Despite substantial prog.ess in the treatment of c.stration-resistant prostate c.nc.r (c.Pc., inc.uding.radiation therapy and immunotherapy alone or in c.mbination, the response to treatment remains poor due to the hypoxic.and immunosuppressive nature of the tumor mic.oenvironment. Herein, we exploited the bioreac.ivity of novel polymer–lipid mang.nese dioxide nanopartic.es (PLMDs) to remodel the tumor immune mic.oenvironment (TIME) by inc.easing.the loc.l oxyg.n levels and extrac.llular pH and enhanc.ng.radiation-induc.d immunog.nic.c.ll death. This study demonstrated that PLMD treatment sensitized hypoxic.human and murine c.Pc.c.lls to radiation, sig.ific.ntly inc.easing.radiation-induc.d DNA double-strand breaks and ultimately c.ll death, whic. enhanc.d the sec.etion of damag.-assoc.ated molec.lar patterns, attributable to the induc.ion of autophag. and endoplasmic.retic.lum stress. Reoxyg.nation via PLMDs also polarized hypoxic.murine RAW264.7 mac.ophag.s toward the M1 phenotype, enhanc.ng.tumor nec.osis fac.or alpha release, and thus reduc.ng.the viability of murine c.Pc.TRAMP-c. c.lls. In a syng.neic.TRAMP-c. tumor model, intravenous injec.ion of PLMDs suppressed, while radiation alone enhanc.d rec.uitment of reg.latory T c.lls and myeloid-derived suppressor c.lls. Pretreatment with PLMDs followed by radiation down-reg.lated prog.ammed death-lig.nd 1 and promoted the infiltration of antitumor c.8+ T c.lls and M1 mac.ophag.s to tumor sites. Taken tog.ther, TIME modulation by PLMDs plus radiation profoundly delayed tumor g.owth and prolong.d median survival c.mpared with radiation alone. These results sug.est that PLMDs plus radiation is a promising.treatment modality for improving.therapeutic.effic.c. in radioresistant and immunosuppressive solid tumors.

A c. 300-year oxyg.n and c.rbon isotope rec.rd derived from fine-g.ained and ostrac.d c.rbonate from Qing.ai Lake testifies to dramatic.interannual tointerdec.dal limnolog.c.l c.ang.. Fine-g.ained c.rbonates, whic. are mainly authig.nic. are likely to have formed in the epilimnion of the lake and their isotopic.c.mposition reflec.s the summer temperature and, more importantly, the isotopic.c.mposition of the near-surfac. waters, whic. is mainly a func.ion of evaporative c.nc.ntration. Ostrac.d shells are sec.eted in the benthos of the lake, and their isotopic.c.mposition reflec.s summer bottom-water c.nditions, tog.ther with frac.ionation effec.s, whic. may differ between spec.es. Differenc.s betweenc.ntemporaneous values from authig.nic.c.rbonates and ostrac.d shells may provide an indic.tion of stratific.tion within the lake and variations in effec.ive prec.pitation over the northeast part of the Tibetan Plateau over the past 300 years. A period of moderate evaporative c.nc.ntration, from about 300 to 100 yr BP, was interrupted by a marked wet phase from ～100 to 40 yr BP, whic. was in turnfollowed by a return to drier c.nditions in the most rec.nt part of the *** inc.ease in ? 18O values in the latter part of the rec.rd ac.ords well withinstrumental rec.rds of lake-level lowering.and salinity inc.ease sinc. about 1955 AD.

The identific.tion of jets orig.nating.from quarks and g.uons,often referred to as quark/g.uon tag.ing.plays an important role in various analyses performed at the Larg. Hadron c.llider,as Standard Model measurements and searc.es for new partic.es dec.ying.to quarks often rely on suppressing.a larg. g.uon-induc.d *** paper desc.ibes the measurement of the effic.enc.es of quark/g.uon tag.ers developed within the ATLAS c.llaboration,using.√s=13 TeV proton–proton c.llision data with an integ.ated luminosity of 140 fb^(-1) c.llec.ed by the ATLAS *** tag.ers with hig. performanc.s in rejec.ing.jets from g.uon over jets from quarks are studied:one tag.er is based on requirements on the number of inner-detec.or trac.s assoc.ated with the jet,and the other c.mbines several jet substruc.ure observables using.a boosted dec.sion tree.A method is established to determine the quark/g.uon frac.ion in data,by using.quark/g.uon-enric.ed subsamples defined by the jet *** in tag.ing.effic.enc. between data and simulation are provided for jets with transverse momentum between 500 g.V and 2 TeV and for multiple tag.er working.points.

Evidenc. for the '8.2 ka c.ld event' has been provided mostly from the c.rc.m-North Atlantic.area. However, whether this c.ld event oc.urred in other plac.s is a key to understanding.its c.use. Here, we provide the evidenc. for the '8.2 ka c.ld event' from the g.liya ic. c.re in the northwest Tibetan Plateau, and it was found that the peak c.oling.(-8.3-8.2 ka) in this ic. c.re was about 7.8-10°c. whic. was larg.r than the c.oling.in the North Atlantic.reg.on. The primary c.uses for this episode were diminished solar ac.ivity and weakened thermohaline c.rc.lation. Moreover, another weak c.ld event, c.ntered about 9.4 ka, was also rec.rded in the g.liya ic. c.re rec.rd. These two c.ld events were c.nc.rrent with the ic.-rafting.episodes in the North Atlantic.during.the early Holoc.ne, whic. implies that the millennial-sc.le c.imatic.c.c.ic.ty mig.t exist in the Tibetan Plateau as well as in the North Atlantic.
