Impacts of Quaternary environmental changes on mammal faunas of central Asia remain poorly understood due to a lack of comprehensive phylogeographic sampling for most *** help address this knowledge gap,we conducted the most extensive molecular analysis to date of the long-tailed ground squirrel （Urocitellus undulatus Pallas 1778） in Mongolia,a country that comprises the southern core of this species＇ *** on material from recent collaborative field expeditions,we genotyped 128 individuals at two mitochondrial genes （cytochrome b and cytochrome oxidase Ⅰ;1797 bp total）.Phylogenetic inference supports the existence of two deeply divergent infraspecific lineages （corresponding to subspecies *** and ***）,a result in agreement with previous molecular investigations but discordant with patterns of range-wide craniometric and external phenotypic *** the widespread western eversmanni lineage,we recovered geographically-associated clades from the：（a） Khangai,（b） Mongolian Altai,and （c） Govi Altai mountain *** structure in *** is consistent with an isolation-by-distance model;however,genetic distances are significantly lower than among subspecies,and intra-clade relationships are largely *** latter patterns,as well as the relatively higher nucleotide polymorphism of populations from the Great Lakes Depression of northwestern Mongolia,suggest a history of range shifts into these lowland areas in response to Pleistocene glaciation and environmental change,followed by upslope movements and mitochondrial lineage sorting with Holocene *** study illuminates possible historical mechanisms responsible for *** genetic structure and contributes to a framework for ongoing exploration of mammalian response to past and present climate change in central Asia.

The variety of newly synthesized diamides of dipicolinic acid(DPA)bearing methyl-and oxymethyl substituents in various positions of phenyl ring was investigated as potential ligands for liquid-liquid extraction of rare earth metal ions and as membrane active compounds in plasticized polymeric membranes of potentiometric *** is found that scandium is extracted with 2,6-pyridinedicarboxylic acid diamides similarly to heavy lanthanides,while yttrium is extracted together with light group *** shows high selectivity for the separation of cadmium/zinc,lead/nickel or copper/nickel *** four out of six studied ligands demonstrate significant potentiometric sensitivity towards scandium,yttrium and lanthanides in 10^(-7)-10^(-3)mol/L concentration range in nitric acid *** trends in sensitivity values vary depending on a ligand structure and the highest values are observed for Sc^(3+)and heavy *** to the evaluated selectivity Sm^(3+)is the most preferred ion,while La^(3+)is the most *** differences in sensor behavior in rare earth metal solutions assume that such devices can be applied in sensor arrays for potentiometric analysis of lanthanide mixtures.

Heavy-metal-free silver based I-III-VI semiconductor nanocrystals(NCs),including ternary silver indium sulfide(AgInS_(2))and derivative quaternary silver indium zinc sulfide(i.e.,AgInZn_(2)S_(4))NCs,possess advantages of low toxicity,and size-tunable band gaps approaching near-infrared spectral range,which make them candidates for use in optoelectronic and biological ***,we report syntheses of AgInS_(2) based NCs starting from In_(2)S_(3) template,which have been performed both in organic and aqueous phase through cation *** a result,ternary silver indium sulfide and quaternary silver indium zinc sulfide NCs are obtained in both organic and aqueous media,and confirmed to be orthorhombic AgInS_(2) NCs and hexagonal AgInZn_(2)S_(4) NCs,***,the aqueous AgInZn_(2)S_(4) NCs with red emission and low cytotoxicity are explored for the cancer cell imaging.

Battery energy storage systems（BESS） are widely used in wind power systems to improve the dispatchability of wind power. In this paper, a wind power trading strategy using controllable BESS is presented to maximize the profit of wind power plants. A dynamic programming algorithm is produced to control the operation of BESS based on forecasted wind power, electricity price and battery lifetime estimation. The aim is to charge/discharge the BESS over different electricity price periods to generate higher income, and the use of battery lifetime estimation in the algorithm is to solve suitable discharge currents and depth of discharges that minimize the battery lifetime consumption, therefore reducing the cost of BESS. The algorithm is flexible and can be implemented to batteries with different specifications. It is tested with commercial battery data available online and real wind energy data from wind farms.

The practice of building and operating of railroad beds shows that the greatest attenuation of soils occurs in the spring, during their Iransifion from the frozen to thawed state. The geatest influences on the properties of clay soils that form the railway are from hydration, fieeze-thaw cycles and vibrodynamic impact of Wains. The increase in soil moisture is due to infillration of water into the ground, as well as the rise in water level due to soil redistribution during winter freezes. This can dramatically alter the basic characteristics of the soil, such as shear resistance and bulk density, on which strength and stability of soil mass depend primarily. Therefore, the degree of railway bed stability is not constant, but varies with time.
