Objective and Impact *** propose an automated method of predicting Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus(NPH)from CT scans.A deep convolutional network segments regions of interest from the *** regions are then combined with MRI information to predict *** our knowledge,this is the first method which automatically predicts NPH from CT scans and incorporates diffusion tractography information for *** to their low cost and high versatility,CT scans are often used in NPH *** well-defined and effective protocol currently exists for analysis of CT scans for ***’index,an approximation of the ventricle to brain volume using one 2D image slice,has been proposed but is not *** proposed approach is an effective way to quantify regions of interest and offers a computational method for predicting *** propose a novel method to predict NPH by combining regions of interest segmented from CT scans with connectome data to compute features which capture the impact of enlarged ventricles by excluding fiber tracts passing through these *** segmentation and network features are used to train a model for NPH *** method outperforms the current state-of-the-art by 9 precision points and 29 recall *** segmentation model outperforms the current state-of-the-art in segmenting the ventricle,gray-white matter,and subarachnoid space in CT *** experimental results demonstrate that fast and accurate volumetric segmentation of CT brain scans can help improve the NPH diagnosis process,and network properties can increase NPH prediction accuracy.

The color of watermelon flesh is an important trait determined by a series of ***,we used Cream of Saskatchewan(pale yellow flesh)and PI 186490(white flesh)as parental materials for an F2 segregation and initial mapping using the bulked segregant analysis sequencing(BSA-seq)*** BSA results revealed a flesh colorrelated QTL that spans approximately 2.45 Mb on chromosome *** region was preliminarily positioned in a 382-kb segment,and then narrowed down into a 66.8-kb segment with 1260 F2 individuals.A total of nine candidate genes were in the fine mapping interval,but only Cla007528(encoding chlorophyllase)had non-synonymous mutations and was significantly expressed between the parental materials throughout flesh *** also checked the expression patterns of the carotenoid metabolic pathway genes based on RNA-seq data and qRT-PCR *** genes in the xanthophyll cycle(ClCHYB,ClNCED-1 and ClNCED-7)exhibited differential expression patterns between the two parental lines at different flesh color formation ***1,ClPDS,ClZDS,ClCHXE,ClCRTISO and ClLCYB also exhibited clearly different expression patterns accompanied by carotenoid accumulation.

Background:Due to absence of large,prospective,randomized,clinical trial data,the potential survivalbenefit of lymphadenectomy with different number of regional lymph nodes(LNs)remains *** aim to create a predicting model to help estimate individualized potential survival benefit oflymphadenectomy with more regional LNs for patients with resected gallbladder cancer(GBC).Methods:Patients with resected GBC were selected from the Surveillance,Epidemiology,and End Resultsdatabase who were diagnosed between 2004 and *** included age,race,sex,grade,histologicalstage,tumor sizes and receipt of non-primary *** types of multivariate survival regression modelswere constructed and *** best model performance was tested by the external validation data fromour ***:A total of 1,669 patients met the inclusion criteria for this *** lognormal survival modelshowed the best performance and was tested by the external validation data,including 193 patients withresected GBC from our ***,which based on the accelerated failure time parametricsurvival model,were built to estimate individualized survival.C-index,was up to 0.754 and 0.710 in internalvalidation for more and less regional LNs removed,*** of internal and external calibrationcurves showed good agreement between predicted and observed outcomes in the 1-,3-,and 5-year overallsurvival(OS).Conclusions:A predicting model can be used as a decision model to predict which patients may obtainbenefit from lymphadenectomy with more regional LNs.
