Fall is an event in which a person unintentionally descends onto the floor. It may lead to physical injuries, psychological harm and/or financial loses. Over the last three Financial Years 2009-201 l, there had been increasing fall incident rate at the unit level, Department of Internal Medicine and Haematology. The hospital fall performance target was set at 〈 one fall per 1000 patient days. Hence, there was a pressing need for improvement with an emphasis of focused analysis to prevent fall. The aim of the study was to reduce fall incidents by at least 50% at W53C and W77H in Financial Year 2012. The baseline fall incident data was collected from February 2011 to March 2012 for both wards. A total number of 33 falls with a median of 2.5 and 1.1 falls per 1000 patient days respectively were collected. The verification of root causes to fall incidences was identified in Pareto Chart. The 3 root causes were： Delayed elimination round, underestimated patients＇ risk for falls and lack of care coordination among team members. The solution implementations were： Cessation ofhardcopy of elimination chart and daily assessment of patient＇s fall risk using modified Morse Fall Scale was changed from paper to electronic. Conducting root cause analysis post fall and sharing near miss incidences were another two implementations to draw the learning points from the incidents to prevent the similar occurrence. Reallocation of staffassignment without increasing manpower to ensure better care coordination was the 5th solution. With the above stated multi-factorial interventions, a significant fall incidence rate was achieved. It had achieved 7% more than the target set for the project.

With strict measures in place to contain the spread of coronavirus disease 2019,many have been isolated as suspected or confirmed *** isolated causes much inconvenience for the patients and ***'and next-of-kins’needs and concerns during isolation will be shared together with suggestions for key process *** hospital’s Senior Patient Experience Managers contact all patients admitted to the isolation wards on a daily basis to provide some form of *** issues raised were gathered and strategies to help with their needs and concerns were *** in isolation is a challenging period for both patients and ***,we can implement measures to mitigate against the adverse effects of *** education,effective and efficient means of communication,close monitoring for signs of distress and anxiety,and early intervention could help patients cope better with the whole isolation *** management may want to consider implementing the measures shared in the article to manage patient’s stress while not compromising on staff safety.

Daily life movements such as standing, walking, and jumping need balance ability to achieve. Good balance control is closely related to the body stability and its development. According to medical research, people showing dizziness after taking drugs may have their balance ability substantially affected, and are more likely to fall, especially true to the elderly. This study proposes the combination of Kinect with virtual reality to build an information platform of interactive scenarios, for practices and evaluation on balance ability. Based on the indicators of balance ability, this platform sets out various training activities to improve the balance ability, making the supposedly boring process fun and vivid for a much better training purposes. Also, according to literatures, training with gaming patterns results in 30% reduction of falls. What’s more, this type of training can have the data, like time of use, scores, and joint postures, recorded and sent through network to databases on remote computer servers. The data collected from this platform can be sorted and analyzed, and the results can then be used to evaluate the performance of the balance training, and referenced for follow-up planning in the future.

Aim:The cytotoxic activities of a series of bis-aziridinylnaphthoquinone,AZ1 toAZ4,on human lung carcinoma cell lines,H460,and normal lung cells fibroblastcell line,MRC-5,and the mechanisms of H460 cells induced by AZ4 ***:The MTT assay was used to determine the *** cycle was analysed by *** activity of caspase 3,8 and 9was determined by cell-permeable fluorogenic detection *** blotassay was used to evaluate the regulation of cyclin B,Cdc-2,p53,p21,and the Bcl-2 ***:AZ1 to AZ4 displayed various cytotoxicity activities againstH460 and MRC-5 *** to those compounds,AZ4 was with the mosteffective agent among the 5 tested analogues at reducing H460 cell viability with anIC50value of 1.23 μmol/L;it also exhibited weak cytotoxicity against MRC-5 cells withan IC50value of 12.7 μmol/*** results show that growth arrest on the G2-M phaseof H460 cells induced by AZ4 for 24 h was discovered,and this might be alteredwith the reduced Cdc-2 protein expression of 47% at 2.0 μmol/L AZ4,but not withcyclin B protein *** AZ4 treated cells were then led to apoptosis after48 *** was associated with the activation of apoptotic enzyme caspase 3 andmediated by caspase 8,but not caspase 9 at various concentrations of AZ4 afterbeing cultured for 48 h and 30 h,*** anti-apoptotic protein （Bcl-2）expression in H460 cells altered by 39% with downregulation,and the p53 proteinby 25% with upregulation after being cultured with 2.0 μmol/L AZ4 for 48 *** atime-dependent wanrer,the expression of the p53 and p21 proteins were increasedto the maximum at 24 h,and then decreased at ***:AZ4 represents anovel antitumor aziridinylnaphthoquinone with therapeutic potential against thenon-small cell lung cancer cells.

编纂了台湾地区包括震源位置和震源参数的地震目录。选择的数据库用于建立与菲律宾海板块与欧亚板块俯冲和碰撞等各种构造运动有关的台湾地区三维地震形变模型。我们将整个台湾地区划分为10km间隔的三维网格,计算每个网格的地震矩释放量,即该网格内所有地震释放的地震矩总和。当一次地震的物理尺度超过网格尺寸10km时,相应的地震矩就分布在多个网格上。这种定量方法较好地描述了该地区地震矩释放的一级特征。值得注意的是,集集地震的发生,填充了震源区附近地震矩释放量在震前存在的明显不足。本文推测某个区域内地震矩分布的"不足—填充"模式可以应用于预测未来大地震的发生地点。根据这一观点,我们认为,集集地震可能会引起另外2次地震(北部的苗栗—新竹区和南部的嘉义区),这2次地震的破坏性及震级与集集地震类似,且靠近集集地震震源区。
