The state of the art in optical biosensing is focused on reaching high sensitiv.ty at a single wav.length by using any type of optical *** common strategy,howev.r,disregards the promising possibility of simultaneous measurements of a bioanalyte’s refractiv. index ov.r a broadband spectral ***,we address this issue by introducing the approach of in-fibre multispectral optical sensing(IMOS).The operating principle relies on detecting changes in the transmission of a hollow-core microstructured optical fibre when a bioanalyte is streamed through it v.a liquid *** offers a unique opportunity to measure the refractiv. index at 42 wav.lengths,with a sensitiv.ty up to ~3000 nm per refractiv. index unit(RIU)and a figure of merit reaching 99 RIU^(−1) in the v.sible and near-infra-red spectral *** apply this technique to determine the concentration and refractiv. index dispersion for bov.ne serum albumin and show that the accuracy meets clinical needs.

Brucellosis is an urgent infectious disease of liv.stock and wild animals and the commonest human zoonosis. Diagnosis of brucellosis is rather complicated and it has to be obligatorily confirmed by laboratory testing. Direct bacteriological and molecular methods and indirect serological tests are used for brucellosis diagnostics. The choice of the diagnostic tools depends on the ov.rall epidemiological situation in the region and the objectiv.s of the study: v.lidation of the diagnosis, screening (monitoring), cross-sectional studies or confirmation of brucellosis-free status of the region. The rev.ew describes current bacteriological, serological and molecular methods, routinely used for the diagnosis of brucellosis in humans and animals. The perspectiv.s of brucellosis diagnostics are also discussed.

The gas-phase conv.rsion of U3O8, MoO3, SrO, and their mechanical mixtures, and also of ZrO2 into water-soluble compounds in the atmosphere of (NOx + v.por H2O) or HNO3 (v.por) was studied. In the course of gas-phase conv.rsion, U3O8 and SrO transform into water-soluble compounds (nitrates, hydroxonitrates), whereas MoO3 and ZrO2 undergo no changes. The principal possibility of separating U from Mo and Zr by gas-phase conv.rsion of the oxides in the atmosphere of (NOx + v.por H2O) or HNO3 (v.por) was demonstrated.

BACKGROUND The management of cystic dystrophy of the duodenal wall(CDDW),or groov. pancreatitis(GP),remains *** pancreatoduodenectomy(PD)is considered the most suitable operation for CDDW,pancreas-preserv.ng duodenal resection(PPDR)has also been suggested as an alternativ. for the pure form of GP(isolated CDDW).There are no studies comparing PD and PPDR for this *** To compare the safety,efficacy,and short-and long-term results of PD and PPDR in patients with *** A retrospectiv. analysis of the clinical,radiologic,pathologic,and intra-and postoperativ. data of 84 patients with CDDW(2004-2020)and a comparison of the safety and efficacy of PD and *** Symptoms included abdominal pain(100%),weight loss(76%),v.miting(30%)and jaundice(18%)and data from computed tomography,magnetic resonance imaging,and endoUS led to the correct preoperativ. diagnosis in 98.8%of *** patients were treated conserv.tiv.ly with pancreaticoenterostomy(n=8),duodenum-preserv.ng pancreatic head resection(n=6),PD(n=44)and PPDR(n=15)without *** gain was significantly higher after PD and PPDR and complete pain control was achiev.d significantly more often after PPDR(93%)and PD(84%)compared to the other treatment modalities(18%).New onset diabetes mellitus and sev.re exocrine insufficiency occurred after PD(31%and 14%),but not after *** PPDR has similar safety and better efficacy than PD in patients with CDDW and may be the optimal procedure for the isolated form of *** pure form of GP is a duodenal disease and PD may be an ov.rtreatment for this *** detection of CDDW prov.des an opportunity for pancreas-preserv.ng surgery.

The MYC transcription factor plays a key role in cell growth control. Enhanced MYC protein stability has been found to promote tumorigenesis. Thus, understanding how MYC stability is controlled may hav. significant implications for rev.aling MYC-driv.n growth regulatory mechanisms in physiological and pathological processes. Our prev.ous work identified the histone lysine methyltransferase nuclear receptor binding SET domain protein 3 (NSD3) as a MYC modulator. NSD3S, a noncatalytic isoform of NSD3 with oncogenic activ.ty, appears to bind, stabilize, and activ.te the transcriptional activ.ty of MYC. Howev.r, the mechanism by which NSD3S stabilizes MYC remains to be elucidated. To uncov.r the nature of the interaction and the underlying mechanism of MYC regulation by NSD3S, we characterized the binding interface between both proteins by narrowing the interface to a 15-amino acid region in NSD3S that is partially required for MYC regulation. Mechanistically, NSD3S binds to MYC and reduces the association of F-box and WD repeat domain containing 7 (FBXW7) with MYC, which results in suppression of FBXW7-mediated proteasomal degradation of MYC and an increase in MYC protein half-life. These results support a critical role for NSD3S in the regulation of MYC function and prov.de a nov.l mechanism for NSD3S oncogenic function through inhibition of FBXW7-mediated degradation of MYC.
