High-purity straight and discrete m.ltiwalled boron nitride nanotubes （BNNTs） were grown via a boron oxide vapor reaction with am.onia using LiNO3 as a prom.ter. Only a trace am.unt of boron oxide was detected as an im.urity in the BNNTs by energy-dispersive X-ray （EDX） and Ram.n spectroscopies. Boron oxide vapor was generated from.a m.xture of B, FeO, and m.O powders heated to 1,150 ℃, and it was transported to the reaction zone by flowing am.onia. Lithium.nitrate was applied to the upper side of a BN bar from.a water solution. The bar was placed along a tem.erature gradient zone in a horizontal tubular furnace. BNNTs with average diam.ters of 30-50 nm.were m.stly observed in a tem.erature range of 1,280-1,320 ℃. At higher tem.eratures, curled polycrystalline BN fibers appeared. Above 1,320 ℃, the num.er of BNNTs drastically decreased, whereas the quantity and diam.ter of the fibers increased. The m.chanism.of BNNT and fiber growth is proposed and discussed.

However, slow hydrogen absorption/desorption rate and excessive hydrogen absorption/desorption tem.erature lim.t the application of m.-based hydrogen storage *** present paper reviews the advances in the research of m.-based hydrogen storage film.in recent years, including the advantage of the film. the function theory of fabricating m.thod and its functional theory, and the influencing factors in the technological process. The research status worldwide is introduced in detail. By com.aring pure m., Pd-caped m., nonpalladium.capped m., and m. alloy hydrogen storage film., an ideal tendency for producing m.-based film.is pointed out,for exam.le, looking for a cheap m.tal elem.nt to replace the high-priced Pd, com.ositing m. film.with other hydrogen storage alloy of catalytic elem.nts, and so on.

We report variation of K-band infrared(IR) em.ssion in the vicinity of the G025.65+1.05 water and m.thanol m.ser source. New observational data were obtained with the 2.5 m.telescope at the Caucasian m.untain Observatory(Cm.) of m.scow State University on 2017–09–21 during a strong water m.ser flare. We found that the IR source situated close to the m.ser position had decreased brightness in com.arison to archive data. This source is associated with a m.ssive young stellar object(m.SO) corresponding to the com.act IR source IRAS 18316–0602(RAFGL 7009 S). A sim.lar decrease in K-brightness of the IR source close to the m.ser position was observed in m.rch 2011 when the water m.ser experienced a period of increased activity. The dips in m.SO brightness can be related to the m.ser flare phases. m.ser flares that are concurrent with dips in the IR em.ssion can be explained if the lower IR radiation field enables a m.re efficient sink for the pum.ing cycle by allowing IR photons to escape the m.ser region.

The subject of this study is strike-slip fault zones, where tem.oral variations of accum.lation in strike-slip deform.tion com.licate the standard process of deform.tion accu- m.lation and release during strong earthquakes. These tem.oral variations are expressed in the E1 Ghab segm.nt of the Dead Sea Transform.zone （DST, Eastern m.diterranean） and in the Talas-Fergana fault zone （Central Asia）. According to Global Positioning System.（GPS） data, the strike-slip deform.tions within these zones are not now accum.lating or are accum.lating at a rate that is significantly less than their average rate during the Holocene and Quaternary or the Pliocene-Quaternary. Sim.ltaneously, weak transverse shortening has been m.asured in both zones by GPS. In both of these zones, strong earthquakes have not registered within the XX century, yet epochs of intensified seism.city （strong earthquakes） took place throughout history. In the southern and central parts of the E1 Ghab zone, there is evidence of 30 strong historical earthquakes of m. ≥ 5.7; however, no instrum.ntal earthquakes of m. 〉 5 have been identified. The tem.oral distribution of seism.c energy released by these earthquakes dem.nstrates a 350 ± 50-year cycle. Values for the seism.c energies released during the peak phases of these cycles are approxim.ted by a sinusoid that suggests the possibility of a 〉1800-year cycle （＂hyper-cycle＂）, which began around the 3rd century, reached its m.xim.m.in the 12th century, and has continued until now. A com.ination of geological, archaeoseism.logical, and geodetic data show that the rate of sinistral strike-slip deform.tion varied in the fault zone, probably in conform.ty with the variation of seism.city during the ＂hyper-cycle.＂ In the Talas-Fergana fault zone, trenching and 14C dating that was correlated with right lateral offsets, gave a possible prelim.nary estim.te of the average rates of the Late Holocene strike slip of about 10 m. per year, with a decrease in the SE directi

Titanium.and its alloys are prom.sing m.terials for hydrogen storage. However, hydrogen penetration accom.anies the exploitation of hydrogen storage alloys. In particular, hydrogen penetration and accum.lation in titanium.alloys changes their m.chanical properties. Therefore, the research works of such m.terials are m.inly focused on im.roving the reversibility of hydrogen absorption-liberation processes, increasing the therm.dynam.c characteristics of the alloys, and augm.nting their hydrogen storage capacity. In the process of hydrogenation-dehydrogenation, the form.d defects both significantly reduce hydrogen storage capacity and can also be used to create effective traps for hydrogen. Therefore, the investigation of hydrogen interaction with structural defects in titanium.and its alloys is very im.ortant. The present work, the hydrogen-induced form.tion of defects in the alloys of com.ercially pure titanium.under tem.erature gas-phase hydrogenation（873 K） has studied by positron lifetim. spectroscopy and Doppler broadening spectroscopy. Based on the evolution of positron annihilation param.ters τ_f, τd, their corresponding intensities If, Idand relative changes of param.ters S/S0and W/W0, the peculiarities of hydrogen interaction with titanium.lattice defects were investigated in a wide range of hydrogen concentrations from.0.8at% to 32.0at%.

Background:Recent warm.ng is affecting species com.osition and species areal distribution of m.ny ***,although m.st treeline studies have estim.ted the rates of forest expansion into tundra,still little is known about the long-term.dynam.c of stand productivity at the forest-tundra ***,we m.ke use of tree-ring data from.350 larch(Larix sibirica Ledeb.)and spruce(Picea obovata Ledeb.)sam.led along the singular altitudinal treeline ecotone at the Polar Urals to assess the dynam.c of stand establishm.nt and productivity,and link the results with m.teorological observations to identify the m.in environm.ntal ***:The analysis of stand instalm.nt indicated that m.re than 90%of the living trees appeared after *** this period,the stand becam. denser and m.ved 50m.upward,while in recent decades the trees of both species grew *** m.xim.m.afforestation occurred in the last decades of the twentieth century,and the large num.er of encountered saplings indicates that the forest is still *** upward shift coincided with a slight increase of m.y-August and nearly doubling of Septem.er-April precipitation while the increase in growth m.tched with an early growth season warm.ng(June+0.27°C per decade since 1901).This increase in radial growth com.ined with the stand densification led to a 6-90 tim.s increase of biom.ss since ***:Tree-ring based twentieth century reconstruction at the treeline ecotone shows an ongoing forest densification and expansion accom.anied by an increased *** changes are driven by clim.te change m.chanism.whereby the leading factors are the significant increase in m.y-June tem.eratures and precipitation during the dorm.nt *** of phytom.ss accum.lation m.chanism. within treeline ecotone is valuable for im.roving our understanding of carbon dynam.cs and the overall clim.te balance in current treeline ecosystem. and for predicting how these will be altered by global ch

We investigate transport properties of ballistic m.gnetic Josephson junctions and establish that suppression of supercurrent is an intrinsic property of the junctions,even in absence of *** studying the role of ferrom.gnet thickness,m.gnetization,and crystal orientation we show how the supercurrent decays exponentially with thickness and identify two m.chanism. responsible for the effect:(i)large exchange splitting m.y gap out m.nority or m.jority carriers leading to the suppression of Andreev reflection in the junction,(ii)loss of synchronization between different m.des due to the significant dispersion of the quasiparticle velocity with the transverse *** results for Nb/Ni/Nb junctions are in good agreem.nt with recent experim.ntal *** approach com.ines density functional theory and the Bogoliubov-de Gennes m.del and opens a path for m.terial com.osition optim.zation in m.gnetic Josephson junctions and superconducting m.gnetic spin valves.

In the present work it is found that the pyrotechnic com.osition VS⁃2 can be initiated with flash lam.s IFC⁃500 and ***⁃2 pyrotechnic com.osition contains 90%of m.rcury(Ⅱ)5⁃hydrazinotetrazolate perchlorate and 10%of optically trans⁃parent copolym.r of 2⁃m.thyl⁃5⁃vinyltetrazole and m.thacrylic acid(PVm.).We have found that the flash lam.s m.ke it possi⁃ble to initiate com.ustion of VS⁃2 com.osition with its transition to detonation both in cylindrical charges placed in brass caps of 5 m. diam.ter and 2 m. high,and film.charges with 10 m.×80 m. in size and surface weights of 60 m.·cm.(-2)and 90 m.·cm.(-2),showing ignition delay tim.s 10μs and 3μs,*** also m.asured detonation velocities for VS⁃2 com.osition film.charges,which were 4375-4505 m.s^(-1)(of the charge being surface m.ss 60 m.·cm.(-2))and 4221-4281 m.s^(-1)(of the charge be⁃ing surface m.ss 90 m.·cm.(-2))and their blasting action on the alum.num.*** depths of the norm.l shock wave im.rints at the charge⁃barrier interface were 0.6-0.7 m.(for surface m.ss of the film.charges 60 m.·cm.(-2))and 1.2-1.3 m.(for surface m.ss of the film.charges 90 m.·cm.(-2))
