The scientific community is continuously working to translate the novel biomedical techniques into effective medical ***-Cas9 system(Clustered Regularly Interspaced Short Palindromic Repeats-9),commonly known as the“molecular scissor”,represents a recently developed biotechnology able to improve the quality and the efficacy of traditional treatments,related to several human diseases,such as chronic diseases,neurodegenerative pathologies and,interestingly,oral *** course,dental medicine has notably increased the use of biotechnologies to ensure modern and conservative approaches:in this landscape,the use of CRISPR-Cas9 system may speed and personalize the traditional therapies,ensuring a good predictability of clinical *** aim of this critical overview is to provide evidence on CRISPR efficacy,taking into specific account its applications in oral medicine.

Understanding the spatial interaction among residents,cooling service,and heat risk area in complex urban areas is conducive to developing targeted ***,traditional urban thermal environment assessments typically relied on simple linear integration of associated indicators,often neglecting the spatial interaction *** explore the spatial interaction among the three elements,this study proposes an accessibility-based urban thermal environment assessment *** Zhengzhou,a rapidly urbanizing city,as an example,remotely sensed images from three periods(2010,2015 and 2020)were applied to extract urban green space(UGS)and hot island area(HIA).An improved two-step floating catchment area(2SFCA)method and bivariate local Moran’s I were employed to explore whether residents’clustering locations are more likely to access cooling service or to be exposed to heat *** results demonstrate that the UGS in the city has been expanding,whereas the HIA shrank within the inner city in 2015 and then increased in *** though the urban thermal environment may have improved in the last decade,the spatial interaction among the residents,cooling service and heat risk area could be *** autocorrelation shows an increase in locations that are disadvantageous for resident *** when sufficient cooling services were provided,residents in these areas could still be exposed to high heat *** developed urban thermal environment framework provides a novel insight into the residents’heat risk exposure and cooling service accessibility,and the findings could assist urban planners in targeting the improvement of extra heat exposure risk locations.

We present a novel approach to transient Raman spectroscopy,which combines stochastic probe pulses and a covariance-based detection to measure stimulated Raman signals in alpha-quartz.A coherent broadband pump is used to simultaneously impulsively excite a range of different phonon modes,and the phase,amplitude,and energy of each mode are independently recovered as a function of the pump-probe delay by a noisy-probe and covariance-based *** experimental results and the associated theoretical description demonstrate the feasibility of 2D-Raman experiments based on the stochastic-probe schemes,with new capabilities not available in equivalent mean-value-based 2D-Raman *** work unlocks the gate for nonlinear spectroscopies to capitalize on the information hidden within the noise and overlooked by a mean-value analysis.

Microbial abundance and diversity of different life stages （fourth instar larvae, pupae and adults） of the diamondback moth, Plutella xylostella L., collected from field and reared in laboratory, were investigated using bacteria culture-dependent method and PCR-DGGE analysis based on the sequence of bacteria 16S rRNA V3 region gene. A large quantity of bacteria was found in all life stages ofP. xylostella. Field population had higher quantity of bacteria than laboratory population, and larval gut had higher quantity than pupae and adults. Culturable bacteria differed in different life stages ofP. xylostella. Twenty-five different bacterial strains were identified in total, among them 20 strains were presented in larval gut, only 8 strains in pupae and 14 strains in adults were detected. Firmicutes bacteria, Bacillus sp., were the most dominant species in every life stage. 15 distinct bands were obtained from DGGE electrophoresis gel. The sequences blasted in GenBank database showed these bacteria belonged to six different genera. Phylogenetic analysis showed the sequences of the bacteria belonged to the Actinobacteri, Proteobacteria and Firmicutes. Serratia sp. in Proteobacteria was the most abundant species in larval gut. In pupae, unculturable bacteria were the most dominant species, and unculturable bacteria and Serratia sp. were the most dominant species in adults. Our study suggested that a combination of molecular and traditional culturing methods can be effectively used to analyze and to determine the diversity of gut microflora. These known bacteria may play important roles in development of P. xylostella.

AIM: To investigate the effects of dextrans of various molecular weights (Mw) during a 12 h cold storage time-course on energetics, histology and mucosal infiltration of fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC)-dextran. METHODS: Rodent intestines were isolated and received a standard University of Wisconsin vascular flush followed by intraluminal administration of a nutrientrich preservation solution containing dextrans of varying Mw: Group D1, 73 kdal; Group D2, 276 kdal; Group D3, 534 kdal; Group D4, 1185 kdal; Group D5, 2400 kdal. RESULTS: Using FITC-labeled dextrans, fluorescent micrographs demonstrated varying degrees of mucosal infiltration; lower Mw (groups D1-D3: 73-534 kdal) dextrans penetrated the mucosa as early as 2 h, whereas the largest dextran (D5: 2400 kdal) remained captive within the lumen and exhibited no permeability even after 12 h. After 12 h, median injury grades ranged from 6.5 to 7.5 in groups D1-D4 (73-1185 kdal) representing injury of the regenerative cryptal regions and submucosa; this was in contrast to group D5 (2400 kdal) which exhibited villus denudation (with intact crypts) corresponding to a median injury grade of 4 (P 2400 kdal act as true impermeant agents during 12 h ischemic storage when incorporated into an intraluminal preservation solution.
