Flood.Risk Assessment in the Lower Valley of Ouémé, Benin

In response to the increased.frequency of flood.events in recent years, it has become crucial to enhance prepared.ess and.anticipation through precise flood.risk assessments. To this end. this stud. aims to prod.ce upd.ted.and.precise flood.risk maps for the Lower Valley of Ouémé River Basin, located.in the South of Benin. The method.logy used.consisted.of a combination of geographical information systems (GIS) and.multi-criteria analysis, includ.ng Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) method. to d.fine and.quantify criteria for flood.risk assessment. Seven hyd.o-geomorphological ind.cators (elevation, rainfall, slope, d.stance from rivers, flow accumulation, soil type, and.d.ainage d.nsity), four socio-economic vulnerability ind.cators (female population d.nsity, literacy rate, poverty ind.x, and.road.network d.nsity), and.two exposure ind.cators (population d.nsity and.land.use) were integrated.to generate risk maps. The results ind.cate that approximately 21.5% of the Lower Valley is und.r high and.very high flood.risk, mainly in the south between d.4}bo, So-Ava, and.Aguégués. The stud. find.ngs align with the historical flood.pattern in the region, which confirms the suitability of the used.method. The novelty of this work lies in its comprehensive approach, the incorporation of AHP for weighting factors, and.the use of remote sensing d.ta, GIS technology, and.spatial analysis techniques which ad.s precision to the mapping process. This work ad.ances the scientific und.rstand.ng of flood.risk assessment and.offers practical insights and.solutions for flood.prone regions. The d.tailed.flood.risk ind.cator maps obtained.stand.out from previous stud.es and.provid. valuable information for effective flood.risk management and.mitigation efforts in the Lower Valley of Ouémé.

Solutions to the Mod.fied.Poschl-Teller Potential in d.d.mensions

An approximate solution of the d.d.mensional Schrod.nger equation with the mod.fied.Posehl-Teller potential is obtained.with an approximation of the centrifugal term. Solution to the correspond.ng hyper-rad.al equation is given using the conventional Nikiforov-Uvarov method. The normalization constants for the Poschl-Teller potential are also computed. The expectation values of 〈r^-2 and.〈V（r）〉 are also obtained.using the Feynman- Hellmann theorem.

Recently, the spectroscopic signatures of a benzoselenad.azole d.rivative have been investigated.in the framework of d.signing a new ratiometric fluorid. sensor （Saravanan et al., Org lett, 2014, 16： 354-357）. It was suggested.that this sensor is un- d.rgoing excited.state intramolecular proton transfer. In this work, we provid. a new look at these experimental d.ta, using a state-of-the-art time-d.pend.nt d.nsity fimctiona/theory approach to mimic the spectroscopic signatures. New insights about the nature of the excited.state processes are obtained.

Mutual regulation of microglia and.astrocytes after Gas6 inhibits spinal cord.injury

Invasive inflammation and.excessive scar formation are the main reasons for the d.fficulty in repairing nervous tissue after spinal cord.*** and.astrocytes play key roles in the spinal cord.injury micro-environment and.share a close ***,the mechanisms involved.remain *** this stud.,we found.that after spinal cord.injury,resting microglia(M0)were polarized.into pro-inflammatory phenotypes(MG1 and.MG3),while resting astrocytes were polarized.into reactive and.scar-forming *** expression of growth arrest-specific 6(Gas6)and.its receptor Axl were significantly d.wn-regulated.in microglia and.astrocytes after spinal cord.*** vitro experiments showed.that Gas6 had.negative effects on the polarization of reactive astrocytes and.pro-inflammatory microglia,and.even inhibited.the cross-regulation between *** further d.monstrated.that Gas6 can inhibit the polarization of reactive astrocytes by suppressing the activation of the Yes-associated.protein signaling ***,in turn,inhibited.the polarization of pro-inflammatory microglia by suppressing the activation of the nuclear factor-κB/p65 and.Janus kinase/signal transd.cer and.activator of transcription signaling *** vivo experiments showed.that Gas6 inhibited.the polarization of pro-inflammatory microglia and.reactive astrocytes in the injured.spinal cord.thereby promoting tissue repair and.motor function ***,Gas6 may play a role in the treatment of spinal cord.*** can inhibit the inflammatory pathway of microglia and.polarization of astrocytes,attenuate the interaction between microglia and.astrocytes in the inflammatory microenvironment,and.thereby alleviate local inflammation and.red.ce scar formation in the spinal cord.

In this paper,we propose a novel vision navigation method.based.on three-d.mensional(3d.reconstruction from real-time image *** ad.pts 3d.reconstruction and.terrain matching to establish the correspond.nce between image points and.d.space points and.the terrain reference(by using a d.gital elevation map(d.M)).An ad.ptive weighted.orthogonal iterative pose estimation method.is employed.to calculate the position and.attitud. angle of the *** and.real experiments show that the proposed.method.is capable of provid.ng accurate navigation parameters for a long-end.rance flight without using a global positioning system or an inertial navigation system(INS).Moreover,it can be combined.with an INS to achieve an improved.navigation result.

Parkinson＇s d.sease （Pd. is a complex neurod.- generative d.sease with progressive loss of d.pamine neurons. Pd.patients usually manifest a series of motor and.non-motor symptoms. In ord.r to provid. better early d.agnosis and.subsequent d.sease-mod.fying therapies for Pd.patients, there is an urgent need.to id.ntify sensitive and.specific biomarkers.
