Thanks to the emerging integration of algorithms and simulators, recent driving Simulators (dS) find enormous potential in applications like advanced driver-assistance devices, analysis of driver’s behaviours, research and development of new vehicles and even for entertainment purposes. driving simulators have been developed to reduce the cost of field studies, allow more flexible control over circumstances and measurements, and safely present hazardous conditions. The major challenge in a driving simulator is to reproduce realistic motions within hardware constraints. Motion Cueing Algorithm (MCA) guarantees a realistic motion perception in the simulator. However, the complex nature of the human perception system makes MCA implementation challenging. The present research aims to improve the performance of driving simulators by proposing and implementing the MCA algorithm as a control problem. The approach is realized using an actual vehicle model integrated with a detailed model of the human vestibular system, which accurately reproduces the driver’s perception. These perception motion signals are compared with simulated ones. A 2-dOF stabilized platform model is used to test the results from the two proposed control strategies, Proportional Integrator and derivative (PId) and Model Predictive Control (MPC).

Spruce-dominated forests are commonly exposed to disturbances associated with mass occurrences of bark *** dieback of trees triggers many physical and chemical processes in the ecosystem resulting in rapid changes in the vegetation of the lower forest *** aimed to determine the response of non-tree understory vegetation to the mass dieback of Norway spruce(Picea abies)in the first years after the disturbance caused by the European spruce bark beetle(Ips typographus)*** study area was the Białowieża Biosphere Reserve covering the Polish part of the emblematic Białowieża Forest,in total 597km^(2).The main data source comprised 3,900 phytosociological relevés(combined spring and summer campaigns)collected from 1,300 systematically distributed forest sites in 2016–2018–the peak years of the bark beetle *** found that the understory responded immediately to mass spruce dieback,with the most pronounced changes observed in the year of the disturbance and the subsequent ***-tolerant forest species declined in the initial years following the mass spruce dieback,while hemicryptophytes,therophytes,light-demanding species associated with non-forest seminatural communities,as well as water-demanding forest species,*** acetosella,the most common understory species in the Białowieża Forest,showed a distinct fluctuation pattern,with strong short-term expansion right after spruce dieback,followed by a gradual decline over the next 3–4 years to a cover level 5 percentage points lower than before the ***,our study revealed that mass spruce dieback selectively affects individual herb species,and their responses can be directional and non-directional(fluctuation).Furthermore,we demonstrated that the mass dieback of spruce temporarily increases plant species diversity(α-diversity).

Purpose:Subthreshold micropulse laser(SML)and photodynamic therapy(PdT)are among the most effective therapeutic modalities applied to central serous chorioretinopathy(CSCR).This study aimed to evaluate the ef-ficacy and durability of PdT in CSCR cases unresponsive to at least two SML ***:The study included 26 consecutive eyes of 24 patients(21 males and three females)with chronic *** all cases,a lack of reduction in subretinal fluid(SRF)levels was noted after at least two consecutive SML *** parameters of best corrected visual acuity(BCVA)and spectral domain optical coherence tomog-raphy(Sd-OCT)were evaluated at baseline and 1,3 and 12 months ***:The mean duration of symptoms in the group was 53.81±39.48 months,the mean age of the patients was 49.26±12.91 years,and the mean subfoveal choroidal thickness(SFCT)was 572.11±116.21 *** resorption of SRF was observed in 21 out of 26 eyes(80.77%)at 1 month and sustained in 18 cases(69.23%)at 12 *** 12 months,in the sustained group,BCVA improved significantly from 0.39±0.18 to 0.19±0.2 logMAR(P=0.01),central subfoveal thickness(CST)reduced from 316.44±75.83 mm to 197.67±22.99 mm(P1),and SFCT reduced from 579.28 mm to 446.78 mm(P1).Conclusions:PdT provides the opportunity for the successful treatment of CSCR unresponsive to SML *** are possible even in cases with a long duration of symptoms and significant alterations in retinal ***,PdT should be considered for patients with prominently increased choroidal thickness.

Undoubtedly,the enormous progress observed in recent years in the Ni-rich layered cathode materials has been crucial in terms of pushing boundaries of the Li-ion battery(LIB)*** achieved improvements in the energy density,cyclability,charging speed,reduced costs,as well as safety and stability,already contribute to the wider adoption of LIBs,which extends nowadays beyond mobile electronics,power tools,and electric vehicles,to the new range of applications,including grid storage *** numerous published papers and broad reviews already available on the subject of Ni-rich oxides,this review focuses more on the most recent progress and new ideas presented in the literature *** covered topics include doping and composition optimization,advanced coating,concentration gradient and single crystal materials,as well as innovations concerning new electrolytes and their modification,with the application of Ni-rich cathodes in solid-state batteries also *** cathode materials are briefly mentioned,with the high-entropy approach and zero-strain concept presented as well.A critical overview of the still unresolved issues is given,with perspectives on the further directions of studies and the expected gains provided.

A non-invasive method to estimate the number of Trypodendron lineatum holes on dead standing pines(Pinus sylvestris L.)was developed using linear and nonlinear estimations.A clas sical linear regres sion model was first used to analyze the relationship between the number of holes caused by *** on selected stem units and the total number of holes on an entire dead stem of ***,to obtain a better fit of the regression function to the data for the stem unit selected in the first step,piecewise linear regression(PLR)was ***,in an area used to evaluate wood decomposition(method validation),the total and mean numbers of *** holes were estimated for single dead trees and for a sample(n=8 dead trees).data were collected in 2009(data set d1),in 2010-2014(data set d2)and in 2020(data set d3)in forests containing *** located within Suchedniow-Oblegorek Landscape Park,Poland.A model was constructed with three linear *** evaluation of model accuracy showed that it was highly effective regardless of the density of *** holes and sample *** method enables the evaluation of the biological role of this species in the decomposition of dead standing wood of *** in strictly protected areas.

In some worldwide hard coal basins recovery of methane from virgin coal beds is difficult. In general,mentioned difficulties are related to geo-mechanical, petrographical and physical-chemical properties of coals in question, occurring for example in the Bowen Basin(Australia) or the Upper Silesian Coal Basin(Poland). Among numerous properties and parameters, the following are very essential: susceptibility of coal beds to deformation connected with coal stress state change and contemporary shrinkage of the coal matrix during methane desorption. Those adverse geo-mechanical and physical-chemical effects are accompanied by essential change of the porous coal structure, which under these disadvantageous conditions is very complex. This study aims to show difficulties, which occur in phase of recognition of the methane-reach coal deposit. Volume absorbed methane(not surface adsorbed) in sub-micropores having minimal size comparable with gas molecule diameter must possess energy allowing separation of the nodes and methane release to micropores.
