Real-ti.e decay of fluori.ated fullerene molecules on Cu（001） surface controlled by i.i.i.l coverage

i. thi. study, the evoluti.n of C60F18 molecules on a Cu（001） surface was studi.d by means of scanni.g tunneli.g mi.roscopy and densi.y functi.nal theory calculati.ns. The results showed that fluori.ated fuUerenes （tortoi.e-shaped polar C60F18） decay on Cu（001） surfaces by a step-by-step detachment of F atoms from the C60 cage. The most favorable adsorpti.n confi.urati.n was reali.ed when the F atoms of C60F18 poi.ted towards the Cu surface and si. F atoms were detached from i.. The results also showed that a further decay of C60F12 molecules strongly depended on the i.i.i.l C60F18 coverage. The detached F atoms i.i.i.lly formed a two-di.ensi.nal （2D） gas phase whi.h then slowly transformed i.to F-i.duced surface structures. The degree of contact between the C60F12 molecules and the Cu（001） surface depended on the densi.y of the 2D gas phase. Hence, the li.e-ti.e of fluori.ated fullerenes was determi.ed by the densi.y of the 2D gas phase, whi.h was affected by the formati.n of new F-i.duced structures and the decay of C60F12 molecules.

The si.ultaneous formati.on of si.gle domai.(3×3)and multi.domai.n(√7×√7)R(±19.1°)germa nene phases on Al(111)surface i. thesub-monolayer range was studi.d usi.g seanni.g tunneli.g mi.roscopy(STM)and densi.y functi.nal theory(DFT)based *** results revealed that both germa nene phases nu cleate and grow i. dependently from each other and regardless of Al substratetemperature wi.hi. si.ni.i.antly expanded range Ts=27-200℃.Our results unambi.uously showed that STM i.ages wi.h hexagonalcontrast yi.ld correct-resolved structure for both germanene phases,whi.e honeycomb contrast i. a result of an arti.i.i.l ti.-i.duced STM ***-pri.ci.les calculati.ns suggested atomi. models wi.h strongly buckled germanene(2×2)/Al(111)(3×3)and(√3×√3)R30°/Al(111)(√7×√7)R(±19.1°)wi.h one of ei.ht and one of si. Ge atoms protrudi.g upward respecti.ely,that consi.tently descri.e the experi.entally observed STM i.ages both for si.gle and multi.domai.n surface *** to the DFT based si.ulati.ons both germa nene(2×2)and(√3×√3)R30°superstructures have a stretched latti.e strai. wi.h respect to the i.eal free-standi.g germa nene by 6.2%and 13.9%,***,numerous small domai.s separated by domai. boundari.s i. the(√3×√3)R30°/Al(111)(√7×√7)R(±19.1°)germanenephase tend to reduce the surface energy and prevent the formati.n of extended si.gle domai.s,i. contrast to the(2×2)/Al(111)(3×3)***,our experi.ental results showed that the nucleati.n and growth of germa nene on Al(111)surface yi.ld strong modi.i.ati.ns of Alsurface even at room temperature(RT),whi.h may be contri.uted to the formati.n of Al-Ge alloy due to Ge surface soli.-states reacti.i.ythat was i.nored i. recent *** i. already evi.ent from our present fi.di.gs that the role of Al atoms i. the formati.n of(3×3)and(√7×√7)R(±19.1°)germa nene phases i. worthy to be carefully studi.d i. the future,whi.h could be an i.portant knowledge for large-quanti.yfabri.ati.n of germane

The results of an experi.ent on di.charges i. long atmospheri. pressure ai. gaps at a pulsed voltage of ampli.ude up to 800 kV and ri.eti.e 150-200 ns are analyzed. i. the experi.ent, a radi.ti.n pulse of photon energy 〉 5 keV and durati.n 10-20 ns has been detected. i. has been shown that the x-ray pulse i. due to the ＂runaway＂ of electrons from the head of an anode-di.ected streamer. The esti.ated maxi.um bremsstrahlung energy i. about 5-10 keV. The presence of a maxi.um i. the bremsstrahlung spectrum i. due to that the photons emi.ted by electrons are absorbed by atoms of the gas i. whi.h the di.charge operates.

We present a study of the i.clusi.e photon spectra from 5.9 mi.li.n J/ψ decays collected wi.h the KEDR detector at the VEPP-4M e＋e colli.er. We measure the branchi.g fracti.n of radi.ti.e decay J/ψ→ηcγ, ηc wi.th and mass. Our preli.i.ary results are： M（ηc） = 2979.4± 1.5 ± 1.9 MeV/c^2, Г（ηc） = 27.8±5.1 ±3.3 MeV, B（Jψ→ηcγ） = （2.34±0.15±0.40）%.
