer’s disease and vascular dementia,but the exact mechanisms underlying islet amyloid polypeptide’s causative role in dementia are *** this review,we have summarized the literature supporting the various mechanisms by which islet amyloid polypeptide accumulation may cause neuronal damage,ultimately leading to the clinical symptoms of *** discuss the evidence for islet amyloid polypeptide deposition in the brain,islet amyloid polypeptide interaction with other amyloids implicated in neurodegeneration,neuroinflammation caused by islet amyloid polypeptide deposition,vascular damage induced by islet amyloid polypeptide accumulation,and islet amyloid polypeptide-induced *** are very few therapies approved for the treatment of dementia,and of these,clinical responses have been controversial at ***,investigating new,targetable pathways is vital for identifying novel therapeutic strategies for treating *** such,we conclude this review by discussing islet amyloid polypeptide accumulation as a potential therapeutic target not only in treating type 2 diabetes mellitus but as a future target in treating or even preventing dementia associated with type 2 diabetes mellitus.

We investigated the dependence of the parameters of the segments of spiral arms of the Galaxy on the age of classical *** catalog of Cepheids(Mel’nik et al.)was divided into two samples—relatively young(P>9d)and relatively old(P<9d)*** parameters of the spiral structure were determined both for two samples separately and jointly for the combination of two systems of segments traced by young and old *** most of the segments,their parameters for young and old objects differ *** into account the difference between the two segment systems,we obtained the estimate R0 equal to 7.23^+0.19/-0.18 kpc,which in the modern Large Magellanic Cloud(LMC)calibration corresponds to the value of R0=8.08^+0.2/-10.20|stat.^+0.38/-0.36|*** is shown that the displacement between the segments is not reduced to the effect of differential rotation *** interpret this displacement for objects of Perseus and Sagittarius-2 segments,we carried out a dynamic modeling of the change in the position of the segment points when moving in the smooth gravitational field of the *** the angular velocity of rotation of the spiral pattern Ωp=25.2±0.5 km s 1 kpc 1(Dambis et al.)the observed displacement between segments on young and old objects can be explained by the amplitude of spiral perturbations of the radial velocity of u=10±1.5 km s *** the constructed double system of spiral segments,it is demonstrated that the assumption of constancy of the pitch angles within each segment and the assumption that the pole of the spiral pattern is in the direction of the nominal center of the Galaxy do not contradict the data within the range of uncertainty.

Colloidal gold （Au）, a well-tolerated several applications in nanomedicine. nanomaterial, is currently exploited for We show that gold nanoparticles tagged with a novel tumor-homing peptide containing Asn-Gly-Arg （NGR）, a ligand of CD13 expressed by the tumor neovasculature, can be exploited as carriers for cytokine delivery to tumors. Biochemical and functional studies showed that the NGR molecular scaffoldflinker used for gold functionalization is critical for CD13 recognition. Using fibrosarcorna-bearing mice, NGR-tagged nanodrugs could deliver extremely low, yet pharmacologically active doses of tumor necrosis factor （TNF）, an anticancer cytokine, to tumors with no evidence of toxicity. Mechanistic studies confirmed that CD13 targeting was a primary mechanism of drug delivery and excluded a major role of integrin targeting consequent to NGR deamidation, a degradation reaction that generates the isoAsp-Gly-Arg （isoDGR） integrin ligand. NGR-tagged gold nanoparticles can be used, in principle, as a novel platform for single- or multi-cytokine delivery to tumor endothelial cells for cancer therapy.

Modeling the Vertical Distribution of the Milky Way’s Flat Subsystem Objects

Aims Non-native invasive plants can alter soil chemistry through litter production and decomposition to facilitate their ***,the important roles of these underlying processes in plant invasion remain poorly understood,particularly in tropical forest ***,we compared litter production,quality and decompos-ition of two invasive species(Broussonetia papyrifera and Cedrela odorata)and two co-occurring native species(Celtis mildbraedii and Funtumia elastica),and soil properties under them to elucidate their roles in the invasion of a tropical forest in *** Leaf litter production rates were determined using 36 mesh traps installed in the study area,while litter quality and soil physico-chemical properties were determined using standard protocols.A 6-month decomposition experiment using the litterbag technique was conducted to compare the decomposition rates of the *** Findings Litter production varied among the species and over time,with *** producing 0.35-4.27 tons ha−1 y−1 from October to January;the other species produced 0.03^(-1).74 tons ha−1 y−1 over the same *** the litterbag experiment,*** recorded the lowest mass remaining(11-36%),followed by ***(17-51%),***(31-55%)and ***(48-62%)in that *** papyrifera had the highest nitrogen(3.91%)and phosphorus(0.24%)but lowest lignin(12.20%)concentrations and the lowest C:N(10.87)ratio,indicating higher litter quality com-pared to the other *** under *** was richest in phosphorus and nitrogen compared to the other ***,our results indicate that the production of more nutrient-rich and rapidly decomposing leaf litter by *** may constitute an important positive feedback mechanism driving its invasion and impacts in this tropical forest.

Tungstate ions WO4^2- are not electrochemically active in chloride melts. Upon introduction of PO3 ions into the melt, two waves appear in the voltammograms at potentials -0.1-- -0.2 V and -0.3-- -0.5 V vs. Pb/Pb2＋ reference electrode. With a PO3- concentration ratio of 0.01〈[PO3-]/[WO42-]〈0.18, the potentiostatic electrolysis product of WO42 at the above mentioned potentials is metallic tungsten; a NaPO3 concentration increase for ratios [PO3-]/[WO42-]〉〉0.18 results in tungsten phosphide in electrolysis product. Cyclic voltammograms and dependence of half-peak potentials on electrode polarization rate indicate the irreversible character of the electrode process. Elec- trode process modeling allows us to state that the first wave in the voltammogram of KC1-NaC1-Na2WOa-NaPO3 sys- tem corresponds to tungsten oxychlorides discharge while the second wave appears due to the discharge of di- tungstate ions. In the voltammograms of Na2WOa-NaPO3 melts, reduction wave was observed at -1.1-- -1.2 V po- tentials. Proportionality of limiting current to NaPO3 concentration, constancy of ld/V1/2 ratio, and IJnFc constant ki- netic value equal to （8.3--9.5）×10-5 cm/s for steady-state wave indicate that electrode process rate is limited by elec- trochemically active particle diffusion to the electrode. Nascent ditungstate ions become electrochemically active in the overall electrode process. Charge transfer stage is reversible.
